It was a stroke of genius for Mr. Allison to wear his Kent-Haste 3 button suit so Rubinacci was able to properly compare the Neapolitan style with the English style of suit tailoring.
Terrific video. Kirby your content continues to be first class. I’ve enjoyed teaching my sons about these heritage brands. Heritage, quality, and craftsmanship is timeless. Appreciate your sartorial masterclasses. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Kirby, Well researched and presented sir. I am grateful for your presentations and Teddy B's on watches. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
@@kirbyallison I would love to one day go a journey with you to one of these magnificent places with these magnificent people. I'm working on my own TH-cam channel, hopefully in the future we can do a collaboration. I absolutely love suits, shoes, and craftmenship.
Thank you, Kirby. When Gennaro Rubinacci founded London House in 1932 he had never been to London but heard that London was the capital of men’s fashion. Today, 90+ years later, it’s the English Savile Row tailors and New York designers who take inspiration from Rubinacci tailors. Vincenzo Attlolini, signore Rubinacci’s head cutter at London House, is credited with inventing the deconstructed Neapolitan jacket. Mr. Attolini believed that to be elegant was to be relaxed, casual, and natural.
I really enjoy these videos which is weird as I wear jeans and t shirts and could care less about nice clothes. Maybe it’s the personalities, the passion and enthusiasm. Anyway, keep up the good work.
I would have to agree. It seems like something for high society. For me to wear clothes like this would probably mean I had a substantial increase to my financial position but never say never.
Wow! This is a fantastic video and everything is so clear and well explained. I would love to see you commission a suit or jacket from them and see how the full experience and result differs from the English style! I tend to wear English tailoring -- but maybe I should open my mind to Italian
Well done Kirby - you keep producing high quality work on your own dime. On the other side you are a real brand in classic men’s wear. I have a daily blog called Fare Bella Figura - Make A Good Impression, Be A Sharp Dressed Man on LinkedIn and I reference what I am wearing, WHY and where it came from, so I mention Kirby Allison every blog because of the horn collar stays or Ancient Madder silk tie or the pocket square, etc that I bought from you. Please keep being a leader and beacon in a world which is sinking into the bog of informal function over form, unremarkable, sloppy looking, casual menswear. America is leading the world in the wrong direction but you are doing a great job to hold back the sludge tide.
What took so long to upload this episode? Ever since the last video where we met Rubinacci, been waiting in anticipation. The wait was worthwhile. Beautiful. Love from Bangladesh. Now waiting for lunch!
I own only one Rubinacci suit, and I have to say, it is by far my absolute favorite one due to all the little nuances. Unfortunately, most of the time it goes unnoticed by the average person.
Great video but visiting Cuba and Italy You should at least have learned some basic Spanish & basic Italian for exploring the world of craftmanship ! It's not that difficult !
Why? They all speak English. He didn't miss anything and he probably has better things to do with his time than learn new languages every time he travels.
He did learn a couple of words in Spanish, you see it in some of his videos. But they kept it consistent with the translator on video. His wife is Mexican too I think. You also saw him exchange a few loose words in Italian in a previous video.
@kirbyallison I wasn't expecting you to reply to this comment. I was just kidding about you looking uncomfortable. You hid your discomfort well enough. 🙂
Great video Kirby! Please! Keep doing this, we are learning so much from you! This is my favorite channel!

Mr Allison is a true genius!
I agree, it was a great choice! It really underlines the different approaches to a suit for the same purpose.

I have loved this Italy tour! Can you tease us about what's coming up for 2025?
Bellisimo! ❤
The Rubinaccis look so effortlessly perfect in a suit. I have never been able to look so at ease. La Dolce Vita

That German jacket at 42:00 is 👌
Really love their style and cut, let you dress up but feel light and a bit more casual while still well dressed
Could I ask how about the new laboratory that Rubinacci recently opened in Naples? Since the work is done in the workshop above the shop
Grande Luca
A tour on how to experience the depths of McDonald's or any other common modern experience oc american cusine would be delicious for the eyes !
That is an interesting idea. Maybe we'll do that next!
03:12 starts
Kirby really needs more casual clothes if he cant recognize an obvious cotton jacket. 😉 Merry Christmas!
yes rather strange given his exposure and ‘fame’ in the genre.

I think Kirby knows more Spanish than he lets on. Have you seen his wife? Anyway, I think the English is mostly for the audience
@@richarddr1234 I know but a hello and a few short sentences would add to the "ambiance"
Mr. Allison is visibly uncomfortable when Mr. Rubinacci was discussing the merits of the button fly.
Haha. I can’t stand the button fly. Took everything I had to not scream out in protest. lol.
