I have a NT SuperNES analogue too, i have never seen my SNES Modules in a high Quality like that!! Amazing it's like you bought new Modules. Picture clear and perfect and the Sound is perfect too. The price for that high end retro console is absolut okay.
Just a bit of input about the shipping, as someone who used to work for a 3-chain shipping center, all shipping companies charge a fee for insurance, and I'm sure that Analog don't want to lose any money on units that got lost, damaged or stolen along the way. I'm not saying that accounts for the bulk of it, but that's part of it. The other part of it is that UPS has stupidly high prices for smaller packages because they specialize more in large packages. USPS actually handles small packages better for pricing. :P
The hardware in this unit makes it worth the cost. It's updated tech that mimics the original SNES as close as possible through hardware emulation. Win Win.

Thirty bucks for shipping is purely ridiculous. I sell modded Xboxes on eBay and shipping is always 20 or less, and those things are heavy and go in fairly large boxes. There's no way this should be $30 for shipping.

Instead of saying it is $189 plus $30 shipping they could say the price is $219 and free shipping. Getting slapped with an extra $30 charge during checkout really stings, and would take some mental gymnastics to get me acclimated to the idea.
I want one of these bad but just can't justify the price yet. When FPGA boards come down in price(SBC competitive) and you can emulate multiple consoles on the fly, if I haven't got one yet, I'll definitely buy. Until then, I'll just stick with normal emulation.

Aside from shipping costs, my only gripe is no savestates....YET. Hopefully there will be firmware updates that include savestates and different cores would be nice also. I Don't think the latter will happen though, not holding my breath. I'm digging my SNT though. Haven't had an SNES and Carts since I was a kid, and those are looong gone.
Yo... This review misrepresents the Super NT. A jailbreak does not allow you to "play all your favorite roms". Game ROMS that had additional processing inside the game carts will not run on the on the Super NT. So like for MegaMan X3, I have a super famicom cart to play on my Super NT. Hardware emulation needs the cartridges for games like Mario Kart and Star Fox due to additional processing inside the game carts. Just on this review alone, someone could buy a SuperNT, be aware of the slow UPS shipping and then be bummed they need to order a Star Fox game cart and Mario Kart game cart because the Jail Break tells them their unit can not play those ROMs.
Look past the shipping as this is the gold standard now for retro console remakes. I have the black model with 2 x 8bitdo controllers and as this reviewer says it is brilliant. The jailbreak is also seamless, works like a dream though does not support FX right now, but I am fairly sure it will in due course. Total credit to Analogue on this, they have nailed it. Not affiliated at all, just think they did a great job with this and all the reviews support this too.
I’m still waiting on buying one because I wanna see how the video looks at 720p with normal scan lines but no one on TH-cam has a video like that. They run scan lines at 1080p which isn’t optimal for scan lines.
Very minimum, but the super nt is slightly better since it runs games on the hardware in real time instead of software emulation. So 0 input lag and better compatability. However, unless compared side by side you would barely notice it. de Nt mini has 3 video options i think, since the snes operates at slightly over 60 fps there had to be some video tweaking done so it would be compatible with hdmi tv's. There is an original speed option with a very minuscule input lag and no screentearing, i think the input lag is around the same amount as you get from a raspberry pi emulator. Than there is the tweaked version where they clocked the system from like 60,2 fps to 60. giving no input lag and no screentearing but games run a minuscule amount slower (About 0.25% slower than the original hardware over the span of 2 minutes) And then there is the final option of running the games at the original speed with no video buffering to match the screen so games run in their original speed and you'll have no input lag but you're going to have some screentearing. In short, do you have a lot of super nintendo games? yes? get the nt mini. Are you bad with computers, dont want to fiddle around and have a nice plug n play experience? get a snes mini, if you only care about snes game it'll be cheaper than a raspberry since it comes in a nice retro case and with 2 controllers right out of the box. Do you like to fiddle around, spend maybe a few bucks more but be able to emulate a lot more systems? get a raspberry pi
i been wanted to get this for awhile but i wanna wait abit more until i pull the trigger to get it. the only thing i need to know is that does it patch games for english translation for most import games.

Don't feel too bad you bought 2 for the cost of one at the time of release in the UK eBay store, to give you some idea of the cost here I bought a mint PAL UK SNES, mint Famicom SNES an sd2snes an everdrive, 2 game adaptor units, 2x gamepads for a lot less than the price of one Analogue SNES from Ebay scalpers !!
hands down the super nt you cant even compare it to the snes classic its in a different class. the super nt can be compare to a original snes and the other hardware clones Nintendo made its that good
I wasn't impressed with the thirty dollar shipping charge. My unit came to me within two or three days a few months ago. This is the best SNES clone I've played so far. I hope that save states (via SD card) are made available through a firmware update.
This is no software emulation. It's a tuned hardware copy! That's the big advantage over emulation platforms like RetroPi, Recalbox or Lakka... It's worth the price! Emulators add tons of input lag to the games(about 150-170ms). And this is System has the original Snes input lag of around 70ms. You will notice the much quicker reaction time. Especially when playing Jump 'n' Run or Fighting Games. The only Emulation System which handles the input lag problem quiet good is the one from French programming team which made the Snes Mini Software for Nintendo. It has about 90 ms input lag.
Glad I now know about the shipping charges. Going to affect my decision on buying one. No interest in fancy packaging that adds zero value. Also, do they plan on ramping up production or is the plan to make potential customers check their site daily, hoping the model they want is available for preorder?
I could be wrong here but many other youtubers keep saying that it's emulation but IMO it's not an emulation since it doesn't use an os to run the cartridge off of software it actually runs the game from the actual cartridge hardware which there's a huge difference between the two which is the whole reason for the fpga otherwise it would be an overglorified retron 5 or other cheap knock off clone consoles that use software to emulate games this is simulation not emulation it gives you more of an authentic gaming experience of how a snes/sfc is supposed to be played if this was emulation it would've been overpriced

Its about accuracy. Higan emulator can emulate up to 100% accuracy. Other emulator is made to run the most popular snes games but will fail to run some games but Higan can run everything properly. It even outperform snes mini in terms of accuracy.
Yes you're right. what i mean is as 100% as software emulation can be. This is where this analog Super NT can bypass those physical barrier where Higan can never achieve.
I would have bought it if i had more snes carts :/ And i know, you can jailbreak it and install your own roms, but honestly i already have my snesberry pi with 8bitdo controllers for that. like, the input lag from the emulation on a raspberry is only 2 or 3 frames. Its just as good as the snes mini or most virtual console titels. Now if only someone made a proper n64 hd clone....

I'm just disappointed that they aren't emulating the cart chips like SuperFX with their FPGA. they could easily do that for what the FPGA they have and the price. also emulating Genesis should be a no brainer that they just haven't bothered with.
ncgallagher thats nice possible since FX games uses the FX chip installed on the card that the fpga cannot replicate. Your only option is the buy the actual card where the chip is installed.
ncgallagher not possible. You NEED the seperate FX chip and there aren’t only the FX chip, there were many different chips beside the FX, Capcom had their own chip installed on the Street Fighter Alpha 2 cart. If it was possible I’d have been done a long time ago along with the fpga chip.
im not going to argue with you i just know that you're wrong. look at the work being done on the SD2SNES. coding for fpga is a lot of work. you gotta love what you're doing and the market is not that big. the guy that made the mini nt "kevtris" is pretty much a genius and it took him a long time. i just know that if he was motivated he could do this too. so i dk where you're getting NEED from other than your own assumptions and misinformation.
Eric Varga I don't know... Framemeisters are expensive if you want to play snes like it was on a crt, all othe emulator consoles have significant latency that does not feel like childhood. Playing roms with zero latency is like a drug for me, I bought 2 more for friends after I got addicted to snes again after buying one of these super nts. I'd buy rhe nes nt if they still made it now, that was too expensive for me to consider but it was the price of a frame meistwr.

great but still it will never feel as authentic as playing an actual snes because it just does not look like a snes. if i was going for authenticity i would buy an actual snes and scaler, if i was just looking to play a few old games and not too worried about authenticity then i would use emulator or a snes mini because its cheaper that this so this item falls in between for me because of the high price for still just a clone with no save states

I bought a black one. It is awesome. Excellent works on his backward engineering. I use an EVERDRIVE for playing ROM files.

Fairly recently my friend got a snes and we went to play mortal kombat 3 and it looked terrible. It almost looked blockier than the c64 :)

I was just thinking about it. It's very easy to do but it might help a lot of people.

to be honest i don't get why people like those scan-lines... is it just nostalgia?
I have a NES and SNES Mini, I have a Rasberry Pi with a image I love that I spent a month creating, and have zero need for this but I am sitting saying "damn I want that"
great but still it will never feel as authentic as playing an actual snes because it just does not look like a snes. if i was going for authenticity i would buy an actual snes and scaler, if i was just looking to play a few old games and not too worried about authenticity then i would use emulator or a snes mini because its cheaper that this so this item falls in between for me because of the high price for still just a clone with no save states

I have wanted true SNES emulation without any input /screen lag. Once i found even a couple of frames lag on the retropie and just a tiny bit on the snes classic... I can't unsee it..
