If Instead of a 3x3 matrix we have a 4x4 matrix with a lot of unoccupied cells in which loops can be formed, how do we choose the ideal loop ? Or, Do we try all of them ?
Chetna Malik No matter how big the cost matrix is,if you follow all rules of making the loop, at any given time only one loop can be formed. For eg- the loop starts from smallest unoccupied cell, there should be only one smallest unoccupied cell at a time. But lets say there's more than one, but still then, at each corner point of loop there should be an occupied cell. So all possible loop may not fulfil the criteria, so the loop which fulfils all the criterion, is our required loop. I hope I'm clear.I take my personal time to clarify doubts of my viewers. So, if we make a loop among u1v1, u1v2, u2v1, and u2v2. Is it possible? And then does the answer differece from your process? Another question, is it possible to make a loop containing more than four cells? Thanks

thanks a lot sir..this video and all other videos are very much helpful to me...my exams are nearer and your videos are like boon to me....but i have one question as i am a student of uttar pradesh technical university(UPTU) so can i solve according to your steps and formulae..?? by using your method my marks will not be deducted??
Sujoy Krishna Das yes, i knw this is standard method....but i thought may b in uptu thr must be some more steps...because in my book i.e prof.vivek kumar the method is very lengthy and very complicated. but thanks 2 u....i'll do it with this method only because its simple and effective.
Sujoy Krishna Das and sir can you plz tell me some imp. questn according to ur experience which may come in exam as my exam are very nearer nd thr z very less time to prepare
Sir, with due respect the video was an outstanding explanation but i am not convinced with the looping starting from 6:45 how did u add and subtract ...did u add and subtract only the allocation with the cell value..??
David Martin The plus-minus operation is done in alternative order on allocated cells and on the allocated value. With starting cell(unoccupied cell) as plus. And take the smallest allocation value in each loop as key value for addition & subtraction. I hope I was able to convince you! Comments from intelligent viewers like you really motivates me! from which method the less cost on transportation will come or initial basic feasible solution will come by north west corner rule + modi , vogel + modi and least cost method + modi ????
In most of the cases,in initial basic feasible solution, least cost is obtained by VAM. But two things to remember, 1st,VAM does not always give the optimal cost during the initial solution; you may need to do MODI Method or Stepping Stone Method on the initial solution to get the optimal solution. 2nd,sometimes Matrix Minimum Method also gives least cost in initial solution. I hope this suffices your queries. Kindly subscribe to my TH-cam channel so that when I upload a new video, you get notified. Please share my channel's url among your friends and family. Refer to the Loop Rule No. 2(at time 5:53)- "Starting & Ending Cell of Loop must be an Unoccupied cell(unallocated cell)." The cell 3.2 is an unallocated cell, whereas the cell 1.2 is an allocated cell. That's why I started the loop from cell 3.2. Hope it suffices your query. Kindly subscribe to my TH-cam channel if you haven't done and share this video. Because sharing is caring!
Because you won't get occupied cells at each corner point of loop in that case. If you start from cell 3.2(cell value 6) next cell will be 1.2(value 1),next 1.1(value 5),but then you'll get stuck. As you cant't go to cell 3.1(value 17) as that's not an allocated cell. Hope it's clear to you. If not, please re-watch the video. If yes, then please like & share the video and help someone else to learn.
and what if the minimum allocated values in the loop are same like here it was 4, 7,and 7, but if it were 7, 7, 9 .....then what.? also , does clockwise or anticlockwise looping make any difference ??? also ..here in the starting loop the allocated value is assigned 4 , how was that decided??
Atul Singh 1) We'd take the minimum value. If there's a tie, take any one of the minimum values. Since we're talking about value, not location.2) Clockwise/anticlockwise looping shouldn't give different result.3) 4 is the minimum value among 4,7,7 so it's taken. Logic is explained at minute- @watch?v=fTTrjKL-rJ0&t=6m14s 4) You're suggested to re-watch the video carefully once again :-) 5) If these were helpful to you, don't forget to like & share the video! Sir it can be possible, looping with highest positive value instead of highest negative value.
thank you i really understood it perfectly sir
So, if we make a loop among u1v1, u1v2, u2v1, and u2v2. Is it possible? And then does the answer differece from your process?
Another question, is it possible to make a loop containing more than four cells?
Thanks

Is this applicable for TYBMS?

thank you.....really it is useful to me
thanks a lot sir..this video and all other videos are very much helpful to me...my exams are nearer and your videos are like boon to me....but i have one question as i am a student of uttar pradesh technical university(UPTU) so can i solve according to your steps and formulae..?? by using your method my marks will not be deducted??
Adil Khan That's no 'my' method, that's standard method. Why r u fearing?
Sujoy Krishna Das yes, i knw this is standard method....but i thought may b in uptu thr must be some more steps...because in my book i.e prof.vivek kumar the method is very lengthy and very complicated. but thanks 2 u....i'll do it with this method only because its simple and effective.
Sujoy Krishna Das and sir can you plz tell me some imp. questn according to ur experience which may come in exam as my exam are very nearer nd thr z very less time to prepare
You can follow it without worry. It's not possible to predict question as it varies with board to board & time.
Sujoy Krishna Das ok.....thanx for ur help... :)

Thanks a lot for this explanation 👍😁
why did you change the value of cell delta 33 from 7 to 8 after looping

wonderful explanation. thank you
from which method the less cost on transportation will come or initial basic feasible solution will come by north west corner rule + modi , vogel + modi and least cost method + modi ????
In most of the cases,in initial basic feasible solution, least cost is obtained by VAM. But two things to remember, 1st,VAM does not always give the optimal cost during the initial solution; you may need to do MODI Method or Stepping Stone Method on the initial solution to get the optimal solution. 2nd,sometimes Matrix Minimum Method also gives least cost in initial solution.

how do you put the value in the cell? with which method?
Sir , which method we should use for IBFC before modi ,,,, as you used NWCM ?
You can use any of the 3 methods.
Sujoy Krishna Das ok thnkew .... but answers i got after using all these methods are not same!! Does it create any problem in exam....?
thank u.
was really helpful n understanding......

In Looping part.. the value of U3.V3 IS NOT 8 .. ITS 7 ... I GUESS
What if ∆3.1

+yashesh pancholi Watch this latest video to understand MODI METHOD deeply- th-cam.com/video/PIe8cE3cjj8/w-d-xo.html
As we can see the lowest allocation is 3 (u1,v2) ,and u1,v3 as the unallocated cell, so why dint u make the loop from there?
Can you pls mention the time in video u r referring to?
Sujoy Krishna Das Follow from 6:43, you took the loop from cell 3,2
why dint u take the cell 1,2?
Refer to the Loop Rule No. 2(at time 5:53)- "Starting & Ending Cell of Loop must be an Unoccupied cell(unallocated cell)."
The cell 3.2 is an unallocated cell, whereas the cell 1.2 is an allocated cell. That's why I started the loop from cell 3.2. Hope it suffices your query.
Kindly subscribe to my TH-cam channel if you haven't done and share this video. Because sharing is caring!
Is there any logic of not drawing Loop to allocated numbers 9(5) 3(1) 7(4) ? Because these numbers also form a loop?
Because you won't get occupied cells at each corner point of loop in that case. If you start from cell 3.2(cell value 6) next cell will be 1.2(value 1),next 1.1(value 5),but then you'll get stuck. As you cant't go to cell 3.1(value 17) as that's not an allocated cell. Hope it's clear to you. If not, please re-watch the video. If yes, then please like & share the video and help someone else to learn.
well explained . thank you
Thank you for making this video
how did you do it can you share with me , thank you
and what if the minimum allocated values in the loop are same like here it was 4, 7,and 7, but if it were 7, 7, 9 .....then what.?
also , does clockwise or anticlockwise looping make any difference ???
also ..here in the starting loop the allocated value is assigned 4 , how was that decided??
Atul Singh 1) We'd take the minimum value. If there's a tie, take any one of the minimum values. Since we're talking about value, not location.2) Clockwise/anticlockwise looping shouldn't give different result.3) 4 is the minimum value among 4,7,7 so it's taken. Logic is explained at minute- @watch?v=fTTrjKL-rJ0&t=6m14s 4) You're suggested to re-watch the video carefully once again :-) 5) If these were helpful to you, don't forget to like & share the video! Coz,knowledge is meant to be shared!
Sujoy, how do we solve the degenerate problem? I mean if in step 1, if it turns out to be a degenerate problem.. then what shall be done?? thanks
