Obey Acts 2:38, and walk faithfully in the Holy Ghost, and leave the rest to Christ. And I just want to say to all my brothers and sisters in Christ to hold on because we are getting closer and closer to the rapture and it's all gonna be worth it when we make it and see the face of our King and Creator! I want to see Jesus and fall at his feet and worship him forever and ever!

I agree with Dr. Bernard that the normal way of new testament salvation is Acts 2:38 because it has the ingredients of faith, repentance, water baptism and Spirit baptism. Any other special circumstance is in God's hand.
Dear God have mercy on me, forgive my sins for i know not what I am doing, please pray for me pastor and whoever read this message, in the name o Jesus i will be heals
Wow, I just had this conversation yesterday! I used the same verses and everything explaining it. I guess it shouldn't, but it feels really nice to have someone of Dr. Bernard's caliber confirm it. I've always felt inadequate bc I never attended a Bible College/seminary and never had a mentor that would take time with me. Reading the Word and other Christian books , prayer, and fasting have been my guides. I would still love to have a formal education, but His Word is so true when it says, 1 John 2:27-28 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming."
The thief was under the OT covenant. He admitted and confessed his sins. He was repentant. He placed faith in Jesus that he was the messiah. He asked that Jesus remember him. Jesus gave him his word that he would be with him in paradise. Jesus can't lie. Also, NT baptism wasn't implemented until after the resurrection.
It’s obvious this was before the NT command for salvation. The issue is he violates what we would consider OT commands for cleansing. Technically he didn’t follow the old or new commands for salvation.
All three Abrahamic religions (Judiasm, Christianity, and Islam) right down to the original monotheistic religion Zoroastrianism out of Iran that influenced Judiasm and her creation myths... all of them have ritualistic bathing cleansing rituals involving water. Baptism wasn't new when John the Forerunner appeared crying in the Wilderness. Baptism wasn't a new thing unfamiliar to the ancient peoples of the middle and near East. The Book of Acts is considered to have been written around 70 to 90 AD... However, it was not accepted as Canon of Scripture until late 4th early 5th Century. Not every Christian would have had access to what you're calling as the Book of Acts.... and versification of the Bible didn't happen until the 14th Century. Historically, the Church in her understanding has always viewed the pools of Baptism as her womb... where we are buried with Him through Baptism unto the likeness of His death... rising to the Newness of Life. I see a lot of folks in Oneness Pentecostal circles use the term ' OT Covenant'... I often wonder if they truly understand what is stated by their assertions... or if they are lacking in their understanding and are only repeating what they have heard? If the OT is our schoolmaster who is to teach us all things concerning Christ... we should (and do) see Christ and His Mother in the Old Testament. (This statement most likely would be established outside of the Pentecostal Fronema (mindset) as it is metaphysical - outside of rational thought, linear theology, and logic. The Church in her wisdom, has long understood that all of mankind is One with Adam, until we are One with Christ... and that the redemptive work of Calvary's Hill, transcends all space and time... It is wrong to think the OT is only one Covenant... the Bible says of itself, otherwise. Thank God for the example of the Penitent Thief... we also must cry out, 'Save us who sing to thee, Alleluia'... (this is from an ancient hymn dating back over 1000 years). The Church has always viewed salvation as a lifelong process and a journey... not a specific event. The salvific work in the life of a believer is a continual and synergistic effort between Christ God, the Person - within the Church. This whole 'Jesus Saves' is Contemporary and rinse and repeat non organic process from the Revival Period, which Pentecostals can trace most of their traditions and normatives to ... and not always tethered to the Ancient and Unbroken expression. There's so much to learn of ourselves and of Christ God in the power of His Resurrection with the measure of Grace present in our lives within Community.
@@jlar1984 -- to suggest that Christ God, who Christians believe to be both fully God and Fully Man, would not be submitted to God the Father is rather risky. Some dead English theologian whose name escapes me at the moment held this belief - God can do jolly well what he pleases.... I am fairly certain that even in the Oneness movement - God is orderly, and would never intentionally violate His precepts or His Logos. The Church has long pondered the Incarnate Christ... the Angelus Domini prayer at Noon still causes the faithful to consider the implications of Christ's Coming, His Birth, His Baptism, His Teachings. His Crucifixion, death burial and Resurrection... Salvation is Created - When the Son of God Becomes the Son of the Virgin. The Saints of Old held on to this exceedingly great and precious promise - believing. The question for us is, are we submitted to Christ God.... and how are we permitting Grace present in our lives to transform us... or in a more ancient term 'theosis' occurring in our soul.
@Lee McCoy Islam is not of Abraham at all. It's a pagan religion just like RCC. We say OT covenant when it's rightly called the Abrahamic covenant that God made with Abram. Just because other cultures and religions share similarities doesn't mean anything. Other cultures have pyramid shapes or ziggurats, it doesn't mean they stole or borrowed from each other anymore than wheels being circular.
Even the thief on the cross knew Jesus was God. (Jehova made in to flesh ) disputes the trinity doctrine . Luke 23>39>40kjv.isiah 43:10>11. Thank you David bernard excellent explanation. Right on .
Hi Lee... Christianity has always said of Christ ... that He was fully God and fully Man... The Doctrine of the Trinity probably isn't saying what you *think* it is saying... 'One in Essence and Undivided'... the Penitent Thief calling out to Christ God on the Cross, saying... 'Remember me in your Kingdom' refutes nothing in the Trinity.... there is no refutation there... unless we want it to be... but we would be unbiblical... read the Scripture again...
@@realmccoy124ou should read the scripture again. Oneness is all over the Bible. You get a trinity because you misread the scripture. To trinitarians God isn’t that strong so He needs help from two more. 2600 verses use the singular pronoun when speaking of God. This just one passage……1 Timothy 3:16 NKJV [16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. The evidence that God is one not three is numerous. God made it simple to see His plan for salvation. If He was a trinity He would have made that just as plain by saying so, instead His says He is God and there is no other. Every place in scripture where a trinitarian tries to prove a trinity, it reveals misreading and misinterpretation.
@@hargisP2I'm in my learning stage but there are also plural names used for God in the old testament. Also when God said let 'US' make man in OUR image what does he mean, can't be angels he asking for help because they are created beings. Additionally, in revelation when the LAMB was the only one who can take the book from the one sitting on the throne, what does that signify? Also when it says in 1 John there are 3 that bare witness in heaven and these 3 are one what does that mean? When God visited Abraham in the days of Sadom why did he visit as 3(open for discussion) why did he create us body, soul and spirit? There are many things in the Bible that signifies God's triune essence. God One is not necessarily our one and 1 day is as a thousand and a thousand as 1 day. all of Israel was considered 1, One what? They are many people. Paul preaches why do we all have a different doctrine. Most of us not truly seeking to get christ understanding directly from him instead we come on these social media pages and pick a side that aligns ith what we want. As I said I'm a babe in christ so I'm just learning.
What an honor if I'm that sinners died with my saviour that day and I repent all my sins by saying to him "remember me when you are in your kingdom". And he said to me to day thou shall be with me in paradise. Wow! For me thats the actual power of baptism I got that day with him, to died with him, buried with him that day and rise with him that day of his resurrection. Romans 6:3-6 the symbolical power of baptism yo died with him, buried with him and rise with him. So he is been baptized with Christ himself.
He is The Only One person that we are sure that He went to Heaven. Lord Jesus's word is The Only Truth. How Awesome, Generous, Compassionate and Merciful Our God is, and I understand that if we righteously confess our sins and repent, we will have hope no matter our conditions is.
Very insightful. From what I heard the thief was saved the same way that Rahab the harlot was saved. However, because we were not given much about information about what exactly happened, we run the risk of entering into speculation. Besides, Jesus is God can save whomever He wishes, think about that for a moment
I think even more so this shows the power of God’s mercy and grace. And the importance of the revelation of Jesus Christ and who He is. In every age we are saved by grace through faith. It’s not our own works that save us. Is baptism necessary tho? Yes, absolutely. If you have faith you should be baptized but if you don’t have faith there’s no need to be baptized it wouldn’t make any sense to do so. You must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and what he’s done for us.
I agree with everything … just with the exception of the very fact that the thief at that particular moment was required to repent and be baptized under John’s baptism and not particularly needed to go to the temple with a sacrifice..
One possible explanation is that Jesus, being the human manifestation of the transcendent God, was referring to Himself in transcendent form (He's everywhere). In that sense, the thief could be with Jesus in His transcendence while the physical human Jesus could be physically elsewhere (hell, for example, which was the case between Christ's death and resurrection).
@@Johnbobon Why make stuff up? Jesus told the thief that day that they would be together in paradise, but neither of them went there that day, and still haven't gone there. Move the comma to the other side of today and all your problems go away and you don't need to speculate.
@@robjr8774 If I understand you correctly, you're saying this is a matter of punctuation. In other words: Today, Jesus said to the thief, "you will be with me in paradise." That's as to say, Jesus made the statement today, not yesterday, and he made no statement as to when that would happen. The word "today" refers to when Jesus made the statement, not to when they would be together in paradise. Am I understanding you correctly?
@@Johnbobon Exactly. The thief asked Jesus to remember him at a point in time, when he came into his kingdom. Jesus' reply was to indicate that he need not wait until that point in time, but that day he received the assurance of paradise. The original Greek in which the gospel was written did not contain any punctuation, so all punctuation in the translation is provided by the (uninspired) translators who would lean on their own understanding. Mistakes happened. This is clear based on the fact that Jesus spent three days and nights in the heart of the earth.
That thief on the cross had more faith than John the Baptist, more faith then Peter more faith than the Apostles combined. When every one was telling JESUS he helped others but can’t help himself, this thief believed who JESUS was, and that was revealed to him by GOD because his heart was right, he said I deserve to be punished I am sorry that I broke Gods Law. And JESUS told him I tell you this today when I am hanging on the cross helpless, I can’t even help myself, when it doesn’t even looks like I am a savior, not even my Father is helping me, in fact HE has separated HIMSELF from ME. You gone be with ME in Paradise.
Yes amen Dr. Bernard: Jesus had NOT YET DIED for our sins and the new covenant had not yet begun. People that use this "example" of the thief on the cross are trying to excuse themselves from being baptized in water, and promote the idea that one can live a life of sin and just wait until they are on their death bed to "receive Christ". The problem with that thinking is, not everyone gets that chance, because death can come INSTANTLY, with the bat of an eye lash, before you are even aware of it, without warning: so the WISE thing to do is, while you still have breath, REPENT NOW, and be baptized NOW in the name of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION OF SINS (and Acts 2:38 says that includes EVERY ONE OF YOU) and receive the Holy Ghost NOW with the evidence of speaking with other tongues...DO IT NOW WHILE YOU HAVE BREATH TO DO SO !!!!
As l'm a christian from my birth,i believe that the thief who beg to Jesus christ is in heaven, because Jesus is the only person who can take us in heaven.Amen
Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved!!! So, although baptism and baptism in the Spirit are good, according to Paul, they are NOT necessary for salvation!!!
What ppl fail to realize and understand is that the Epistles (Romans-Jude) doesn't apply to unsaved ppl, and it's why Paul's letters are addressed to the "Saints" of God and to Christians who were sanctified in Christ instructing them on how to conduct Church, and maintain their relationship with Christ. Knowing how to "rightfully divide" the Word of God is imperative to understanding truth and to avoid false doctrines. The gospels (Matthew-John) is not the NT once we apply (Hebrews 9:16-17) "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force AFTER men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth," and it's why we must go to the book of Acts to learn how to be born-again, saved and filled with the HolyGhost, and the Apostles were the first ppl to receive the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4, and it's why Christ instructed them in Luke 24:49 to tarry in the city of Jerusalem until they be endued with power from on high, and commanded them that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem, and so the Apostles obeyed the Lord as instructed and receive the Holy Ghost, which is our "Comforter" Christ spoke of in the gospels, and the promise is unto everyone per Acts 2:39. The Bible is the irrefutable Word of God without error, but one must know how to "rightfully divide" the Bible to avoid false doctrines. Acts 2:38🕊
The thief on the cross has remission of sin because Jesus had authority on earth to forgive sin (Matthew 9:6). In the New Testament church believers are baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sin. Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:2-6, Acts 8:12-16 Jesus' disciples including Peter, Paul, Philip, and Ananais all baptized believers in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The Bible (the inspired Word of God {2 Timothy 3:16-17}) gave Him the authority. Want to go deeper? God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself (see below): 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Thief on the cross died under old covenant, Heb,9:16, also we cannot ride the thief's way,,,,We are not nailed to a tree,,,, Obey, Acts,2:38&10:44-48&Jn,3:5,Acts,19:1-7, Unto what then we're ye baptized,?????
12:30 "... The Spirit of God came.... he felt she had received the Holy Ghost." This is very challenging. I can't help but maintain that feelings are irrelevant. I recall many, many instances in which people "felt" a change that they relate to having received the Spirit, but I don't find any biblical basis to support that form of confirmation. Serious question: aside from Spiritual Fruit, which can't possibly be the initial sign, is tongues the only biblical evidence of having received the Holy Ghost?
If someone is genuinely repentant, then they would have been saved earlier and baptized properly. Death bed confessions without the person being baptized and God bearing witness of them is hard to believe.
Yes "feelings" are something I learned not to depend on. They are unstable. I was a drug addict, alcohol you name it and one day I was sitting in my cell crying out to God, started reading the Bible and bam! All of a sudden it was like I got hypnotized I started understanding what the bible was saying and gave gave me the desire to learn and apply his word to my life. A person's repentance will be seen by their actions, behaviors. Today I been living for God for 5 years now and love every bit of it. God has restored me, and my family. Today I love my neighbor as I love myself! Praise God
It is the INITIAL sign of the Holy Ghost; all who are baptized in the Holy Ghost speaks with other tongues, as stated throughout the book of Acts. Remember Jesus said that these SIGNS shall follow them THAT BELIEVE: in My name they shall cast out devils, THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES" Mark 16:17
There's nothing wrong with admitting when we don't have answers. We're wrong if we leave it at that and never seek for the truth, but we're never going to have a moment wherein we have literally every correct answer.
We are saved eternally the MOMENT we BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for our sins and God raised him from the dead. That’s it. Period. No repenting of sins, no getting baptized, no turning over a new leaf. It’s by grace through FAITH ALONE in Jesus Christ. He is the narrow way. The broad way is your WORKS or your religious beliefs.
😮. that's NOT Biblically accurate.. You Better DIG DEEP into your Bible.. Because because what you're saying is false doctrine😢 Idk who told you that LIE.. but whoever it is run away fast. They do not represent Jesus
@conqueror9965 He’s talking about a spiritual baptism. When you repent (change your mind) and believe in Jesus as your savior, you are baptized into the body of Christ. You are baptized and receive the Holy Spirit. It isn’t speaking of water baptism.
@conqueror9965 read acts 2:38 in context. It has nothing to do with us today. Verse 36 makes it clear the apostle Peter is addressing the house of Israel in verse 38 not the gentile. We also know Peter is the apostle to the jews and Paul is the apostle to the gentiles-Galatians 2:7 and 8.
@conqueror9965 Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. This verse doesn’t disprove the truth of what i just told you about acts 2:38. Acts 2:38 is a call for a national repentance and baptism for the nation of Israel. Baptism is not part of the gospel and if it was the apostle Paul was wrong. 1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. The book of acts is not a good place to get your doctrine from as it is a transitional book. In acts 2 the house of Israel get baptized and receive the gift of the holy spirit Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? In acts 10 men received the Holy spirit and then got baptized. Acts 19:5-6 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Here in acts 19 they receive the holy spirit not after they got baptized but after the apostle Paul laid his hand on them. Today this is how we receive the Holy Spirit Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, This verse makes it clear that an individual is sealed with the Holy Spirit the moment they believe. Baptism is a like figure of that salvation 1peter 3:21 Trust the Lord Jesus Christ not your baptism.

I have a question. I have need going to a great apostalic church for almost 4 years. I love on everyone, meaning I talk to anyone with humility and just enjoy testifying about what God has done in my life. One day I talked to a friend that no longer goes to my church but is still greatly involved in ministry and my pastor heard i was talking to him and told me that I couldn't fellowship with him or talk to him or I could possibly be defellowshipped? How should I feel about that? I am so confused because everyone at church tells me to respect what my pastor says??
Man, that's a tough situation. So many variables to consider. Follow your pastor so long as he is following Christ. But also recognize that he is fallible just like the rest of us. I sincerely pray that the Lord will guide your steps and give you wisdom.
The UPCI and other Oneness groups talk about scripture... personal conviction... and your pastor... it is typical of most Pentecostal folks to literally shun ... and they'll use the verse that says... don't walk with someone who walketh disorderly... your friend is your friend... even if they don't go to your Church. Comply.. the moment you begin to get a footing in Scripture... and you formulate your positions ... you better make sure your sure your 'personal convictions' are goose stepping in sync with the pastor... and don't evaluate him and his teachings... 'else you walk in the spirit of rebellion' ... this misapplication of Christian teaching opens the door for spiritual abuse... and it does happen in a lot of Churches.... Wesley's Quadrilateral speak of Scripture, Tradition, History, and Reason'... any Pentecostals will most likely deny they have there little t- traditions... but they do. Someone responded to you about follow your pastor .. if he's following after God... that's really hard to discern, especially if you are new to the Faith... you are to walk in dominion of your household... and you are to figure out how to walk unto all pleasing... and you gotta live life... and you gotta submit... that's a lot... how do we know if your pastor is submitted? We really don't... so be careful with pushy people trying to take away your free will... a true man of God... will guide, not coerce, will respect your intellect and understanding... he will explain things... and permit you to use Scripture, Tradition, History, and Reason... to grow in grace... and caution you ... if your friend left the church you go to, for another... he should still be your friend... you should hear his position... of what's up... and place it against Scripture Tradition History and Reason... asking why or how so ... or is that found clearly in scripture... that's not rebellion.... your friend may be truly struggling... and there's a lot of hateful mad folks sitting in pews 'sitting in the seat of the scornful... you may be the person God needs to love that soul to healing... I don't know your pastor... but I know how Pentecostals behave ... sometime with such arrogance and pride and harming folks.... sometimes the wolf in sheep's clothing is wearing a white shirt and a tie.... love the soul that stands in front of you... regardless if they agree with you or not... be encouraged... (and there's nothing wrong speaking with another pastor privately to validate things unsettled in your spirit.)
Your pastor should not tell you who not to talk to. He is not your boss, the good shepherd Jesus is. If your pastor is a bully, confront him or leave the church or both.
If the thief on the cross was let go before he died he would probably say build more upc churches in every city . My city has 250,000 souls only one upc church.
6:25 - _"So the thief on the cross, then, would've been saved under the old covenant..."_
The old covenant had nothing to do with eternal, spiritual salvation. And the physical act of water baptism has nothing to do with eternal, spiritual salvation.
Now...if Jesus is the Father (which he is), and if Jesus died and raised himself from the dead (which he did), then it necessarily follows that **the Father died** and raised himself from the dead.
Where does it state that the old covenant has no salvation value to it? Where does it state in scripture that water baptism has nothing to do with salvation?
@@Post-Trib HEBREWS 10:4 _For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins._

JOHN 4:14 _But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life._
The "water" that saves eternally is the Spirit of Christ, which we receive by faith in him.

@Euston you're taking those scriptures out of context also. The OT saints all died without salvation and are eternally condemned to Hell, and then the lake of fire? That's what you're saying. Paul was sent not to baptize because the Corinthians started to identify with being baptized by Paul or Peter or whoever as more important than what the gospel was really conveying. It was a schism, and Paul was sent to end it. Nothing about it declared water baptism of no effect as it was commanded. Nice try Also, the sacrifice of animals was the shadow or type of Christ. Those in the OT died looking forward to Christ and his atonement in blood
@@Post-Trib _>>> "The OT saints all died without salvation and are eternally condemned to Hell, and then the lake of fire? That's what you're saying."_
Noooooo!!!!!!! I'm saying that they were not saved *under the old covenant.* They were saved the same way that believers today are saved: by faith in the one true God. The difference is that believers today receive the Holy Ghost, and their sins are remembered no more (the _new_ covenant).
And water baptism is a physical act. A work. Being dunked in water (by someone who probably doesn't even believe that *the Father died* and raised himself from the dead, no less) has nothing to do with eternal salvation.

It came to pass that Lazarus died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man died, was buried, then went to hell. 23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in TORMENT, saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented IN THIS FLAME. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received good things, and likewise Lazarus received evil things, but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that they which would pass from hence to you can not, neither can they pass to us, and would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray you therefore father, that you would send him to my father’s house. 28 For I have 5 brothers that he may testify unto them, lest also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay father Abraham, but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” LOCATION OF HELL: Jesus said in Matthew 12:40, ”For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH.” Paul said in Ephesians 4:9, ”Now that he ascended, was it but that he also DESCENDED into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH.” HELL IS A PLACE OF FIRE: Jesus said in Luke 16:24,”….Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue for I am TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME.” Jesus said in Matthew 13:42,”And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE, there shall be WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.” Jesus said in Matthew 25:41,”Then shall he also say to them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, INTO EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.” Jesus said in Revelation 20:15,”And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.” HELL IS A PLACE OF TORMENT: Jesus said in Luke 16:23,”And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENT….” 24 …..for I am TORMENTED in this flame.” Jesus said in Revelation 14:11,”And the smoke of their TORMENT ascended up FOR EVER AND EVER, and they have no rest day or night….” Jesus said in Mark 9:45-46,”And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off, it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED. 46 Where their WORM DIES NOT, and the fire is not quenched.” Note that it doesn’t say “THE Worm”, it says “THEIR WORM” dies not. Jesus said in Revelation 21:8,”But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, which is the second death.” Note that Brimstone is Sulfur and burns with a very strong odor of rotten eggs. The scriptures above prove when a person goes to hell they will constantly see hell, constantly smell hell, constantly feel the heat of hell, will constantly breath hell, will constantly hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of others in hell, will constantly be aware of their own worms, they will have no rest day or night, there is no way out and it will continue for ever and ever, they can’t die because they are already dead. The following is how to not go there and it is a SIMPLE AND EASY thing to do: All of the book of Acts is what Jesus disciples said what we must to be SAVED - meaning not go to hell, which is repentance, water baptism in Jesus NAME, (NOT the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED, but he that believes not shall be damned." At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not name's) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time they invoked Jesus NAME at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16 (Paul's baptism). Jesus said in John 3:3-7,"Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man BE BORN AGAIN, he can not see the kingdom of God. 5 Verily, verily I say unto, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 7 Marvel not that I say unto you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Being born of water is being baptized in water which is for the REMISSION OF SINS - meaning the INITIAL remission of sins and not the confessing of sins later addressed in 1 John 1:9. Being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost. What being baptized with the Holy Ghost means is addressed in Mark 16:17 (Jesus speaking), Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost), Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5 - which is when the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in a person. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer. Acts 19:1-5 is a good example. Paul said in Romans 8:9-11,”But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS." Numbers 23:19, ”God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, has he said and shall he not do it? And shall he not make it good?” Malachi 3:6,”For I am the Lord, I change not...” Hebrews 13:8,”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” That means there is no reason to think that Jesus will make an exception and save someone that has not been baptized in water in Jesus NAME, and has not been baptized with the Holy Ghost. Some say the thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized yet Jesus told him he would be in paradise with him that day. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in HIS NAME until after he had risen from the dead and before he ascended into heaven. The thief on the cross could not have been baptized because he did not know about it. If you do what Jesus said above in Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, and John 3:3-7, you will be making SURE your name is Written In Lamb's Book Of Life. If you are convinced you need to get baptized in water in Jesus Name do a search and type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, a screen will show a Church near you that will do that. Jesus said John 10:27, ”My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
Even if the thief was a Jew and followed the law at some point in his life he clearly did not follow the steps required in the law to cleanse himself. The thief violated OT and NT commandments for salvation. God will do what he wants. I’m totally ok if God decides to violate what I believe to save a soul. God however can’t violate his Word. Therefore if faith and repentance was good enough for Jesus why do we have a problem with that?
The thief couldn't have violated NT salvation because it wasn't commanded until after the resurrection. Jesus said the thief would be with him in paradise. God can't lie
@@Post-Trib right. Since it was OT times at the point of his conversation with Jesus on the cross then he was under OT commandments. Which were not followed was my point.
This is a good question tbh. I would say yes personally. If salvation is the washing away of sins and the putting on of Gods Spirit, acts 2:38 alone fulfills that . However, I can see an argument for the other way as well.
I believe so. I am Oneness myself and STILL even get tripped up sometimes on different subjects regarding salvation, the process of sanctification, etc. One subject also is the fallacy of sinless perfectionism believed by a lot of people. People have to understand that once you are saved, you are still wrapped up in corrupt flesh. The beauty of Calvary is knowing that Jesus took to the cross what none of us could carry on our own. His grace is sufficient. So I’m saying this, even if we don’t fully understand everything that there is to know, even if when striving we mess up, make mistakes and at times fall flat on our faces (looking at myself here), He made a way of escape for our souls. If we follow the plan of salvation found in Acts, God will lead us and guide us the rest of the way home.
I believe they'd be lead into all truth if they received the genuine Holy Ghost because the Bible proclaims it. My grandparents were Trinitarians, but after they received the Holy Ghost they believed in only One God because Christ revealed it to them.
Isaiah 43:19 and Malachi 3:1 these verses are Prophecies of John the Baptist and they speak of water this means baptism this baptism never changed its still a commandment read mark 16:16 and Mathew 28:19 read acts 2:38 even untill today this is the one and only correct baptism repentance in The name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins the theft on the cross could have been baptized with the baptism of John the Baptist who also baptized in repentance because john and the Disciples of Jesus where baptizing this way for 3 years with Jesus in the flesh with them and after Jesus ascended back to heaven they still baptized in the same formula acts 2:38 no one ever in the bible baptized in Matthew 28:19 if you read John 5:43 and john 14:26 this explains the name of the father and the holy ghost the disciples added JESUS name to the same baptism of repentance IN acts 2:38 because the disciples knowing what Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 by saying !! NAME!! NOT ::NAMES::ONE NAME read Zechariah 14:9 and Ephesians 4:5 one LORD one FAITH one baptism
Why do yall go out of your way to complicate the obvious...it is obvious that the law was fulfilled and completed at the moment of Jesus death "the veil was torn, meaning a shut door was opened"....and it is obvious that the new covenant began at the moment of Jesus death....at the time the Thief only had one option for salvation, an understanding that he was a sinner and a simple belief in who Jesus was and what he was here to do...."Grace by faith" got him into paradise... Jesus Died before the thief which put the thief dying squarely within the new covenant....it is still just that simple...Jesus said "It is finished"
God is not a God of exceptions, and he is also not a God who determines salvation on the availability of water. He is JUST. Jesus was clear that there is only one way, and Romans clears that up with the Romans road of salvation
The thief was not circumcised as per the Old Testament required. The physical baptism isn’t required for salvation. That’s very elementary and easy to understand if you have any clue how God has worked throughout the entire Bible. Faith alone has been the ONLY requirement since the fall. Also, the thief never was circumcised. You can’t find anything that would suggest so. Come on. No one with any sort of understanding can take you serious if you go that far into lies to say that physical baptism Is necessary.
@@christineroper9391 In the Bible clearly says faith alone in Christ alone. The baptism is spiritual only. If you go by your standard, the bread in the wine are literally Christ body and blood and that is Roman Catholic and satanic you need to understand how to read the Bible you can’t just read it on your own, and use your own imagination.

@cleretfernandes5972 so how do you explain the rest of the Bible?
@@cleretfernandes5972: What you fail to understand is that the Epistles (Romans-Jude) doesn't apply to unsaved ppl and the letters Paul wrote were to already born-again, saved and Holy Ghost filled Christians, and it's why Paul's letters are addressed to the "Saints" and ppl who were sanctified in Christ instructing them on how to conduct Church and maintain one's relationship with Christ in the Holy Ghost. The book of Acts is where we go to learn how to be born-again, saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, which is the Spirit of Christ, and the NT technically doesn't begin until the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4 per Hebrews 9:16.

That's right. NT technically didn't begin until the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4.
Brilliant teaching. Thank you!
This just one passage……1 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
Romans 6:3,4; Mark 16:16; John 3:5; and Acts 2:38 all refer to a LITERAL BAPTISM IN WATER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.
Great and biblical answer!
He is The Only One person that we are sure that He went to Heaven. Lord Jesus's word is The Only Truth. How Awesome, Generous, Compassionate and Merciful Our God is, and I understand that if we righteously confess our sins and repent, we will have hope no matter our conditions is.
Are you sure of that? Paradise is not the same as heaven.
Besides Elijah and Enoch…
Mark 12:28-32, John 17:3, John 20:17, Rom 15:6, Rom 16:27, I Cor 8:6, II Cor 11:31, I Tim 2:5, Rev 3:2, Rev 3:12, and many more.
He said TODAY you will be with me, but Christ rose on the third day.
How you define paradise and with are important as well.

Knowing how to "rightfully divide" the Word of God is imperative to understanding truth and to avoid false doctrines.

Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:2-6, Acts 8:12-16
Jesus' disciples including Peter, Paul, Philip, and Ananais all baptized believers in the name of Jesus.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Who gave Jesus that authority??
The Bible (the inspired Word of God {2 Timothy 3:16-17}) gave Him the authority. Want to go deeper? God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself (see below):

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
@@AskJesusSeek u don't see it? Two people? Really? When it reads God And Jesus ,God in himself? When u wrote God reconciled himself through Jesus ?God the spirit unseen is One,God the son Jesus the human flesh two,u dont see that..??
Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
I have heard some pastors say Jesus did not go to heaven that day but to hell between His death and resurrection. If this is true then why would he say to the thief "Today you shall be with Me in paradise"
Can you explain what gospel the thief on the cross obeyed according to Hebrews 4:2?
Thief on the cross died under old covenant, Heb,9:16, also we cannot ride the thief's way,,,,We are not nailed to a tree,,,, Obey, Acts,2:38&10:44-48&Jn,3:5,Acts,19:1-7, Unto what then we're ye baptized,?????
12:30 "... The Spirit of God came.... he felt she had received the Holy Ghost."
This is very challenging.
Praise God

Speaking in tongues is not the only sign of the Spirit
Tongues we're the signs following that Peter acknowledged they had received the Holy Ghost,,,see, Acts, 10:44-48🙏
Could you help clarify this? Explain with biblical references?
It is the INITIAL sign of the Holy Ghost; all who are baptized in the Holy Ghost speaks with other tongues, as stated throughout the book of Acts. Remember Jesus said that these SIGNS shall follow them THAT BELIEVE: in My name they shall cast out devils, THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES" Mark 16:17
The thief died under the old covenant,,,,,see Hebrews, 9:16
There's nothing wrong with admitting when we don't have answers. We're wrong if we leave it at that and never seek for the truth, but we're never going to have a moment wherein we have literally every correct answer.
The thief died under the old covenant,,,see Hebrews 9:16 until the death of the testator
Amen! Exactly right!
@conqueror9965 Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
This verse doesn’t disprove the truth of what i just told you about acts 2:38. Acts 2:38 is a call for a national repentance and baptism for the nation of Israel.
Baptism is not part of the gospel and if it was the apostle Paul was wrong.
1 Corinthians 1:17
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
The book of acts is not a good place to get your doctrine from as it is a transitional book.
In acts 2 the house of Israel get baptized and receive the gift of the holy spirit
Acts 10:47
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
In acts 10 men received the Holy spirit and then got baptized.
Acts 19:5-6
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Here in acts 19 they receive the holy spirit not after they got baptized but after the apostle Paul laid his hand on them.
Today this is how we receive the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
This verse makes it clear that an individual is sealed with the Holy Spirit the moment they believe.
Baptism is a like figure of that salvation 1peter 3:21
Trust the Lord Jesus Christ not your baptism.

You would LOVE to read....Christ Rescued the Thief's Testimony from the "Church of Christ" by Lee Anne Ferguson, for it totally reveals what you are saying in this video....and much more!
If you're emotionally hung up on someone or even the pastor, then stop with the emotions and pray. Get closer to God instead of people
The UPCI and other Oneness groups talk about scripture... personal conviction... and your pastor... it is typical of most Pentecostal folks to literally shun ... and they'll use the verse that says... don't walk with someone who walketh disorderly... your friend is your friend... even if they don't go to your Church. Comply.. the moment you begin to get a footing in Scripture... and you formulate your positions ... you better make sure your sure your 'personal convictions' are goose stepping in sync with the pastor... and don't evaluate him and his teachings...
Pastor is not greater than the Lord❤, Lord Jesus Said beware of false prophets that comes in sheep clothing but from inside they are wolves
Right, Oneness?
Where does it state that the old covenant has no salvation value to it?
Where does it state in scripture that water baptism has nothing to do with salvation?

HEBREWS 10:4
_For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins._
If it was not possible for old covenant blood to take away sins, then it was not possible for one to be eternally saved under the old covenant.
JOHN 4:14
_But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life._
The "water" that saves eternally is the Spirit of Christ, which we receive by faith in him.
1 CORINTHIANS 1:17
_For _*_Christ sent me NOT to baptize, but to preach the gospel:_*_ not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect._
The souls Paul won were won through his preaching of the gospel, and had nothing to do with him dunking people in H2O.
Nice try
Also, the sacrifice of animals was the shadow or type of Christ. Those in the OT died looking forward to Christ and his atonement in blood

_>>> "The OT saints all died without salvation and are eternally condemned to Hell, and then the lake of fire? That's what you're saying."_
Noooooo!!!!!!! I'm saying that they were not saved *under the old covenant.* They were saved the same way that believers today are saved: by faith in the one true God. The difference is that believers today receive the Holy Ghost, and their sins are remembered no more (the _new_ covenant).
And water baptism is a physical act. A work. Being dunked in water (by someone who probably doesn't even believe that *the Father died* and raised himself from the dead, no less) has nothing to do with eternal salvation.
@@euston2216 water baptism in the name of Jesus is a commandment and on the same level of importance as the 1st and 2d commandment.
Peter said that baptism does also now save us.
The thief, and Jesus both Lived and died under the old testament salvation,,,see Hebrews 9:16,,,until the death of the testator.
Jesus Himself Speaks About Hell And How Not To Go There.
In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus describes a rich man that lived lavishly and a poor beggar man named Lazarus. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
LOCATION OF HELL: Jesus said in Matthew 12:40, ”For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH.” Paul said in Ephesians 4:9, ”Now that he ascended, was it but that he also DESCENDED into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF FIRE: Jesus said in Luke 16:24,”….Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue for I am TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME.”
Jesus said in Matthew 13:42,”And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE, there shall be WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.” Jesus said in Matthew 25:41,”Then shall he also say to them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, INTO EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Jesus said in Revelation 20:15,”And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF TORMENT: Jesus said in Luke 16:23,”And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENT….” 24 …..for I am TORMENTED in this flame.” Jesus said in Revelation 14:11,”And the smoke of their TORMENT ascended up FOR EVER AND EVER, and they have no rest day or night….” Jesus said in Mark 9:45-46,”And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off, it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED.
The following is how to not go there and it is a SIMPLE AND EASY thing to do:
All of the book of Acts is what Jesus disciples said what we must to be SAVED - meaning not go to hell, which is repentance, water baptism in Jesus NAME, (NOT the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED, but he that believes not shall be damned."
At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not name's) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS."
Numbers 23:19, ”God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, has he said and shall he not do it? And shall he not make it good?”
Malachi 3:6,”For I am the Lord, I change not...”
Hebrews 13:8,”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” That means there is no reason to think that Jesus will make an exception and save someone that has not been baptized in water in Jesus NAME, and has not been baptized with the Holy Ghost.
The thief on the cross declared. Jesus was God Isiah 43:10>11 kjv. Luke 23:39>40 kjv
It just that simple...the Thief was saved by grace through faith, because Jesus died first, the thief died within the new covanant
What if a trinitarian was baptized in Jesus name and had the holyghost? Is he saved?
No. Because they believe in another gospel. Another Jesus, and they're receiving a different spirit. Not the Spirit of Truth
