What Are Floor Guides and How Do They Work | Doorstuff

  • At Doorstuff we often get questions about the floor guides on our sliding door gear. One of the most common questions is whether the guide needs to go all the way across the opening of the door. As this video shows, often the floor guide sits out of sight in the groove of the door and the floor guide would only need to go across the opening if your door is over 1.5m wide and if it travels further than the width of the door.

    Unrelated question. I see I can shorten bi-fold doors length wise. What about width? Door is about 2 inches wider than I need them to be

      Yes, aesthetically you want to take equal amounts off each side of the bifold doors. If you have a typical double bifold and you need less two inches. Rip a half inch off each side of the four panels. Looks like I'm a year late but hope this helps.
