I just bought 2 bottles of 6.3 for 140 euros each and one of 7.3 for 110 €... I hope I don't regret buying two of 6.3. Good job with the channel keep it up
I did well to listen to you. Six years later I can say that it was a very good purchase. Many thanks for everything. Merry Christmas, greetings from Spain.
Great reviews! I ordered the 6.1 from Master of Malt for about $150US shipped back in January. Haven't opened it yet. After watching I may have to open it soon. Best reviews I've seen on the Octomore series!
So are the Black Arts better than the Octomore line? What is the hands down best Bruichladdich that y'all have tasted? I just picked up an Octomore 7.3 and a 9.3. But wondering if I should try to get a Black Arts 4 or 6?
Thanks for reviewing this lineup! I have a 6.3 open and I love it, although it took the better part of a year for it to get to the sweet spot where it is right now. I haven't opened my 7.1 yet, but after watching this review I am now dying to compare them.
Have you tried the 8.2? It’s my favorite so far, better than the 7.3 by some distance. Absolutely opulent, viscous. Ordered a second bottle right away.
Enjoyed the reviews, I've only had a bottle of the 6.3. I agree with most of what you said, but not your speculation on casks. Highly doubt either wine finish or char. Second fill bourbon would be my guess.
You'll definitely need to get a bottle and sit with it for a bit longer so you aren't rushing through exploring these. Give the 10yo a go if you can get your hands on it too!
W6, never had any of the Octomores. So many to choose from. Its amazing what they can get out after just 5 years. Did Jeremy have the chance to taste the OP 35? Great review Rob.
7.1 is $141 and 7.4 is $145 shipped in Edmonton, Alberta right now. Wondering if I should try one of those or the port charlotte 2nd LE 10year first. I've had the Bruichladdich 2nd LE 10 and really liked it.
Great review guys! So jealous you got to try all 4 at once. I have the 7.1, but based off of your review, I need to get my hands on the 6.3. I wonder if the differences in ABV comes from aging in different sizes of casks (Butts vs. Hogshead)?
I was very lucky that Jeremy had the bottles and was willing to do the tasting. It seems very possible, that different casks were used here. Thanks for watching Bryan.
show off ! but alright, i scraped off some cinders from my chimney into a Laphraoig-10 cask strength, shake it, and let it marry/sit for 2 days - then serve = my DECAMORE ! ! ! (Haha, octo=8, deca=10 ! ! )
Very informative review W6. "Punched in the face with Peat!" put it on a tshirt. Happy you got your hog. looking forward to your love show on it. see what I did there? Art of persuasion.
Yes. The finesse is outstanding. 7.4 blew my mind. Thanks.
I'm very interested in the 7.4.
Whisky In The 6 was interested in 7.4 but found the 7.2 on master of malt the syrah wine cask just intrigued me so much more
Brandon Rodriguez ya makes sense bud. I want to try them all.

+pablo lopez you’ll love the 6.3

Great tasting, guys. Quick question from a newbie peathead... Octomore compared to Uigeadail, which do you think is a more intense experience?
Octomore has more peat parts per million but it’s a completely different style of peat. I’d say octomore though.
Thanks!

Just found a bottle of the 7.1 here in San Diego today, it was a tough $180 pill to swallow, can't wait to dive into this monster.
You will enjoy it I bet
Hey what store did you get that Octomore from in San Diego. I am currently looking for some right now myself?
Great review guys. Havn't made the plunge yet but Christmas is coming and I thought that would be a good excuse to buy myself my first Octomore!....
Solid Christmas dram.
Hey Rob. Found a dusty bottle of Octomore 7.1 on a shelf in Thailand. Worth $400Cdn in your opinion or better to pick up a current release?
From my experience the .3s are always better than the .1s from any release.
So are the Black Arts better than the Octomore line? What is the hands down best

They are all so good. I was floored.

Haven’t tried any of the .2s
Love how they list the ppm. Fun review!
Robert Horovitz thanks Robby!
*The bottles I got from Alberta were purchased and shipped to me personally from a friend for personal consumption
Rob...Looks like your getting a good buzz going on that last dram. Maybe thats why you like it the best!.:))
Lol maybe.
Enjoyed the review-thanks Have you tried any of the 10 year old Octomores?
Yep! Solid stuff.
Enjoyed the reviews, I've only had a bottle of the 6.3. I agree with most of what you said, but not your speculation on casks. Highly doubt either wine finish or char. Second fill bourbon would be my guess.
I wish we knew for certain.
True but speculation is fun too. I'll be there in a month maybe ok I'll remember to ask.
Nice one Rob!!
Chasing Classic Whiskies cheers!
Hey Rob how is the 7.1 from all is it worth the money ?
Leonid Notik I would say the 7.1 is definitely worth the money. Solid stuff.
Rob just one more question : does it have same older spirits how do you feel about it 5 yo doesn't mean that all the whiskey there are 5 yo right ?
Honestly it makes me happy knowing they achieved such a beautiful, high quality whisky that is mostly 5 years of age.
You'll definitely need to get a bottle and sit with it for a bit longer so you aren't rushing through exploring these. Give the 10yo a go if you can get your hands on it too!
ya these ones are a 4 or 5 dram decision. The 10 is super hard to find around here.

Keith Petersen I don't think he did Keith. Thanks buddy.

Whisky In The 6
But which one first lol
What lineup there Rob. Gonna ask Santa for an Octomore this year. Thanks guys
I'm going to be asking Santa for the same.
I paid $150 US for the 06.1 and find it outstanding.
Holcombi ya 6.1 is great. 6.3 even better.
unfortunately 06,1 is the only Octomore I have been able to come across, I would love to buy all 4 though.
Holcombi where do you live?
nice, see a lot of familiar reddit names on the TWS website.
They are good guys.
I want Octomore Cologne
Cars Cigars Scotch N Watches lol!

Great review boys! Make some "Pepperiness" shirts!
lol not a bad idea.
the 7.3 is absolutely my favorite. Unfortunately it's very unaffordable.
It's really expensive stuff.
Octomore the prices say what
FYI all of Octomore is the most heavily peated of all time. They keep beating their own record, but still the most!
Good times :)
There is only 1 good whisky reviewer on youtube, it's Ralfy. These two dopes would be more at home reviewing ladies toiletries.
Lol gee thanks.
10.4 beat the 12 other Octomore's I have owned!
show off ! but alright, i scraped off some cinders from my chimney into a Laphraoig-10 cask strength, shake it, and let it marry/sit for 2 days - then serve = my DECAMORE ! ! ! (Haha, octo=8, deca=10 ! ! )
