I haven’t read all the comments.. but the 15 year for me was exactly what you said .. the first nose and taste wasn’t impressive… once opened for 4-6 hours it became a pleasure! Definitely needs to open up and then it is amazing .. keep up the amazing work ! 👊

Awesome rundown Rob. This distillery has almost been a victim of the sheer number of releases for me. So many intriguing bottles, I just can't really decide, so so far I've not pulled the trigger on any of them. Soon though
Need some of that port finish, by your description and color I assume they used good quality port pipes that contained Ruby Port which is very fruit forward....time to snag a bottle.
Great review....The current range is very good... the CS (Batch 1 &2 ...not tried 3 yet) and 10yr Port Wood being my favourites . I find the single cask port pipe releases are very good also... currently got the 2007 (11yr 60%abv) on the go also. ...
Looking good only had the 12 but it's outstanding. Curious if you have ever used a empty clean bottle to split a new bottle in half so it can open up letting the split bottles sit for a week or two then trying them? When you described the 15 made me think of it. Cheers
Nice one Rob! I'm glad Billy Walker landed at this distillery. I've had 2 of the bottlings so far. The 15yr was my least favorite scotch I had last year. It just did not connect with me. The flavors were a mess and the sherry didn't come through like I thought it would. I got a weird metallic finish on it that I didn't like at all. The Ralfy port single cask was the other and it was better than the 15yr but still underperformed and the flavors didn't work for me. It had same metallic note on finish. I still have the 13yr PX 6580 and 15yr oloroso 6213 from Batch 2 that I'm hoping I'll like better. Maybe it's the cask finishing that I'm not liking instead of fully matured sherry? Cheers

I bet I’d take the Glenallachie 12 over the Glendronach 12. Possibly even the 18 over the 18. I could see why you like the Glendronach 15 more than the Glenallachie 15 though.
when you said "peaches" i thought you said peat jizz, and my immediate thought was "ew" but then as i thought about it i realized that if peat jizzed it would taste awesome
