I woke up every morning at 4am to get ready for school I was dressed by 5:30am and out the door at 6 on the dot because my bus came at 6:15. My bus stop was a block from my house so it never took me long to walk there in the morning. One day as I stood on the sidewalk, I was getting a little impatient because my bus driver was taking so long, like this was the first time I had experienced him being late.(at the time I had only been at that school for two weeks & it was really really cold outside.) It was already 6:30 and he still wasn't there so I thought to myself, maybe I should go back home, but I also thought that since he was already running late I bet as soon as I get home he's going to drive past. So I just stayed there, the reason I was at that school(it's an Academy school to raise your credits.)was because of my attendance at my old school so I really couldn't miss another school day. I waited and waited, then I noticed a cab, I wasn't surprised because I saw this cab every morning, he picked up this old lady and took her to work is what I assumed, but as he was leaving her house, he stopped in the middle of the road and started talking to me. I was super confused & honestly scared, this is how our conversation went.
(Him: Hello there
Me: Hi
Him: I see you out here every morning what you doing?
Me: I'm waiting on the bus.
Him: Ah the bus to work?
Me: No the bus to school.
Him: Ooohhh
Me: Yeah.
Him: Wanna get in my car?
Me: Oh no I'm fine.)
At this point he was holding up traffic and he waited a bit but then drove off. It might not seem serious but that was the first time in my life that I had ever experienced something like that and I might be a little overdramatic but it scared me to death, my heart was beating super fast and just all those TV shows and stuff on the news like my hands literally started shaking. Believe it or not my bus pulled up five minutes after that and he apologized for being late. I got to school and called my mom after that and told her what happened and asked her to walk to the bus stop with me every morning because I was terrified, I mean I saw this cab every single day since I had started going to that school and I just wasn't comfortable walking alone. Luckily for me tho we moved and I now do online school. My mom said that I should've just ignored him but for some reason I can't ignore grown ups, I think it was just natural for me to reply & answer questions, I was only 15 at the time and I have a lot of respect for older people so I guess I couldn't help but just answer his questions or I would've felt like I was being disrespectful. The convo was short but it felt like forever I remember everything clearly and I just hope nothing like that ever happens again.
Too long I only read a bit but yeah that's not as serious as I thought but you just did something right, good person or not, never say yes to a stranger.
