Use this technique i once used when i was a kid. A man came and said he was my moms friend but i never saw him and my parents werent home so i asked him if i could take a picture of him through the door and ask my mom if she knows him.(we have two doors, the first one is out of glass) and he ran. My mom didn't know him.
