    This build has so many curves and that's before the car is even on the road. A lot of people get fired up over these big jobs, and especially when it's long term job the audience has a tendency to get a little more ornery. • @niclas.lindstrom
    @niclas.lindstrom 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Your mechanic guy said that there is positive pressure in the cranc case caused by the pistons. That is not the as you have the same amount of pistons moving upwards as the ones moving downwards at any point in time. What the cranc case ventilation does is to apply vacuum to the cranc case to suck out any fumes and combust them completely within the cylinders. Positive cranc case pressure is prevented by check valves called PCV valves and that is necessary on turbo engines as you dont have vacuum available at all times. If that PCV is faulty then you build up cranc case pressure under boost which would case smoking like yours. So he was right when he said that if the PCVs get stuck in open position it would cause smoking like that, but not for the reason he mentioned. So you don't have a "positive cranc case ventilation" system, you have a cranc case ventilation system that only works with vacuum so you have Positive Cranc case Valves to prevent positive cranc case pressure while venting into the intake (as that would introduce oil into the intake).
    The cranc case ventilation system is an emission thing and your motor don't really want it, but the government do. Race cars usually don't apply vacuum to the cranc case but have a different system that vent fumes to the atmosphere instead via a catch tank and some type of filter. But that is not allowed on a street production car.

      @TheInja I'm no expert by any means but the few repair/performance shops that I've seen for the McClaren engines have stated that parts like the push rods were poorly designed causing them to slightly bend if not exit the engine through the side wall

      @@3613jeremy Yeah for sure, I'm not an expert either, from real owners I know they've never had problems. I've seen that tavarish video, too. They were mainly talking about when you are trying to push the rods above stock or really abusing them.

  • @fiveleafcloverfpv4445
    @fiveleafcloverfpv4445 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

    😅 Hate it when the problem solves while it shouldn't.
    Direct smoke is directly burning oil in the combustion. Exhaust still cold so can't be that one.
    Looks like after a while still some oil collects somewhere but also could be some remaining oil in the intake /intercooler.
    Drive it or flush it will sort that out.
    Excessive crank pressure can cause the turbo seals to leak. Doesn't have to damage them.
    Leaks are on the intake mostly I think because the back pressure on the seals is lower than the exhaust.
    Oil flows right into the compressor side into the Intercooler and intake.
    Hopefully you already solved it some how.

    Well looking more positive and less smokey now. Too much oil can do that so like you said maybe it will clear up as it runs and burns off the residual oil leaking into the system from being too full. I'd definitely put an analog oil pressure quage on it then replace the switch if everything is good. The codes may take care of themselves as you get everything else hooked up and the switch dealt with. Computers can get pretty wonky if they don't see the values they expect. My old ex 95 Neon coupe I used to drive frew all kinds of weird codes when the crank position sensor started cutting out when it got hot. Once I replaced it with a good one all the codes cleared out and it ran fine again hot or cold. That was a very early OBD2 car, yours is so much more complex so much more picky.
    I think you're on the down slope now and so close to sorting it 👍😎
