Geoff did a fantastic job with this whole SGF. He was so comfortable talking this time compared to last year, I'm glad he had an audience to speak to. MK1 and FF7 Rebirth was EVERYTHING 🔥🔥🔥
One of the more impressive things I've noticed that he improved on this year is rolling off of a joke that didn't land, particularly after Toxic Commando. No awkward prolonged silences, just immediately realizing it didn't work and smoothly rolling into the next thing. That takes a lot of skill as a host, and while he's struggled with that in the past, he nailed it this time.
Geoff Keighley is such a treasure to the gaming community. Dude managed to basically save the concept of a general games showcase in an age where it was increasingly looking like publishers/platforms would keep all their stuff for their own in-house presentations. As well as just genuinely being a great host with a long history in the industry and a ton of positive connections with other industry veterans. And he does all this while still feeling like he’s in the know and genuinely a part of the gaming community. He worked his ass off to get to this position in the industry and he deserves all the credit in the world for what he’s managed to do.

Whatever you think about summer game fest and the game awards i always really appreciate the amount of effort Geoff puts in these events trying to bring gamers together and celebrate gaming as a whole and pushing it as an industry that should be respected in media.
Geoff is a man of the people. He knows the gaming community pretty well. He would not disappoint the fans during E3 season (RIP E3). we are lucky to have him for sure.
Max is an amazing broadcaster in the sense that he seems to fully be himself while over time finding that great timing and rhythm. It doesn't hurt that he seems like a really nice dude. Reminds me of all the best qualities of some of my closest friends. I have a similar energy and humor. Playing video games with your buddies was a great time, growing up. I was thinking about it earlier today and.. For whatever reason, times playing FF games and especially FF7 - Events like these, like the Remake announcement in 2015 and all the reveals after...They're times I'll always remember. Yesterday was a great day.

Summerfest kind of proved the rumors with Sony holding back with their showcase is true Spider Man 2 and FF7 Rebirth are PS exclusives but they were smart enough to involve themselves with Summerfest...
Mk1s style is such a nice step up from 11, where it looked like injustice world with MK characters, (seriously, Kronikas just a low tier DC villain lol). This looks way more like proper shaolin/medievil/metal that mortal kombat is known for.
Gotta give it to Geoff, the events in previous years were not that great, but the last Game Awards and this was fantastic, the games shown, the pacing, his enthusiasm and respect when talking about certain franchises, and even how he seemed to want to get a lot of good info from the developers on stage, it was great, hope it keeps up on next events.
Did you know their are some people screaming that they hated the show because there were no female representation. People just can't be happy and enjoy the show. They always want to find flaws in everything. Great job Summer Games Fest it was a great show.

I think this was way better then the PS Showcase and even Geoffs SGF last year. The big thing for me was not just the games they had (FF7, MK1, Sonic and a few more) but the fact stuff had actual gameplay. I understand it's tough to get a gameplay trailer out for a showcase but when pretty much everything shown had even a bit of gameplay and I could tell what it was, I'd say that's a solid showing. 3.5/5
While I was just innocently sitting here, playing Diablo IV, watching Max’s reaction to the Summer Game Fest, I’m suddenly hit by him saying “Plant a flower, you daft bitch.” That really spoke to me.
Geoff has come such a long way. I remember back when he was trying his damnedest to not lose his shit in anything he showed up on during the early Game Trailers days, to now being the behemoth of gaming presentation that he has become. As people have mentioned, the Final Fantasy DoorDash thing being so smooth to being able to ask relevant questions during the interviews is great. I'm glad that the one and only Doritos Pope got redeemed in the best possible way.

Whatever you think about summer game fest and the game awards i always really appreciate the amount of effort Geoff puts in these events trying to bring gamers together and celebrate gaming as a whole and pushing it as an industry that should be respected in media.
Geoff is a man of the people. He knows the gaming community pretty well. He would not disappoint the fans during E3 season (RIP E3). we are lucky to have him for sure.

Max is an amazing broadcaster in the sense that he seems to fully be himself while over time finding that great timing and rhythm. It doesn't hurt that he seems like a really nice dude. Reminds me of all the best qualities of some of my closest friends. I have a similar energy and humor. Playing video games with your buddies was a great time, growing up. I was thinking about it earlier today and.. For whatever reason, times playing FF games and especially FF7 - Events like these, like the Remake announcement in 2015 and all the reveals after...They're times I'll always remember. Yesterday was a great day.

Gotta give it to Geoff, the events in previous years were not that great, but the last Game Awards and this was fantastic, the games shown, the pacing, his enthusiasm and respect when talking about certain franchises, and even how he seemed to want to get a lot of good info from the developers on stage, it was great, hope it keeps up on next events.
Did you know their are some people screaming that they hated the show because there were no female representation. People just can't be happy and enjoy the show. They always want to find flaws in everything. Great job Summer Games Fest it was a great show.

If you ever want to try any Warhammer games: Warhammer Vermintide 2, Boltgun, Space Marine 1, Mechanicus, Dawn of War 1 and 2, Battlefleet Gothic Armada, Chaos Gate Daemon Hunter, Total War Warhammer. I'm probably missing some but those are off the top of my head.

Its insane to me how many of the gameplay clips show framerate issues so openly. That's kind of a bad sign.
I think this was way better then the PS Showcase and even Geoffs SGF last year. The big thing for me was not just the games they had (FF7, MK1, Sonic and a few more) but the fact stuff had actual gameplay. I understand it's tough to get a gameplay trailer out for a showcase but when pretty much everything shown had even a bit of gameplay and I could tell what it was, I'd say that's a solid showing. 3.5/5

I remember back when he was trying his damnedest to not lose his shit in anything he showed up on during the early Game Trailers days, to now being the behemoth of gaming presentation that he has become. As people have mentioned, the Final Fantasy DoorDash thing being so smooth to being able to ask relevant questions during the interviews is great. I'm glad that the one and only Doritos Pope got redeemed in the best possible way.
