I could pick out a Bill Garden design, but couldn't pick Bill out of a crowd until this video. What a gift he is to the boat world. Many thanks for this great video.

I just love Bill Gardens designs. They have a very definite sassy, classy elegance about them, that just makes one dream of sailing back in the days before power! May he forever urge the good Lord to re-design the Ark. With his eye for beauty and elegance, I am sure that we would have Unicorns among us today! Thank you Mr Garden, for bringing out the beauty of the sea, by bringing us the most beautiful vessels to ever sail the seas!

Am a Bill Garden fan - in the early 70's I had surveyed his earliest sailboat that I was told he built himself - Kelpie, sweet boat, but too much rot in the beautifully tapered transom, ended up buying an Alden Malabar Jr "Interlude" - this was in Seattle. In ~ 1979 I bought Puffin a Bill Garden designed Vashon Island cutter that had twice been to the south Pacific. Bought her in Port Townsend - took her to Sausalito. Have talked to her current owner recently who has her in great condition in Washington.

Yes, a beautiful video, and beautiful man. I love Tlingit and Caption Teach . I have a scale model of Tlingit hanging in my shop, half finished, the lines laid down on plywood at 3" scale. I look at it often, and hope I get to it someday. It would look so fine on Lake Chelan. Meanwhile, keep your bevels under. cheers, bob

Is he a genius designer? Or is he a genius artist? Or both?
