Beautiful French Country Crochet Blanket | Granny Squares | Full Tutorial

Let me show you how to achieve a minimalist, French country, feminine crochet blanket. This blanket involves two simple granny squares - all in the same colour of yarn. The subtle contrast of the stitching line and square knots add a dimensional charm to this granny square blanket. This is pattern is suitable for intermediate beginner crocheters.
To make this blanket you will need one large ball (i.e., 340 g and 573 yards) of 100% cotton weight no .4 yarn, a 5.50 mm crochet hook and a 6.00 mm crochet hook.

The square knots on this blanket pose a choking hazard if they become loose or detached. If at any time there are signs of wear and tear of the blanket or there are loose parts, the blanket should either be repaired, retired until the child is old enough to not put loose parts in their mouth, or discarded of.
Babies, infants and toddlers should not be left unattended with this blanket. It is not recommended that an infant use a blanket while sleeping. This blanket is made small so that it can be used for play or while in the stroller or car seat when the weather is appropriate AND under full supervision.

So soft and beautiful. I can really see this as a soft semi structured drape softly wrapped around the baby as he rests in an old fashioned bassinet in the shade of a willow tree in the backyard as Mommy weeds in the garden.
