Great interview. Joe should really let his personality shine through in the post game’s this year. Understandably, he seemed really combative last year and this made him more likeable. You should interview Spo if you can.
As a long time Boston fan, so happy Brad didn’t listen to the locals and held onto Joe. He was put in a tough situation last year, granted great team but absolutely thrown in the deep end with zero prep. Excited for 2024! JJ, it would be a DREAM to have you on the C’s coaching staff! A ton of great golf courses here in Mass! 😅
"Analytics do go out the window in the playoffs, because the sample size is much smaller." Joe Mazzulla. Thank you for saying that. I've been saying that forever. I feel validated now. lol
This interview kinda humanized joe for me, usually all you see is him kinda being belichick like in post game pressers, this was dope. Jj is the best media person in sports.
It's kinda crazy how comments like these are more and more common. Like I know they don't really have a personality when they're on TV cause they're at work but the idea of not really looking at someone like a regular human until they start talking is pretty wild. Everyone is human

Coming back to this video after the Celtics won the championship starts putting things into place. What Mazzulla was able to do with this team was amazing: he not only instilled this sense of determination & dedication to just winning, no matter how or who did it, I think he genuinely made all these guys into friends. Their team chemistry is off the charts & clearly everyone respects each other greatly & just wants the team to win as a whole, because they know that they’ll all be happy together. Combine that mindset with Mazzulla’s naturally & insanely analytical thought processes, this team was absolutely enhanced by this young coach. Bravo Joe, you are a model coach by which others will hopefully aspire to be like 👏👏

I think he’s gonna do great this year having a whole off season to reflect on last year. People forget about how this guy had no idea he was going to be the HC until a week out of training camp. Not to mention Joe was able to select his coaching staff this year, rather than having Ime’s. The Celtics should be fun to watch this year

He reminds me of Mike McDaniels: clear communicator, intelligent, funny, and a bit of a odd guy, but odd in a way that shows confidence in and comfort with who they are and what they believe in.
Now I really want him to bring on Mike McDaniel onto the show. I don’t care if there’s no overlap between them, but not only has he interviewed individuals who are way less off the beaten path, but it would make for an oddly interesting episode if so
So many coaches with star studded great teams have failed to win the big one... The fact Joe got it done and so quickly is such a testament to his coaching abilities, says it all. No way this young man does not continue to succeed... I just hopes its with the Celtics He is absolutely the real deal

In my "opinion" [such as it is], Mazulla's humility is THE reason the Celtics gained perspective & gelled. LOVE the no-dribble practices & old-school fundamentals & identity.
