Dear ma, I am a Brahmin too. Allow me to respond to you. As my amma passed away and I had to do detailed rituals, right from her passing away and maasigams and Varushapdhigams. I had done this for several years now. Recently I started meditation and had the fortune of knowing the truth about spirituality and after death. I can talk for hours. But I learnt from the enlightened masters is that by doing all thithi and rituals there is no use for the people who left. They can only help us, in fact they want us to be happy and they can help us. But we can't help them in any way. Even by doing virtuals. So rest assured, you don't have to do any of these rituals. After I start to practice Anapanadati meditation, I stopped all rituals.. Trust me Nikhilan is 100 percent correct.
