Serena Williams was the female guard Ming who was kind to Iroh. She was a huge fan of the show.
Also Azula was the one who knew about the invasion plans, not Zuko. Zuko learned something else at the fire nation war council that truly sparked his defection.
Just as the sun is sure to rise, so is somebody in the comments telling people it is serena williams

@@gravityweights4009 There is a long youtube reaction vid 'tradition' that states that anyone reacting to ATLA for the first time will inevitably start saying "This is NOT a kids show" when some of the heavier themes start coming up. and every youtube reactor i've ever seen says it at least once during the series. So apparently its become a thing. a small, not universally known thing, but a thing nonetheless.
the thing with zuko is that even Iroh saying he had to choose his own destiny, Zuko didn't get to taste the acception he was seeking, so it felt like a failure. BUT when he had the chance to feel that acception, he was able to realize that it was not his destiny, and then listen to what Iroh said
Iroh told Zuko to choose what he really wanted. The problem was what Zuko really wanted was to go home and be with his dad. Zuko had to learn his personal history and sit on the war meeting to realize what he had to do
@@MrKingYuji I always loved this choice for the show. It would have been so much easier and more cliche for a redemption arc for Zuko to just "choose to be on the good side just because" like most other shows would do. Instead, they basically let Zuko get what he always wanted and then have to deal with the fact that it wasn't actually what he wanted, and it didn't make him feel like how he thought it would.
The reason the Fire Nation was prepared for the invasion was because in Season 2, the Earth King told Azula about the eclipse plan while she was disguised as a Kyoshi warrior

they really went all-out on the animation budget for these episodes and the finale. and then korra looks so freakin' CRISP. sooooo glad you guys are going to continue with that one, it's very much worth it
One of the best episodes, epic battle going on, the Kataang kiss that's been a long time coming, Zuko's redemption coming round finally. We got Luv, Action, character 😁👍

Also, the Fire Nation would want to keep Aang alive, because killing him would force them to restart the search for the Next Avatar in the Water Tribe. So keeping him locked up until he naturally dies is their best bet
Never realized this before, but the scene with Zuko talking to his mother's portrait before he basically goes to leave the Fire Nation behind mirrors the scene when his mother spoke to him before she was banished, that we see in Zuko Alone (2x7).
Down to the bedroom where it happened, the hood, and the camera angle.

The Boulder "Negatory" has been living rent free in my head ever since the episode dropped. Also... There's such a eerie and chilling feeling when they're all hunkered down in the tanks, you just can feel the fear in everybody... For a kids show it was such a realistic portrayal.
