I was an iPhone user since the 3GS but made the switch to Android about 4 years ago. This year I made the switch back to iPhone with the 14 Pro and I'm loving it. I love both systems. But there's just something about the fluidity of Apple that is a pleasure to use. Sure it's a bit simpler than Android but I'm 36, I want a simple life 😅 Still got a lot of love for Android but I'm happy in Apple land for now...
I have always exclusively used Android (Samsung) phones, but I was drawn to the 14 Pro. It has been pretty difficult to get used to how "limited" IOS is (I really don't like the entire iTunes music and photo syncing, the way the photo gallery works, how u have to go in settings to change the wallpaper, etc.). But now I'm in that stage where I got used to it, and started appreciating the fluidity of the system so much, that I can settle for the "limited" operating system. I do miss the many options and QoL functions my previous phones had, so I'm hoping for iOS to become a bit more 'technical' than this.
I am and always will be an android user! But regardless of what side you sit on both OS are incredibly fluid and seemless. The beauty is the competition! They force each other be better. If apple continued to dominate the market like it did in the earlier years we wouldn't have all this innovation like we do now!
It’s nice to see people that can appreciate the strengths of each platform and be grateful that the competition has made both better rather than it just being a “android is fragmented trash, iOS is for apple sheep” type petty nonsense.
@Tylor Smith what are you talking about? Why did you think it was a good idea to comment phone war shit under a post about how both phones get better after the other one does?
I have a galaxy S21 Ultra so tell me the iPhone 14pro is it better? I've always been Samsung. I just ordered one to try it I'm scared because I hate not having a back button. What's your thoughts?
@@ShadowKillerD I just made the switch from my s21 ultra 16 gb ram version to the 1tb 14 pro max , at first I was iffy just like you after using the s line since the s3 and the last iPhone being the 3G lol. At first you do feel the difference of the pixel density and the screen resolution but you kind of start getting use to the apple os. My major concern was not being able to download torrents and do things freely but I found a way around all that so I’d say I’m pretty happy, didn’t go with the 22 ultra because I’m not a fan of the note line but more so the s line and the 22 ultra just doesn’t look attractive like the 14 pro max but both great phones
Only on AOD. Something strange about that. Samsung phones have had this throttling of refresh rate for a long time before Apple and even they only go down to 1hz on the AOD. I guess the shift from 1 to 120hz in actual operation might look a little jarring? Not sure why it's limited.
@Joe Shmoe I thought the transitions were instant the second the phone screen is touched. I don't pretend to be an expert, I just figured it'd be possible. I don't notice the screen going from 60hz to 120hz or anything like that when changing through content on my phone, so I thought maybe 1hz to 120hz would work, but that makes sense. I do know samsung had ltpo only one year before apple, but that is a lot of time. It doesn't make sense that you still get jank with it when loading videos on Twitter. The Twitter scroll lag is horrible to begin with on Samsung phones but then when I got my first ltpo (s22 ultra) it fucks up any time there's a video on Twitter feed. Google pixel can scroll just fine on Twitter. I just don't understand how animations and this crap are so bad on Samsung compared to iphone. This is the one case where I agree that "apple waits until it's perfect to implement it" Usually that just means apple is slow af and behind on features. In this case, I do think they delivered a way better high refresh rate experience. I don't even know what this original conversation was about so sorry for rambling.
I don't think this was intended as an improvement. I'm sure they could've made the AOD go down to 1hz on previous devices, but they probably had no reason to do so because the battery life was already competitive with other phones. The 14 has noticeably worse battery life so they are just doing what they can to try and negate it as much as possible.
I had been a devoted Samsung Galaxy user since the S3 but this year I switched for the first time ever to the iPhone. I got the 14 Pro and I am absolutely loving it. I don’t see myself going back. Good review Mate!
@@jitterrypokery1526 like same, been Android user for life and been thinking about switching to ios but lightning port limitation is what holding me back
@@iAfroTech lightning port is the 1st hurdle for me to switch, don't know about the others cause I haven't tried ios that far to be able to assess it vs android
Made the switch about 2 years ago with the 12 Pro Max and got my 14 Pro Max a week ago.. absolutely loved the experience and love it even more with my 14 pro max now. I like androids but i have to say with ios i don't miss android one bit even with it's “superior“ customisability and freedom. Everything just works, cameras are reliable, just point and shoot. Everything seems fluid and smooth.. i don't even remember the last time my phone lagged, especially to the point where i'd need to reset it.. something i can't say about android (judging from my past experiences). i wanted to see how ios feels and i don't regret it a bit. Maybe i'll switch back one day, who knows.
If you have an android phone that crashes in 2023 you are in the very very small minority of people. That's extremely unlucky. When I go to iphone I can't do many of the things I want to do. So it's not even a possibility for me. Also I hate the screen compared to the vibrant and less interrupted samsung screen. I hate how nothing looks good on an iPhone screen. Biggest gripe. Iphone is great though.
I just switched from the pixel 6 to the regular 14 and I forgot how smooth iOS was. The battery on this thing is amazing. After 13 hrs of moderate/heavy use I was at 37%.
similar story here, i'm switching from a pixel 6 pro to iphone 14 pro, it comes tomorrow, i'm soooo excited i used android for 8 years before this, haven't seen ios since my iphone 5 can't wait to see how far it's come
update:i fell and sprained my ankle walking up the steps with the package in hand (it's okay) but other than that the transition has been easy. i see what i've been missing, this thing is awesome
As a life-long android user who has appreciated android from its infancy that forced me to learn how to root, use performance scripts and xposed mods, your perspective on iPhone is what I look most forward to. The force is always strong with iPhone (appeal and the things they get right) but somehow, I always gravitate back home ;) Brilliant review and the animations/visual style is aesthetically fluid!
Android is for the people who push the limits of customization, tasks, and enjoy more different types of niche. Iphones for how simplistic they are with the normal everyday features that a person uses. Focus on refining simplistic aspect. I love android products because the limitations are limitless per say. But I just use my phone for videos, photos, texting, games, and well normal things, and thats why I rode with apple for a long time.
@@kernersvilleinternet1511 Very well put, I do agree. I guess as I'm aging I am leaning more towards simplicity but I still like the open nature of android.
@@Deathsead747 Android needs to exist because of its open nature, and without it, there will not be innovation and expansion of the limitless things we are capable of to this day.
@@kernersvilleinternet1511 nailed it. If you are anywhat technically inclined the iPhone is a complete restrictive experience which blows. It's made for people that don't know technology and therefore don't know what a phone is capable of doing.
@@supaahflyy I would say 80% of people are technically inclined. Cause I see my parent's who were born before the rise of tech in the 2000s can't understand the possibility of what I was exposed to growing up in this age. I Use an Iphone believe it or not. But I have used the latest and greatest innovations of Android and Samsung. I just recently got the Iphone 14 pro max in a 1TB form cause I plan to do nothing with it other than record moments. But at home and work I use strictly Windows because I like to mod, script, code and upgrade hardware. I use my phone as entertainment. While if I had samsung I was using it for business trips, managing docs and projects, jailbreaking, and many other things when I used to work for that type of setting. I will say, If there are more significant changes to the Z Fold phones from samsung I would be trading in my 14 Pro Max in a heartbeat. Samsung's OLED tech is already and going to change the way phones will be in the future.
What i found most interesting from switching from android to the iphone 14 pro max is that the notification are waaay better. Atleast from my expierence. A notification comes way faster and works just overall more accurate. I know understand why people love the iphone so much in general.
What a crazy video recommendation! I’m a long time Android user who just switch to the iPhone 14 Pro Max YESTERDAY! I’m in love! I went from an S10 to a 14 Pro Max. It took only a few hours of exploring to understand everything but I can’t see myself witch back to Android ever again.
@@wasiahmed1547 you’ve clearly not seen all the comparisons where the 48mp raw mode on the iPhone absolutely destroys the 108mp sensor on the s22 ultra 😂
@@ESKATEUK it does lol and trust me I just switched to the 14 pro after 9 months of s22u , lack of raw option for the 108 mp mode and it being a smaller sensor, I definitely see the 48 mp as a lot better
@@ztfilms5047 exactly that mate, it’s not even close. A lot of Samsung fan boys just see bigger numbers and think it must be better. So uneducated, they fall for any gimmick. I’ve been doing photography for 15 years and have owned many professionaL DSLR cameras and I often get told by Samsung boys that I need to learn about photography because I think the iPhone is better 😂
The camera is so much better than last year if you’re into photography. If you shoot RAW and edit your photos it is sooooooo much better its insane. The detail you get out of this camera is simply unmatched.
I think another big thing to consider is how well the Apple family cooperates and shares between devices. I really have always appreciated whether I'm on my phone or computer, there's a shared functionality and organization between the two. Not to mention if you get a watch or iPad. It is cool to see that Androids seem to not feel... cheap when using the OS as compared to previous models.
there sort of is, except its not a button, put your finger on the left corner of the screen and swipe right, i probably explained it horribly but you get the idea
A refreshingly unbiased review by an Android user 👏, however you missed out the biggest camera improvements, which are in night time (needs to be set manually for best results) and the pro raw photos, which is a huge improvement on 13 pro, photo's are also generally sharper and more detailed on the 14 Pro, however sadly, the new software engine isn't optimised yet
With the addition of an always on display there are only two things I want Apple to add to make the transition from Android much easier. The ability to swipe down or up from anywhere on the home screen to access notifications and allow for the swipe from left side of the screen to go back gesture to be toggled to the right edge instead. As these phones get bigger it's absolutely idiotic to need to reach across the entire screen to go back. Just let it be a toggle hidden deep somewhere so only those who really want that can do it.
This is the reason I won't use an iPhone. It forces me to use both hands. My s22 ultra is fucking incredible for one hand use. It's a shame the s22 ultra system animations are so lacking. I love iphone and what it offers but whenever I try one, it takes 4 more steps to do everything and none of those steps are ergonomic
Iphone features something known as "reachability" which is specifically designed to allow you to use the phone with one hand without having to shuffle it in your hand to reach all areas of the screen.
@ToriandTyler'sTravels their one handed mode helps but it's not as good as oneui's and I'm not saying that as a fanboy of samsung because there are plenty of flaws, but in this matter I think oneui has better gestures and one handed modes. Samsung even has an optional app you can download called one handed +
You nailed it ! That's exactly what they need to add. It's idiotic to go to the left upper part of the screen to go back... and one more think - notifications. They also need to be more intuitive. Otherwise - great
Well, you can change settings and hide the wallpaper on the always-on display. It’s an option that Apple has already added. So you either choose transparency or dark!
I don’t know about other carriers but when I got my android, updates rely on the carrier I remember getting the Galaxy S10 Plus when it came out and every time there’s a new android version it takes 1 Year after for it to arrive after launch except for security updates. I moved to IPhone and updates arrive as advertised
@no it depends where you live. In Europe, in France where i live, we mostly buy phone in Tech store and not by our carriers. Updates don’t depends on Orange, Sfr, Free or Bouygues. 😉 It seems different in US
Man the quality of production, and even on the app is just. *chefs kiss* beautiful. Legendary. An art school grad wouldn't even do this. You gotta have passion for this, not be forced by deadlines.
I actually have noticed that my iPhone images have gotten more processed looking and you can really tell when you view the image before the processing finishes if you’re fast enough to catch it
I had a similar experience I was using an iPhone 13 and my friend was using the iphone 11. Photos from 11 were really pretty and there were cool colour whereas the 13 was really capturing warm pictures.
I always danced back and forth between iOS and Android but after the 13Pro max, I switched to the Z Fold 3, and I am hooked. With Android, it's the sheer amount of stuff the OS is capable of doing. I use Samsung Dex alot. I hook my phone w/ the USBC-HDMI cable, bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Even sold my laptop. No use for my iPad either. I also do alot of torrenting, sideloading and play emulated games ; and it runs flawlessly. I love the super fast charging too. Cameras are great, but I'm not a big picture taker so not a big deal. Android on a foldable is just bananas. It truly is the future.
People who says Apple is good etc. just using phones 3 specs: social media scrolling, taking pictures/videos and messaging. In my opinion people with knowledge about other specs on Android still prefer Android over iPhone. I am in love with DeX and anything Samsung/Android offers natively. Pen support on mobile phones are also so good. I am not fan of animations on phones also, I usually put animation scale to 0.5x or just turn off animations on phone. I didn't get any os or app crashes on my S9+ phone since 2018. I am still actively using that phone while listening music in shower and things, waterproofing on it awesome. All I am seeing on phone comparisons on these sites just going on about battery life, screen and cameras. Nobody is talking about things that require hardware to its fullest. For me getting an iPhone cuts my usage of phone to half.
@@gweensherk2870I hate when people say iOS is better than Android on the basis of fucking social media. Like, iPhones are better because they run some stupid social media apps better? C'mon
Everyday users, nearly all the online reviews and videos don't refer to us. I use the Motorola Razr (flip) and iphone is a no contest, it's nice to see the updates they do but nothing compares to even a basic Android, let alone the Razr or Samsung flips. I do everything, yes everything besides scanning qr codes, etc, from a monitor and barely touch the phone. Android allows this, and other things, way more flexible than ios. I play around with these things from my iphone and it's just plainly annoying and limited to use, for many things, and I'm not the most techie person out there. Using the Razr flip on construction sites too is way more convenient, same as when I sit at a restaurant I can just refer to the mini screen to read and reply. Ios users don't know what they're missing out on and reviewers just do what reviewers do.
the iPhone and the Apple Watch together is what pulled me to iOS , having used android all the time, was kind of disappointed with the android smartwatches...when it comes to iPhone 14 pro max, it just feels like butter, I am not a pro photographer but from what I see the 48 mp ProRaw is what I prefer the most, its easier to edit and you can turn it into any theme you prefer....one annoying point is video doesn't have a pause like that's so weird
You didn't mention the price. Unfortunately, as good as the iPhone may be, Android devices offer an on-par experience at a considerably more affordable price. I know the S22U is the same price as the iPhone, but there are many other brands in Android - not to mention the fact that Samsung devices are often heavily discounted.
I've used an iPhone x for some months other than the fluidity and smooth animation there really isn't any thing other than the eco system Also I prefer the Android cuz of flexibility could say iOS is better for average consumer in the flagship range every Android won't last as los
@@adith9327 Much longer software support Not bloated, and apps can be uninstalled, even those which seem like default (only apps excluded are Phone, Messages and Safari for obvious reasons) Excellent battery life More reliable cameras than most Androids, except maybe the P7 series Best video on a phone Monstrously powerful chips that last fluid for 7 or more years Face ID is butter and secure The haptics are world class The app experience is MILES ahead of Android, MILES. And if you use the Shortcuts app, it will make your life easier than ever before. And so on I’m saying this as a former Pixel user and fanboy. I still get happy to see the success of the Pixel, but there’s literally nothing that can touch the iPhone in terms of nailing the basics and maximising the functionality you get. Android will let you do whatever you want with your phone, and that’s its USP alongside its price. This isn’t to say iOS is better than Android, but there is a clear difference.
I've had 4 iphones and 4 android phones in the last 15 years and I used to prefer android over ios, but that has since changed. iOS is so so so so good I just can't go back to Android without finding myself missing the smooth, fluent experience you get with using iOS, especially when you have other Apple devices. I had my 11 Pro since it came out (I had an S22 before then and sold it off after 6 months of pure frustration with Exynos battery usage weirdness) and I just bought the 14 Pro Max, and I really can't complain about much, it's a brilliant device, I reckon I'll have this for 4+ years too haha
I was android user for 8 years. What I love about android is endless for customisation and personalisation, but after all this time it has lost its magic to me. So I decided to finally tryout apple, got the 14 pro and I am enjoying it so far. Software is smooth, hardware is powerful, screen is beautiful. And the lack of customisation that everyone is talking didn’t even once cross my mind. So if you feel like you wanna try out different brand, go for it don’t listen to others.
The lack of customization is still there but no where near as bad as it was, say, 6 years ago. But yeah, that combined with me getting older and iOS suddenly seems very refreshing
I agree with everything you said but the screen being beautiful. I can't stand the giant cutout and youtube content getting cut off. Also the rounded corners are ugly. I'm a fan of the galaxy note design. Iphone is better overall, but it's a damn ugly phone.
@collin9135 my last galaxy was note 20 (still use it as a trusty side kick😆). And most of the time when watching videos, be it TH-cam or netflix i rarely used full screen. So to me its not really a problem. But i guess to each their own
@TheCarbonhead it depends on the video. Sometimes the video on my s22 ultra expands the entire screen except very slim black bars on the side. Not sure what aspect ratio it is, but when my friend watches them on his iPhone it's a little interrupted.
One of the main reasons I stay with iPhone are the apps. They just run better on iOS because they’re developed for one device. While android developers have to develop for multiple devices which causes issues.
@@poacherthenn He's right. An app on iOS usually needs way less code than the same app on Android simply because coding for an iPhone is easier. I swapped from my iPhone 6 to the Samsung Galaxy S8 5 years ago. iOS wasn't really exciting me and it felt bland. When I made the swap, I was amazed. Love the customizations and open source of Androids OS. However, I am on the verge of upgrading my phone. I was originally planning to go with the Pixel 7 Pro. But after viewing how far Apple has come with their phones and OS, I think I will be going back to iPhone by getting the 14 Pro.
I bought my first iPhone a few months ago, iphone 14 pro. I wish I hadn’t. It has some cool features, but I find myself getting frustrated often with the features it doesn’t have that Samsung phones do.
Like what exactly? I have a galaxy S9 and I'm thinking of buying the 14 Pro. I've never had an iPhone before. Always had Samsung Galaxy so can you tell me what you missed please?
@@jamesbelan on my galaxy I have the animations turned off. When i open or close an app I don't see the transition animation. Makes the phone feel a lot snappier. That's not the case on iPhone. I'm always waiting for the animations to finish so I can go on to whatever I want to do next. I use my phone a lot so those few seconds add up. The apple keyboard is irritating, and has a lot less feature than the keyboards you can use on android. Imessage is cool, but I don't think I would miss it if I switched back right now. My biggest annoyance is the settings app. Instead of settings for an app being in the app its self its in the settings app... Why? Instead of brightness, framerate, color, auto brightness and other screen settings being in one place those are scattered about. Its frustrating. If you're serious about getting an iPhone I recommend watching TH-cam videos.
@Patty Millz ???? There has been plenty of haptics based keyboards on android for years and years and years now. Apple doing it "better" but they don't even let you vhange your keyboard. It's the reason I can't use ios. Let me control my keyboard. It's a basic basic basic feature.
Only thing i want from an iphone is: their chip, video quality, battery life and iMessage. I love the freedom i have with Android, like everything is customizable my way and we have more than one phone to pick from not just two of them.
👋 Top video mate. Nice to see some local content that has a much more balanced tone and perspective. I’ve never seen your channel before but have just subscribed.
Im that person that never sticks to one or the other. I keep switching to android and back go ios every year. Every year android brings something new that attracts me to it. And then the following year something about the iphone attracts me. I just get whichever i feel like getting. Im not locked to any ecosystem. I use JBL earbuds, and a dell XPS. So very flexible.
As someone who's had iPhones since they came out and who so deep into the Apple ecosystem that I can't get out, I started buying 2 years old Samsung phones last year. I started with the Note 10+ which I absolutely loved, then a Note 20 Ultra which was another banger and now an S20 Ultra. I find Android a pleasure with all the customization I can perform. I use my iPhone 13 Pro Max Mon-Thur as a tool for work then the S20 Ultra Thur-Sun for fun. When I go back to my iPhone the most noticeable difference is the performance. Now there is only a 1 year difference between both my devices but it seems more like 5 years. Android is a power hungry ram sucking operating system. Seems like 12G of RAM isn't even enough at times. Someday I'll find an Android device that can perform as well as the iPhone.
I was the opposite, Android since day one. I initially got an iPhone as a secondary device, but now my 13 Pro Max is my primary, and I’m heavily invested in the ecosystem. But I still keep a Google Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel Buds
Got say after switching from my long time SE 2 to android to try out the S22 Ultra I'm going to be going back to Apple and grabbing myself a 14 Pro, maybe Pro Max because I do really enjoy the bigger display of the 22 ultra. I've come to realize that all the features like the 10x optical lens, the s pen, android's never ending customization, etc. are things that I either never use or just plain don't care about. Not to mention how much of a pain it is sharing pictures and video between my friends when 99% of them have iphones. My pics come through looking worse than they do on my phone, and as everyone knows the iphone to android quality destruction is horrible. Very much so looking forward to the increased performance/efficiency and especially the far better battery life. Great video man!
The s23 ultra has battery life that's as good as the 14 pro max but it's arguably better because of the faster 45w charging which is by no means the fastest charging "like not even close' but it's way faster than any iPhone. The issue where sending blurry pics to iPhone users is a serious issue but it's basically down to Apple purposely cutting resolution to keep people inside the "walled garden" which is completely wrong, and paying apple to limit their own users over a rivalry is just insane. I personally love the freedom I get with my android devices.
I’d been a Samsung user for almost a year but a few months ago I decided to try out an iPhone, i loved it and I’m typing from an iPhone And to be honest, android is actually pretty good
I've never used an iPhone, but I had an iPad a couple of times, and I just can't deal with being denied this, and can't do that. If you go with Apple, you will easily find other Apple lovers out there. Android is going strong with Google and Android manufacturers out there like Samsung determined to stay on top, it's ALL GREAT FOR THE CONSUMER.
Kind of going along the line of your review here, this is the first year I have not upgraded a single Apple device. I heavily use both Apple and Android.
I just got my iPhone 14 Pro. I have been using an S10 for the last 3 years, and will continue using both. So, the iPhone is really fast, really fluid and takes really good pics, but my God, is it so so boring, like I grab it and I don’t know what to do with it. My S10 is slower, it does actually lag and stutter sometimes (Exynos version btw ), but it is just so much fun to use, and it does feel like my phone, the iPhone feels like I am using the same phone as just about everyone else (experience wise). Social media, picture and especially videos, iPhone is just amazing, but when it comes to the experience, fun and so on, Android (for me at least) delivers such an amazing experience, that the iPhone (or iOS, apples to apples and all that) can’t match.
Yeah I currently have the s10 and seriously considering the 14 pro due to the long lasting battery life that I'm no longer getting on my s10. But there is something about iOS that after over a decade of using Android where Ill feel bored and irritated with it due it's restrictive nature and go back to Android lol. I'll see if that will be the case once I pull the plug and actually get the iPhone
You nailed it. I tried switching to ios, but couldn't stand for 2 hours. It is really boring. Also, I love to use split screen which is a big deal for me.
No review talks about the fact that the smaller iPhone has the same specs as the max. No Android phone has that feature which is why I switched from my huge S21 ultra to an iPhone 14 Pro this year. I just wanted a flagship phone in a normal size.
No pause button available while video recording is a painful feature omission (if it can even be called a feature since every other phone I've used in the past 7 years has it). Why in the world would they not allow to pause and resume video recording so you don't have to cut out parts you don't need in editing, or having to combine several short clips in an editor?
I've been switching more frequently as I get older and iOS becomes more versatile and android phones of note become more expensive. I used to prefer android heavily, now I see equal value in either platform, perhaps that will change in the future. On the 14 pro for now
How I feel man. Exactly how I feel. I haven't even switched yet but my next phone is definitely the 15 pro max. I mean, I find myself doing less of the android tinkering and customization. I used to pirate everything before, but I don't need to do that anymore. So ios looks amazing now. Only thing I like more about android is stuff like the device design of the s22 ultra. It's a way more beautiful and amazing modern looking smartphone. The iphone looks stuck in 2014 to be honest. It's vomit inducing. But at least the software is silky smooth and amazing and I value that more as I get older. So iphone it will be.
I agree. When I was younger and cared more about customizing my phone and cool novelty features I was definitely team Android, but as I got older I realized I cared less and less about customization and cool features that I don't use and just wanted a reliable smartphone. Because Android phones after 2 years old become insufferably glitchy, slow, clunky and usually stop receiving updates, while iPhones get updated for at least 6 years straight. I switched to iPhone back in 2018 and I probably won't be switching back, especially since the good android phones cost as much, if not more, than an iPhone these days and it's just not worth it for a phone that will be forgotten about in 2 years.
My last iPhone was the 7 Plus, been using android since then. Have always wanted to switch back to iPhone but I just cant stand using the lightning cable only for the iPhone when 90% of other devices are USB C. As much as I want to give Apple another try, the lightning cable is literally the only thing stopping me from switching.
@@thundergato84 the lightning port has been around since the iPhone 5 you can plug it in from both sides, there’s nothing wrong with it your just a yokel

I grew up using Android and after a decade I’ve finally switched to an iPhone with the 14 Pro. Very intuitive and easy to use, and I’d consider this an overall upgrade, but there are definitely a lot more quirks/bugs on the iOS and things that I preferred on Android. I’d describe Apple as a gimmicky luxury product that’s not without its bugs and flaws. One thing I hate about Apple is that almost everything is paid in App Store, and it seems dominated by dubious apps. Google Play is definitely more diverse and trustworthy
I use both systems and i'm happy with both. My iphone is my daily driver and my galaxy s20+ is for things which the iphone can t do (mainly for android app development).

I replaced my 13Pro Max with Fold 3. All regular smartphones seem really outdated now. Didn't think I would ever go back to normal phones until my Fold 3 screen cracked a couple of days ago. Not from a drop, just from unfolding. So, I just ordered 14Pro Max. Hopefully, foldables get more durable. I'm gonna miss that big screen.
The same thing with gold 3 happened to me. I was using fold 3 for 9 months and the inner display one day without any drops or something just crack (that was before maybe 1 week). After that I instantly order a iPhone 14 pro max and so far I’m satisfied with the OS experience. I will never buy a Samsung or any foldable after what happened with my fold 3. Btw I’m loving the battery on the iPhone, so far it’s good, hope have no problem with it in future…..
I love everything about the reliability of Ios but every time i get a new iPhone, it feels the same (which is good for a lot of people). I just get bored despite the well rounded performance with everything and just got a pixel 7. my whole family is on ios though which is my lock in so I'll be keeping an iPhone to toggle back to. Pixel phones are just a bit more fun even though not as rock solid as these iphones.

No one else on TH-cam places this much importance for animations as much as you & I'm with you on this. So, u saying there's no a lot of difference in UI fluidity between iOS & Android is a very vital statement.
If you are only planning to use the Phone by itself, the Galaxy would be a better choice. If you are planning to use the Phone and pair it with a Watch, Laptop, or other devices in the Ecosystem, the the IPhone wins big time and will be much more efficient than the Galaxy. A lot of Android users just don’t understand how IOS works and are not even familiar with it, im glad to see someone like this video that is open minded and is trying to understand how an IPhone really works.
You can do the same on iPhone and on Samsung Galaxy + Windows Pc, including Samsung Pc. There are a lot of thing i can do almost the same on my iPhone and on my Android device but there are few important thing that i can’t do on my iPhone that i do everyday easily on my Android : 1) Multitasking with Split screen 2) Clone app which i use for both Personal, Professional or Associative account 3) Using Back Gesture the same way on every app with swiping : i don’t need to go on the top of an app to go back 4) Ability to place icons on my homescreen wherever i want. 4 features which have nothing to do with an Ecosystem thing. I don’t own neither a smartwatch, nor a tablet and i don’t need them; only my phone and my Windows Pc. I got an amazing 13 Pro Alpine Green and it works well but itself, it’s not impressive. I could do the same + those 4 features on a S22 Ultra or Pixel 7 Pro or Oppo Find X5 Pro.
after upgrading to Samsung's most powerful flagship (s22 ultra), I really just felt underwhelmed by everything. I've been an android user since I got my first phone, and I've had some really bad phones before, so I felt as if the s22 ultra should shake things up and change everything. it really didn't for me. I didn't use the eye popping features as much as I thought I would, I always have to charge my phone before the end of the day, and the experience is just really choppy, lots of lag when switching from task to task. I'm excited to get my iPhone 14 pro max and see if it changes things up.
I feel the same way. I had been using the 2nd gen iphone SE for a while, then I decided to buy my first flagship and decided the amazing features of the S22 Ultra were enough to sway me over. I've learned that the things I was most excited about such as the s pen, 10x optical zoom, etc are all things that I hardly use, if I use them at all. Had the screen crack from dropping it on a carpeted floor so Samsung is buying the phone back from me for full retail price. Looks like I'm switching back to iphone and grabbing myself either a 14 Pro or Pro Max. Looking forward to the increased performance and especially the far better battery life.

The normal pro isn’t to heavy at all however the max size might be but that’s the sacrifice u have to make it u want that bigger battery and screen size. Also what features does IOS lack exactly? IOS is definitely the best software on any phone no other phone can compare to apples software
which basic features? If you’re talking about customisation that’s hardly basic, it’s something most people don’t care about unless they are actually tech savvy
@@sharvapotdar3257 oh gosh were do i start... split screen, and before you say no one uses it, well most android users do as some streaming apps in ios still dont support pip mode (eg foxtel go app, at least in android i can run it in pop out mode and use other apps at the same time, like watching the F1 at the gym and listining to music, cant do that on a iphone), multiple sound sources and volume control, yes customisable everything, duplicate apps and virtual phone through secure folder, proper external desktop support with Dex, customisable buttons, active widgets, reverse power charge, side loading apps etc etc. you see apple doesnt want to give you these features with an expensive iphone as it will cost them sales of ipad and loss of revenue.

@@joeyjoey7972 lmao you clearly don’t know what your talking about 6.1 inch is not to small at 😂literally 90% of people will tell u that’s the perfect size for a phone and they have. And anyone that wants bigger can go for the 6.7. Apple could easily make their phones lighter however going a lot lighter also losses that premium expensive phone feel, there are hardly any good well polished features that android has that iOS doesn’t is laughable that you think there is. The “split screen” feature that u talked about is really not a necessary feature for the average user which is literally apples target market. However I’m sure this will come very soon and it will work in a way that is a lot smoother than android could ever do because iOS is just the superior software I’m not saying it’s amazing cos their is room for improvement like anything but obviously apple isn’t going to give all the features they can fast they are going to work on them over time make them perfect then release them and work on another because they have to release features slow if they wanna stay in a market where they release a phone every year otherwise they will simply run out of things u can add to a phone since phones are now at a point where they are a very powerful device. Anything that’s brand new is gonna have some kind of bugs that how it is, 99% of the bugs have already been fixed or if not will be fixed within weeks because apple act fast with these. There are many phones that have the same price point as apples like the S22 ultra which and the price is hard to justify for that to but that’s just because of what’s been normalised in society. Your thoughts on everything a iPhone should have at this current time is ridiculous and you clearly haven’t really thought about anything u are saying.
I love Android, but I had the S22 and couldn't handle the terrible battery life and how hot the phones gets when i'm doing even the smallest tasks like scrolling twitter or using google maps. I've swapped it for a iPhone 12 and i've been loving it, it just works! Love the vid Sam
Great vid, Sam! Excellent job! I am waiting for my change to either get a 13 pro, 13 Pro Max or a 14 Pro. Hopefully I could and will be doing some of your shared customization in IOS.
Also my iPhone 14 pro max battery life seems quite a bit better already after updating to ios 16.1. I have a shortcut set to notify me when my battery gets to 90 percent and I unplugged about an hour and a half ago. Even after watching several TH-cam videos it's still at 89 which is reminding me of MacBook Air M1 battery life out of the box.
@@alexsherel3344 Usually the battery degrade faster if charge it up to 100% everytime. Samsung do have a similar function that capped at 85% to preserve battery longevity.
@@JennMusic0520 maybe 10-15 years ago when batteries had a “memory” that’s just another myth people can’t let go of. The tech, especially Apple, made that thinking obsolete. If you watch an actual charge test on a newer iPhone, they trickle charge the last chunk. Assuming MFI chargers/cables if not actual Apple brand. There’s videos on TH-cam showing this with actual scientific methods. Plus the fact that you aren’t smarter than the guys engineering the electrical in an iPhone. THOSE guys are so smart they already KNOW guys like you THINK you’re smart. That 100% on your iPhone isn’t 100%. All you’re doing is using more mental energy micro managing your charging. Understand something. Apple is smarter than you. Just keep your phone away from temp extremes (especially heat) you’re fine.
There is not much benefit to unplugging at 90. Do it at 80. Chemistry doesn't have leeways, might as well go 100 instead of 90. You can still replace your battery after 2-3 yrs
I’m extremely surprised to not hear anything about how absolutely abundant bugs are in iOS 16. Sure, they’re not likely to be a problem forever, but holy hell it’s almost November and this iOS version seems to be getting worse and worse for me :/
I like the iPhone 14 alot. It feels so good to use. But apples support and the way too strict limitstions are forcing me to switch back to android. I am currently legit stuck in apple. Apple in all its might decided to suspend my apple ID, i managed to use the phone for 2 weeks. Apple support refuses to tell me why its suspended and they tell me that there is nothing apple can do for me anymore. They tell me that ”you might have maybe broken terms of services” And thats all i get. Now im stuck with semi bricked phone, since i cannot log out of apple id to reset my phone, and cannot access apple store. I got the phone trough work, and our leasing company is hard to reach. So i dont have purchase paperwork at hand so apple wont reset my phone either. After im done with this fiasco im going back to android.

I actually switched from my S21Ultra to the iphone 14pro and so far I'm quite happy (main reason was that I wanted a flagship that would fit comfortably in my hands^^)... To get rid of the wallpaper in the AOD I just downloaded a black jpg to use as a wallpaper... I also exchanged the default keyboard for swiftkey, that's what I've been using on android for the last couple of years... My only gripe with IOS is that all pictures just get tossed into the same folder. Camera, facebook, browser-downloads, reddit, 9gag... It's a huge mess... On android every app creates it's own folder so when I want to browse my own photos I just go into that folder... Anyone got a solution for that?
Bro, is swiftkey working for you on iphone? Used for a few yrs and started crashing and i saw that they will not uptade it for iOS anymore. Had to uninstall and now using the native iOS keyboard

I've used ios for like 2 years or 3 or so and my man, switching back to Android was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my entire life. Ios and macos are so crap.
I've always believed iOS is simple but recently used an iPad and an iPhone and besides stuff that I'm not used to there's some really annoying stuff
Meh nothing changed in iOS
I am and always will be an android user!
But regardless of what side you sit on both OS are incredibly fluid and seemless. The beauty is the competition!
They force each other be better. If apple continued to dominate the market like it did in the earlier years we wouldn't have all this innovation like we do now!

one thing to note, the screen can now go down to 1hz as opposed to 10hz on the previous model, this helps battery life
Only goes down to 1hz on aod
This is the one case where I agree that "apple waits until it's perfect to implement it"
Usually that just means apple is slow af and behind on features.

The lack of a general back button on iOS is a huge problem, I had to switch to android for a while and missed it immensely when I got my iphone back

Gotta say your video quality is outstanding. Especially with high bitrate youtube premium settings

You can argue that you shouldn't go out of your way for this, but ProRaw photos are on another freaking level with the new sensor and lens.
@@hobosnake1You do realize you can swipe down and make everything easier to access right?

I actually have noticed that my iPhone images have gotten more processed looking and you can really tell when you view the image before the processing finishes if you’re fast enough to catch it
I had a similar experience I was using an iPhone 13 and my friend was using the iphone 11. Photos from 11 were really pretty and there were cool colour whereas the 13 was really capturing warm pictures.
It’s terrible imo, makes people/skin look terrible I’m most situations. Insane that you can’t turn HDRonntje 13 or 14!!
No it’s not. We hate that shitty crease
C'mon
Just got the fold 4 and yes, it is not even in the same category anymore. It is so much better than any other phone. Not just iphone.
Fingerprint sensor are faster and better than Face ID, since you can unlock your phone without having to point your face at it.
the iPhone and the Apple Watch together is what pulled me to iOS , having used android all the time, was kind of disappointed with the android smartwatches...when it comes to iPhone 14 pro max, it just feels like butter, I am not a pro photographer but from what I see the 48 mp ProRaw is what I prefer the most, its easier to edit and you can turn it into any theme you prefer....one annoying point is video doesn't have a pause like that's so weird
U could always get a cheap Xiaomi phone with on par or similar hardware with flagship and flah asop it's way more cheaper
In EU the price starts Form 1450€ for Pro max, that makes Pixel 7 pro 900€ a way better value especially with pre order benefit "pixel watch lte"
If you use an iPhone, you’ll realise android is not nearly on par.
I've used an iPhone x for some months other than the fluidity and smooth animation there really isn't any thing other than the eco system
Also I prefer the Android cuz of flexibility could say iOS is better for average consumer in the flagship range every Android won't last as los
@@adith9327
Much longer software support
Not bloated, and apps can be uninstalled, even those which seem like default (only apps excluded are Phone, Messages and Safari for obvious reasons)
Excellent battery life
More reliable cameras than most Androids, except maybe the P7 series
Best video on a phone
Monstrously powerful chips that last fluid for 7 or more years
Face ID is butter and secure
The haptics are world class
The app experience is MILES ahead of Android, MILES.
And if you use the Shortcuts app, it will make your life easier than ever before.
And so on
I’m saying this as a former Pixel user and fanboy.
The speaker performance is actually quite a bit better on the 14 pro series.
Not sure what aspect ratio it is, but when my friend watches them on his iPhone it's a little interrupted.
my last iphone was the 4. i got the 14 pro and aside from a few gripes i am loving it
Amazing review. We need more perspectives like this and the video production quality is top notch. Well done.
I really like how this was actually unbiased.
One of the main reasons I stay with iPhone are the apps. They just run better on iOS because they’re developed for one device. While android developers have to develop for multiple devices which causes issues.
uh what? most android phones of the same generation use the same cpu, programs on android perform the same as programs on ios
@@poacherthenn The issue is, developers have to develop for many Android phones. That is where the issue comes in.
@@poacherthenn He's right. An app on iOS usually needs way less code than the same app on Android simply because coding for an iPhone is easier. It's why video sharing apps like TikTok and Snapchat look way better on an old iPhone than even on a new android, because iOS is easier to code for and the apps are more optimized.
@@ike678 1. kotlin is identical on both android and ios
2. less code doesn't mean it's easier, printing hello world in brain#### takes less code than in c but that doesn't make it easier
3. most people in the u.s use apple and those apps are most popular in the u.s so they focus on ios more than android
don't talk about things you clearly have no understanding of
@@zski1 if the phones use the same chip then it's no different, if they wanted to they don't even need to specifically optimize for the different chips and can just put it out there (this is what most apps so)
I swapped from my iPhone 6 to the Samsung Galaxy S8 5 years ago. iOS wasn't really exciting me and it felt bland.
@@marblygaming thanks for your response very good points made! I will watch some more
Not to mention their gallery, Android has it way better with the folder system
Been die hard Samsung till saw cinematic mode on the 14pro, that alone made me change. It’s insane how good it is
Sam: Pixel and Samsung have finally caught up to Apple haptics!
Also Sam: Apple now has a haptic keyboard! 🙃
When apple does things it does it right😂
@Patty Millz ????
When I got my first iphone an 11 to be exact last 2019. Never going back to android again. Now using 14 pro.
Can't wait for you to release the Pixel 7 series reviews... Looking forward to those...
I really like this review and how you're not really picking favourites but instead distinguish the pros and cons between the two. Great video mate!
The camera upgrade does get apparent when using ProRaw. The full 48 MP shots are amazing.
my iPhone 14 pro is arriving in less than 2 weeks and I’m very excited for it. Im coming from a 11 pro max to a 14 pro.
I’d been a Samsung user for almost a year but a few months ago I decided to try out an iPhone, i loved it and I’m typing from an iPhone
And to be honest, android is actually pretty good
I've never used an iPhone, but I had an iPad a couple of times, and I just can't deal with being denied this, and can't do that.

What website is this????
No review talks about the fact that the smaller iPhone has the same specs as the max. No Android phone has that feature which is why I switched from my huge S21 ultra to an iPhone 14 Pro this year.
I just wanted a flagship phone in a normal size.
No pause button available while video recording is a painful feature omission (if it can even be called a feature since every other phone I've used in the past 7 years has it). Why in the world would they not allow to pause and resume video recording so you don't have to cut out parts you don't need in editing, or having to combine several short clips in an editor?
Maybe it’s protected by a patent
it’s available now
You take amazing photos. Love your review and your channel. Your super underrated has a creator and reviewer.

@@iAfroTech it’s not that they put pressure. It’s that it’s harder to send full resolution pics and videos of our kids to my parents mostly.
There are a lot of thing i can do almost the same on my iPhone and on my Android device but there are few important thing that i can’t do on my iPhone that i do everyday easily on my Android :
1) Multitasking with Split screen
2) Clone app which i use for both Personal, Professional or Associative account
3) Using Back Gesture the same way on every app with swiping : i don’t need to go on the top of an app to go back
4) Ability to place icons on my homescreen wherever i want.

Anything that’s brand new is gonna have some kind of bugs that how it is, 99% of the bugs have already been fixed or if not will
be fixed within weeks because apple act fast with these. I love Android, but I had the S22 and couldn't handle the terrible battery life and how hot the phones gets when i'm doing even the smallest tasks like scrolling twitter or using google maps. I've swapped it for a iPhone 12 and i've been loving it, it just works! Love the vid Sam
Google maps actually tends to drain the battery no matter which phone you use. It’s one of the biggest battery drainers
@@blink-reveluv-my6875 I do agree however it was REALLY bad on my s22, that phone is in my drawer and I’m using an iphone now very happily.
@@kyyyy21 I’m happy you’re happy. The iPhone tends to be much faster than android anyways.
Great vid, Sam! Excellent job!
I am waiting for my change to either get a 13 pro, 13 Pro Max or a 14 Pro. Hopefully I could and will be doing some of your shared customization in IOS.
You should also try previous years iphones again, without updating, but jailbroken
Why are you unplugging at 90%
@@alexsherel3344 Usually the battery degrade faster if charge it up to 100% everytime.
@@animatrix1851 watch that video, all that stuff you THINK you know is OLD TECH…
love the video and i especially appreciate the editing behind the intro. love the work bro
I’m extremely surprised to not hear anything about how absolutely abundant bugs are in iOS 16. Sure, they’re not likely to be a problem forever, but holy hell it’s almost November and this iOS version seems to be getting worse and worse for me :/
I have to say I switched from an s21 ultra to the iPhone 14 pro max and I love it!
The quality of videos you make damnn, i'm sorry i got to see this after i bought the phone but dude i'm subscribing you right away like you deserve at least a million subscribers.
The only thing I can thing of is creating your own folders and putting the pictures you save in them. Other than that I'm not sure
Don't albums work like that?
Just use Google photos. Works perfectly well on iOS. Been on iOS for 2.5 years now after moving from Android.
Bro, is swiftkey working for you on iphone?
Used for a few yrs and started crashing and i saw that they will not uptade it for iOS anymore.
Had to uninstall and now using the native iOS keyboard
@@guilhermemadureira1705 yes, I'm using swiftkey on my iphone^^ and I didn't have any problems with it crashing :-)
Been using android phones for 8 years until 3 days ago when I got my iphone 14 pro max and I can tell with 100% certainty that im never switching back to android, as ios is simply way better and i love how everything is so smooth.
Android is king. 🔥🔥🔥
Let’s look at the sales and see who is really king
@@dadillonful honestly, it depends on which market your talking about. In the U.S then yes, iphones have more sales. But when it comes to the World, andriod make about 70-77% of sales(do correct me if I'm wrong)
@@GuyA2 You are not wrong. 👍
I've been an android user since the Galaxy S3, I'll be switching to Apple next week and kinda excited to do the switch, I'll be getting the iPhone 14 plus not the pro max, as battery life means alot more to me now that im older. I'll see how it goes for the next few years... :)
I've used ios for like 2 years or 3 or so and my man, switching back to Android was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my entire life. Ios and macos are so crap. Super chaotic, super not intuitive, lacking so many functions, there's like a thousand less apps in appstore, simple tasks take so much time to perform, interface is super inconvenient, everything is made for you to waste time. Android? Zero chaos. Windows? Zero chaos. Convinience 100%. Apple makes overpriced crap and if you are a new user you may like it, but after some time you will start to lose your shit and you will know why.
I love how you say we as an Android user. At the end there is no the best smartphones, but the best for you. Just appreciate what’s available and how technology and pick your favorite guys, instead of hating each other.
Thank your for your honest and well made video 🙏🏽
I bought a 14 pro max last Friday and returned it on Sunday. Absolute trash and I resent tech youtubers for even pretending it's on the same level as flagship androids. There isn't even a comma on the first keyboard page for the supposed kings of design and refinement lmao
The keyboard sucks there's no TH-cam vanced no ublock for browser no custom launcher no emulators no stylus no secure Folder no multitasking and worse notification management. For 1k+ the iPhone is trash. $300 Android phones can do more
You’re an Android fan. No way you dropped 1100.00 on an iPhone. Give me a break
They are trolling
@@Johnnyiswhere I did I'm typing this on a 13 pro max. It can't do any of the things I listed I use to be able to do on my note 10. I don't get the hype. Am I wrong or something? I'm thinking of just getting the Z Fold 4 or s23 when that's out.
if you're smart enough there is a google keyboard for ios. but since you're not you will just plainhate without even googling for possible solutions. just say you're an android fantard and go.
I have an Iphone 12 and a S22 Ultra. The Samsung is EXTREMELY fluid!
for the battery issue try and update to 16.1 because battery life got greatly improved their
i am not taking anything away from your intro but i am so thankful MKBHD really was the one to push and leap miles forward for that kind of production
To get the full advantage of the camera go to settings and turn raw raw on it will give you the 4k image
The thing i miss from android are basically the illegal stuffs.. like being able to record phone calls.
"great softwares" that you can download from places that doesn't exists.. and such.
