I worked for a school district print shop for 10 years. So much of this is old news. I.E. has been going on for 9+ years. The schools were printing curriculum with "The Gender Unicorn" and the "Gender Bread Person" Instructing student not to take assignments home. Bussing elementary students to get Abortions without parental consent or knowledge. District instructing schools not to report sexual abuse on campus because it would look bad and cost the district funding. It's sad that a whole generation is indoctrinated before it becomes mainstream news. And by then the left has moved on to a deeper perversion

Ray was my 5th grade teacher during the 1999-2000 school year (his early years of teaching). Always had a very professional, yet calming demeanor in the classroom. Grammar, spelling, pronunciation/diction were topics he elaborated on. (Correctly Pronouncing clothes with “th” as opposed to “z” sound that everyone says). Having students back then go single file down flight of stairs for recess / lunch. You could tell he was a very structured, yet compassionate teacher who loved what he was doing and always wanted the best for his students. Definitely a stand-out and different (in a good way) than other teachers, which is why I recall such details so vividly. Fast forward to 2023; Ray wants the best for his kids, and if that means standing up for what’s morally and ethically/legally right (even at the risk of his career at GUSD) he will do so! Thanks to the stupidity of this school district now, Ray will be regarded and known nationwide for his true values and the person he is! Go Ray Shelton!

We have a new Bill in the UK to protect kids in school. 1. Schools banned from letting kids change their gender if their parents say no. 2. Competitive sport ban on kids who want to be called by another pronoun. 3. Teachers must tell parents their child is questioning their gender - even if the child refuses. 4. No new preferred pronouns - he she or they - until parents give consent. 5. Kids and teachers don't have to call another pupil by their preferred pronouns. 6. Heads must consider the mental effects on other kids before approving gender change.

I was his student over 20 years ago. He was one of the best teachers I had when I was in elementary school. He was charismatic and very kind. I hope Mr.Shelton gets to teach again.
I'm what you would call a liberal/progressive. I really appreciated this conversation. My takeaway is that it's really unfair to put the burden of gender/sexuality issues on the schools and teacher. They are just trying to do their job and educate children to read, write, do math and learn science. I don't think any of them ever wanted to be caught up in issues completely unrelated to their jobs. I see and recognize that children wanting to identify as a different gender has become a huge issue. How about just treating all the kids the same? If they want to be he or she or they, that's the end of the conversation. I'm a former public school teacher myself. The school and parents wanted me solve all kinds of problems the kids were having. My answer, I'm here to teach your kid biology. If they have other issues, you need to deal with them as parents and a family. Schools can't be expected to raise your kids.

Everyone of sound mind really needs to start calling this what it actually is: A cult. I’m gay and most gay men are NOT on board with this - gay people outside of a small cult-like activist niche look at this and realize if this was happening when they were kids, there’s a good chance they would’ve been guided and pushed down the road of gender transition and surgical mutilation. Most gay people have always recognized that the LGB rights movement for decriminalizing homosexuality, access to government issued marriage licenses and civil rights protections was being co-opted and twisted by transgender advocacy, casually latching onto the idea that having gender dysphoria is somehow vaguely related to being sexually attracted to the same sex while anyone who stops for a second to actually think about it quickly realizes it really doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to draw a line between the two totally unrelated phenomena. Gays were often broadly accused of recruiting children which wasn’t true - yet, in broad daylight, transgender advocates are directly working to indoctrinate little children in elementary schools to experiment with their gender by TV programs, cartoons, books, kiddie drag shows, laws to restrict parents rights to information and make decisions (including medical decisions) about their own children. It’s beyond belief, it’s beyond sick, it’s utterly disgusting and brainwashed. Here in Canada there recently were manifestations against transgender education at schools too. It happened in Ottawa in front of the Parliament. People were shouting “Leave our kids alone!”

I have middle school aged kids and they're not taught about it in the public school they go to and we have the choice to opt out of sex ed (which we do). I'm not sure if they teach about it in sex ed, but my kids haven't learned about it through the school. The kids at school have talked about it though and they all seem to think it's pretty crazy. I always hear that Canada is so much more progressive than the US, but that's probably just in the bigger cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I live a few hours away from Vancouver and we don't visit anymore.

I'm in Ottawa too, I asked a friend if she sees this at her boys' school, one of their teachers does talk about being inclusive etc. Her middle school son was on the playground playing with other boys, at some point he said 'he' when referring to a boy who knows he's a boy and one of the kids said to him 'did you just assume x's pronouns? You can't do that!' It's ridiculous and this 100% came from the teacher despite Trudeau's claim it isn't part of the curriculum. What it is is part of the teacher's college training and no doubt the colleges are full of people who are part of that alternate reality and these are our newest and future teachers.

My neighbor and her friends hired a teacher that left teaching to care and home school her two children. She has 10 students altogether and they are all doing great. The parents have really put it all together.

My daughter is 31. She stated to me that she does not want to bring children up in the US as it looks now. I told her I do not blame her. The ideology being discussed here has long ranged ramifications. If young women do not want children in this era, then population will go down. This is exactly what the WEF wants. I taught high school for 12 years. I left my career for several reasons (I won't even get started on the downfall of public education), but I remember being terrified of discussing anything remotely political in my classroom for fear of words being misconstrued or some crazy parent getting me fired because of their ridiculous far left (or right) views. There are many teachers indoctrinating today's kids, but I think there are many more who are just scared to say ANYTHING that could be perceived as politically incorrect or risk losing their career. This ridiculousness is largely responsible for our education system going down the toilet.

Ray was my 5th grade teacher during the 1999-2000 school year (his early years of teaching). Always had a very professional, yet calming demeanor in the classroom. Grammar, spelling, pronunciation/diction were topics he elaborated on. (Correctly Pronouncing clothes with “th” as opposed to “z” sound that everyone says). Having students back then go single file down flight of stairs for recess / lunch. You could tell he was a very structured, yet compassionate teacher who loved what he was doing and always wanted the best for his students.
Definitely a stand-out and different (in a good way) than other teachers, which is why I recall such details so vividly.
Fast forward to 2023; Ray wants the best for his kids, and if that means standing up for what’s morally and ethically/legally right (even at the risk of his career at GUSD) he will do so!
Thanks to the stupidity of this school district now, Ray will be regarded and known nationwide for his true values and the person he is!

1. Schools banned from letting kids change their gender if their parents say no.
2. Competitive sport ban on kids who want to be called by another pronoun.
3. Teachers must tell parents their child is questioning their gender - even if the child refuses.
4. No new preferred pronouns - he she or they - until parents give consent.
5. Kids and teachers don't have to call another pupil by their preferred pronouns.
6. Heads must consider the mental effects on other kids before approving gender change.

I see and recognize that children wanting to identify as a different gender has become a huge issue. How about just treating all the kids the same? If they want to be he or she or they, that's the end of the conversation. I'm a former public school teacher myself. The school and parents wanted me solve all kinds of problems the kids were having. My answer, I'm here to teach your kid biology. If they have other issues, you need to deal with them as parents and a family. Schools can't be expected to raise your kids.

I have middle school aged kids and they're not taught about it in the public school they go to and we have the choice to opt out of sex ed (which we do). I'm not sure if they teach about it in sex ed, but my kids haven't learned about it through the school. The kids at school have talked about it though and they all seem to think it's pretty crazy. I always hear that Canada is so much more progressive than the US, but that's probably just in the bigger cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I'm in Ottawa too, I asked a friend if she sees this at her boys' school, one of their teachers does talk about being inclusive etc. Her middle school son was on the playground playing with other boys, at some point he said 'he' when referring to a boy who knows he's a boy and one of the kids said to him 'did you just assume x's pronouns? You can't do that!' It's ridiculous and this 100% came from the teacher despite Trudeau's claim it isn't part of the curriculum. What it is is part of the teacher's college training and no doubt the colleges are full of people who are part of that alternate reality and these are our newest and future teachers.
I think the fact that the schools have to do this behind the parents backs, speaks volumes!

My neighbor and her friends hired a teacher that left teaching to care and home school her two children. She has 10 students altogether and they are all doing great. The parents have really put it all together.

I am a teacher. He is extremely brave. He would have a lot to fear from a handful of students but more to fear from this young batch of teachers who are activists .

I taught high school for 12 years. I left my career for several reasons (I won't even get started on the downfall of public education), but I remember being terrified of discussing anything remotely political in my classroom for fear of words being misconstrued or some crazy parent getting me fired because of their ridiculous far left (or right) views. There are many teachers indoctrinating today's kids, but I think there are many more who are just scared to say ANYTHING that could be perceived as politically incorrect or risk losing their career. This ridiculousness is largely responsible for our education system going down the toilet.

I want to fight. I totally regret that I haven't voted at all...because I thought cynical about it especially the Gore and Bush 2000 election where George Bush Cheated the Presidential Seat. However, I let my ancestors down because they fought and died by the hands of Jim Crow fighting to succeed the 1964 voting rights and 1965 civil rights bill for us to have a voice
