Gitana, I can't even tell you what a special moment this performance was for fans of Angelina. Knowing of her dream to sing for Simon since she was 3.... watching all the work she had put in for all those years... To see her come out there on that night and deliver that incredible masterpiece. It was really something to witness. And when you watch it back, take note of her family. Her Mother, Sister, Uncle and Grandmother... they have been there all along. All the practices, all the rehearsals, all the charity events and concerts... they are always there... always supporting her. So to see their reaction when Hedi hit that golden buzzer was just priceless. I have many 'favorite' performances from Angelina, but this one was by far the most special for me.

When auditioners literally sign-up for AGT, they are also bound to a contract with Syco Productions(founded by Simon Cowell) if they win. Angelina's family (Uncle Michael Astar her agent and manager)would not agree to that. So AGT knew how great she was already from the many covers on TH-cam, and they wanted her to perform, so she performed without the Syco contract. So it is fairly easy to understand that if they could not entice her than why let her win? They choose another and she did not win. No matter. She has made herself known here in the US in a big way!
No worries, repeating your praise for Angelina. Its just once in a lifetime, a unique voice like that comes along. I loved watching S. Cowell,s face. He was transfixed by her performance. Looked like he was having trouble believing his ears. Ha Ha.

AJ is currently signed with Republic Records. 3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. 4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old. Hopefully this will remain as she continues her career with Republic. 5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot and I hope by now that you have discovered the incredible reason why she does that. 6. AJ sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! 7. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. 8. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

Please, no apologies needed for cutting out the judges comments. Basically, a hideous display of hubris. To listen to them you'd think Angelina Jordan just suddenly appeared as a blank slate out of thin air somewhere back stage, and until they gave their approval, nothing else she'd ever done matters. What a load of crap. To me, this ranks right up there with Disturbed's version of 'Sound of Silence' as one of the best covers ever performed. It was unearthly. Thank you for another great reaction, and don't worry about your heart. That's just the Angelina effect. She makes it larger, so that you have more love to give to everyone around you. To listen to them you'd think Angelina Jordan just suddenly appeared as a blank slate out of thin air somewhere back stage, and until they gave their approval, nothing else she'd ever done matters. What a load of crap.
To me, this ranks right up there with Disturbed's version of 'Sound of Silence' as one of the best covers ever performed. It was unearthly. Thank you for another great reaction, and don't worry about your heart. That's just the Angelina effect. She makes it larger, so that you have more love to give to everyone around you. As you mentioned, she's done that to all of us fans, and it shows.

And sooner or later you're going to come across a song by Angelina that isn't your favorite, and you can be honest about it. I think all of us have found a recording or two that just weren't her best work. Still charming and enjoyable, but not our favorite pieces. But that's true of any artist. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. Rob has been working with AJ from the very 1st day Republic signed her at age 14. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. Angelina Jordan is top priority for both Stargate Production Co.
