"Feeling Good" (also known as "Feelin' Good") is a song written by English composers Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical 'The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd.' It was first performed on stage in 1964 by Cy Grant on the UK tour and by Gilbert Price in 1965 with the original Broadway cast.
Nina Simone recorded "Feeling Good" for her 1965 album 'I Put a Spell on You.'

The Nina Simone version is the standard, absolutely fantastic. Michael Buble sings it well, but doesn't vibe the emotion as well as Angelina. AJ's version is amazing for any age; but for TEN!

Amazing performance at any age, but at 10 years old this one is for the records.
The song as mentioned by others is from the musical “The Roar of the Greasepaint-The Smell of the Crowds”. Fun fact about the musical; the title was originally to be “The Smell of the Greasepaint-The Roar of the Crowd”. The composers intentionally switched the 2 words to create some publicity. It worked because the critics had a field day criticizing the “Mistake” not realizing it was intentional.
Your daughter is smart and adorable and I really enjoyed watching the two of you.

At age 6, she gave her shoes, shoes Angelina liked a lot, to a 6-7 year old street vendor in the Middle East. She wrote a book about the encounter, which makes her the youngest published author in Norway. In her own words, Angelina speaks about this encounter on NRK TV "Lindmo" with English CC (th-cam.com/video/-cCLDY0CSZ8/w-d-xo.html ). During the interview the host had her read the comments she made in her diary at the time. She has committed herself to never wear footwear in her performances, until all children had shoes to wear. She's been extremely active in humanitarian efforts, helping to raise tens of millions of euros for those at risk.

It is great sharing older music styles with the younger generations so they can broaden their knowledge. I was exposed to classical and standards by my Mother, and musical comedy by my Dad. Thank you for another grand reaction to Angelina. For me, the things that stood out in this video, other than her perfect interpretation of a classic song, were the two very low register notes she used on the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance; that magnificent crescendo; the twinkle in her eyes at 8.38 in your reaction video when she became aware that the cameraman had focused on her; and the almost instantaneous transformation from the "performance" Angelina to the demure child of 10 who gave a shy curtsey to the audience in acknowledgement of their applause. Did you notice them?
In another recent reaction to Angelina's performance of this song, someone commented that Nina Simone's version was accepted as the "gold standard" for the song. As I had never listened to Nina's version, I went to TH-cam, found the performance and watched and listened. I did enjoy it, except for the end. I loved her phrasing of the song and her enunciation was beautiful.
As a result of listening to Nina, I cannot understand what I had considered to be true, that Angelina's version was based on that of Nina Simone. For me, it was as different as "chalk and cheese". Angelina has completely reimagined it. Both tempo and phrasing were totally "Angelina", For me, it is pointless comparing the two performances. The only thing one can say with some assurance is that one performance was that of a 32-year-old woman and the other by a 10-year-old child.

Lucy truly is the apple that did not fall far. :) Loving seeing parents interacting like this with their kids (I am separated from mine for months even years at a time now days). Hold the phone, I looked for references in history for the Effect Angelina has on people. As there are only one evert 600-1000 years there is verry few references. However, the Effect is called the "Halo effect". When an artist is so deep into their craft that they are able to push feeling and emotion out of their work and make people tear up at its impact upon them emotionally. Shedding Tears of Joy, hope, wellbeing and even sadness while experiencing the work. Like a person seeing the Halo of an Angel is so profoundly uplifted they cry with joy. The Halo effect.

To understand how this little girl is able to work professionally you also have a look at this test recording of this song. At the risk of thinking that it is impossible for a little girl ... this is Angelina, who at 8 (2 years before) is already working on her arrangement of "Feeling Good", in a backstage and there are also other small similar recordings in those years. The cover arrangements she chooses to do are always hers, even if it may seem unreal. 💛 🧡 ❤️
