I heard that too months after we got this trans done. My other worry is those aren’t really built to handle 400+ hp which this motor will do no problem with a new tune.
What ecu are you going with? I have a 93 600sl as one of my project benzes. Been thinking about using a getrag 420g 6 speed on my m120. Theres a company that makes adapter plates for the m113 to use a 420g trans but nothing for the m120 anywhere. Do you happen to have the m120 specs for where the trans bellhousing bolts up? Like the trans bolt size and spacing? Flexplate tooth count and dimensions? I think its a 60-2 trigger wheel. Thanks! Feel free to pm me. I'd pay ya for an adapter plate that is predrilled on the m120 side or the specs for it
Hey Ben looking to run with a ms3pro. I don’t have the specs as it was more of a measure and mock up. Flex plate is a 60-2 from another merc. As for a adapter plate I really don’t have anything that “bolts up.” It was all measure and weld for this project. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful to ya, I know I’ve seen other people mock up a Chrysler crossfire trans but other than that haven’t seen any 6 speeds.
hey man I could use some dimensions ill try and find your information because im making similar plate for m104 and will likely need another for a v12. what hurdles did you have ?
A couple hurdles I ran into was finding the right distance from the engine for the trans to match up correctly. Cutting the bell housing square was a hurdle, even with the mill. One tip would be measure, measure and measure again. It’s possible but definitely not the easy button. Best of luck with your project! 👍🏻
Hi, I’ll be cutting and welding my own in house. In the US I am not sure of any companies that currently build these. I’ve heard of a few attempts but nothing for sure.
Honestly I haven’t looked into it. I’m sure there’s something out there but haven’t looked yet. I know they are vvt. Which I plan on utilizing with the MS3Pro.
@@dream_killer_racing ms3 or holley was what I was going to use. So basically you took a plate, welded it to the case and drilled holes for the v12 block.
@@2brothersracingllc756 looked at Holley they are only setup for v10 on ignition so unable to use unless it was updated in v6 which I haven’t checked yet. Ms3 pro does 12 injectors and sequential v12 I believe by batch fire. As for the the transition we used the merc bell housing welded to one side of the plate and welded the 6 speed case to the other side after everything was lined up. The protrusion of the input shaft vs pressure plate and clutch engagement was super pertinent. Also how deep the input shaft engaged into the back of the crank for stability. Measured a ton of times in order to be sure all this was perfect. End result of that is what ya see in the video with prefect alignment. 👍🏻 what are you putting it in? Have one yet?
@@2brothersracingllc756 chose these based on cost. Was able to grab 3 for $200. I’ve read the guts are good just need to make some modifications to the shifter location and shift forks.
I’ve read that they are anywhere from 530lbs to 650lbs depending on accessories and intake / exhaust. We are Ditching the stock intake and stock exhaust manifolds along with quite a few accessories. A stock LQ4 LS motor comes in around 530lbs so it really shouldn’t be any concern for the front weight or suspension. When we get everything mounted we’ll put it on the scales and see where we are at. I’ve started test fitting the motor and trans now that they are together (video coming soon) and I can get the motor to the firewall no problem. Def. be interesting g to see what the ratio from front to rear will be!
"I'm just doing this for something different."
I'm absolutely mind blown, what a kick ass build!
Thanks man! Hoping it all comes together!! Gonna be wicked!
Love the build 😆 I found one of your videos on accident and have been watching them all, keep doing what your doing👍
Thanks!!! Glad you’re enjoying it too! Planning on it 👍🏻👍🏻 hoping to have the motor and trans in by mid Nov. we will see 🤞🏻
Awesome Video.
Do you have the old Merc transmission available?
Dreaming of swapping one of these into a G320, mind if I ask for a ballpark of what this projects taken? Super impressive work!
To tell ya the truth I haven’t really put numbers down. Scared to lol. Maybe I’ll do a video on cost at some point. Outline each area?
Hi I heard that a Chrysler crossfire transmission should bolt right up? Your thought on that?

Where could I get the equal length headers you’re getting made? Am I able to order a set?

I've been looking at these merc v12 motors, do you know if they make aftermarket cams for them?

@@dream_killer_racing and why did you decide to use mt82 instead of a t56, cd009 etc.

Thnx for the reply, its not so bad and im assuming it the same length as a 6 cylinder( 2jz, s54,rb26)
No prob, happy to answer questions 👍🏻 yep same length as the merc M104. So typical 6 cylinder length. Other than added accessories up front
why not just use an l......just kidding, love this project...
😂 thanks I’m enjoying it too!
