Great riding Ed. Been out here for a few weeks. Chunky is how I’d describe this island. 😆. Me and 2 mates rode across the island and back yesterday 120 miles 16,890 ft of climbing. If you’re here for a while 100% recommend it. 😎
Looks awesome Ed and the roads look so smooooth .. Would love to go but am concerned about the drops on the side of roads as am a scardey cat when it comes to heights 🥶 At least the other half would love the weather next to the pool 😆
@@edlaverackThanks bud! I swear I looked, but I must have been tired and thrown off by the phrasing. Looks like they're fresh out of cargo bibs, but I'll be ready when there's more!
Would be interested to hear about your fuelling for long rides in hot conditions - I know that Styrkr carb mix has electrolytes in it so would you mostly rely on that or would you have electrolyte tablets as well? I find having carb mix all day a bit much for the stomach but I’m conscious of getting the carbs in so just having electrolytes isn’t enough if that makes sense.
Great point! The carb mix doesn't have electrolytes in actually, so if you need sodium etc you will need to combine one of the 500 or 1000mg tabs in a bottle with the carbs. What you talk about is a common problem, and I hear it a a lot locally on group rides. Essentially you will need to replace electrolytes but ideally you need to know what your sweat rate is like and what the contents of that is to make the most of it. Say what you want but I have completed some massive training sessions and events with no electrolyte consumption and ONLY carb mix, so I think it's each to their own unless you notice you are a heavy sweater and only then need to replenish those electrolytes. It is something i am interested in finding more about this year as it happens.
@@edlaverack Thanks for the reply Ed. My stomach will take the carb mix all day I just find it a bit boring & particularly in the heat I feel I should be having some electrolytes as well but wasn’t sure if it should be instead of carbs or as well as. I’ve never really tried mixing the 2 so it would be interesting to see how that goes. Trial & error I guess. I always find fuelling an interesting topic so your thoughts are appreciated.
Cool ride! Just back from Gran Canaria last week! I made a video if you’re bored haha it’s on my channel. Want to try Tenerife but is there enough veriaty for the week? Not just one big climb? Thanks 🙏happy riding

Actually, no, I don't use a media mod!
@@edlaverack ah ok , your sound it`s perfect
thank for answer me
I was literally there last week, but recovering from surgery, saw all the cyclists going up, so bloody jealous! Great video though
Oh no, so sorry to hear that!
What bibs are those? I keep looking for affordable non-black cargo ones. Also looks like a great place, huge volcano fan. Thanks!
Isadore have good options in colour .. Not worth the price though.
These are Band of Climbers, there should be a discount code in the description of this video :)

Does Pozzovivo have a team for this year?
This is his final year as a Pro, and will be racing for Bardiani
Hope he does well, another top 10 in the giro 🤞

I think there is enough variety for a week. I don't think I could be here any longer though...
@@edlaverack cool thank you and thanks for the reply 😊
irl zwift volcano climb😅 Just with way more elevation
You can climb all day … one benefit of not being so lightweight is that I don’t need a 35km climb for that
😂😂
