So I think for some shots the difference was much clearer. But for others, I think it was really hard to tell, which clip came from which camera. I made follow up video to test the cameras with the same lenses for each shot. It is a lot harder to notice the difference here, I think. Go see for your self: th-cam.com/video/Jn2QSUO6o30/w-d-xo.html
wow. I was just choosing which composition I preferred from each image and it was about 50/50. Sometimes I appreciated the color more for the A6000. Could usually spot the texture/focusing difference the a7iii had and preferred that. Pretty crazy comparison considering the price points of each.
Hi man, Thanks for taking your time to comment on my video. I really appreciate that!! I totally agree with you. I made a follow up video to this one, where i use the same lenses in a more controlled environment, I think the focus/texture becomes even harder to spot here. I believe it just goes to show that camera is just a tool, and if you know your craftmanship you can come a long way even if the tool is eight years old :)
Thank you a lot , i have an Sony A7 mk1 but i buy today an A6000 , your very good video confirm me my purchase , respectfully Roland Tan , Thank you a lot
So i wanted to pick up the a7ii but i recently just bought both the m50 mkii, and an a6000. The brick wall comparison convinced me to wait. Instead i’ll use that money to buy some lenses and maybe a heavy tripod and slider. Great video.
Good comparison. The a6000 is a great value but the a7iii is clearly clearer. I'm considering an a6300 for my occasional video productions, but I keep getting lured by the full frame units. I feel like I should have a bigger sensor camera in my 'arsenal' but I wonder how much I would actually take it out with me because up till now I have been devoted to small cameras. I hate to tie up so much money for that little extra quality. I could spend it on hi-fi! 🤔
damn, i got a6000 last year and the only complain i have is with videos coming out jittery...i have 30mm f1.4 sigma and 50mm f1.8 sony lens, yet in video its so jittery. Did you stabilize the footage for a6000 in post production or are these videos direct from camera?
It's been a while since I did the video, so don't hold me up on this. But I don't think I did any stabilization to the footage. You really can move your feet, when shooting on the a6000. You can get away holding the camera tight and move your body, but thats it. Some of the movement in these clips are done in post (the panning from one side to the other)
Hi. Thank yiu for this intereting tests. In test number 5 and in the last test, I made mistakes with my answers. In test number 5 the difference is not noticeable, but in the last test, the wheels of the toy car are more detailed on the a6000.
Hello there. Let's clear that i am an amateur. I was trying to choose with my criteria and 90% of my chooses was with a6000. I don't know if i am wrong or right, but with my "taste" a6000's images was better. Thank you mate that was a great video.
Thank you 😊 that is interesting to hear, i think. Spec wise and prize considered it the a6000 is the inferior camera. But in the end taste is subjective, so no wrong or right here :)
Hey, good video. I’m looking to buy a camera - for now renting a camera until I decide to buy. Do you have any recommendations on a camera that’s good for taking photos of people? I find that I’m not photogenic on smart phones but I look better and more presentable when I use a GH4 for example. Which camera would you recommend that would good for taking portrait shots of people ? Thanks for the video. I found the A7iii to be better and I found it easy to identify it in th shots you took.
Hey brother! Thanks. I made another one inside with optimal lighting, I think it is much harder to see the difference here. Regarding your question it of course depends on you budget and the use of it (camera). For photos the a6000 is really good I think. But you miss out on some of the newer features cameras have these day, but you save a lot of money. You could also consider the a6100 which has improved color rendering. If you want a full Frame the a7iii is more than capable and again the a7iv has some more features, that are nice to have but doest give a better picture in the end. If you like the GH4 and the look it gives, you could consider staying with Lumix. I don't know that much about this brand I'm sorry though. If I wasn't invested in Sony, I would properly consider fuji, which I think produces some really nice images out of camera. I hope this helps you choosing a path to go.
Перечитал все комментарии и описание к видео, но так и не нашел на кокой объектив снимали на а6000? Можете сказать? Спасибо за сравнение, просто супер!
Wow the diffrence is quite huge actually. I guessed the A7iii images directly while i normally don't tend to see the diffrences between them that much. Did you use the same lens on both camera's or what lenses did you use? It seems you used a less sharper lens on a6000.
I was actually a bit surprised too. Especially on the first ones. I used a variation of lenses, because I tried to match the focal lengths, so you couldn't tell the camera by the crop. I might make some testing with the same lenses to see if the clear difference persists
people buy more and more expensive and more powerful cameras, but before that they do not fully use their older ones. In the a7iii you can see more differences only in larger portrait close-ups. Better ergonomics is also a fact, but the most important question is whether we need it. Amateurs trade a7iii for a7iv.......
Absolutely, I completely agree with you! The psychology of upgrading often plays a significant role. It's easy to attribute limitations to your gear when, in reality, honing one's skills and creativity can make a world of difference. Marketing does play a role in convincing us that the latest technology will vastly improve our results, but as you've mentioned, many photographers have proven that older equipment can still produce exceptional results when used skillfully. It's all about the photographer's vision and dedication to their craft. Thanks for sharing your insights! 📸😊
I know it may not be answered, but in case someone sees it, I am beginner in this world (well, hopefully ill be when I get a camera) and in my country at my budget I can afford either a6000 or the a7mk2 as a very first mirrorless camera, which one would you recommend? It would mostly be used as a landscape photography, night shot stills etc (no videos, no people portraits etc, I like nature, animals, beautiful views etc).
Hi. I would buy an APC-sensor camera if budget was an issue. See if you can get the 6300 or 6400, they are a little better, but the a6000 is still a really capable camera when in comes to photography. The reason i would pick the apc is that the lenses are usually cheaper as well, and you see a lot of people starting out with apc and then switching to full frame so with some luck you can get some good second hand deals on uses apc lenses.
@@johannesbgonzalezunfortunately my budget is about 500$, and in that price range in my country at least i can only fiy a6000, i may be able to squeeze out tad bit more for a6300 if its worth it since difference is not too big, i can find a6300 with 16-50 lense under 600
My first thought, was a yes. But it really depends on what you need the video for. But if I only had the a6000, I would probably upgrade for better video my self. So the conclusion must be a yes.
But it is worth looking into better option. The a6xx lineup is getting bigger and bigger. There might be some good deals there. And of course depending on your budget there are better newer cameras than the a7iii out there.
why do I like more the a6000 image? I also live in cph and I am plannimg to buy either a used 6000 or an a7iii. I want to shoot people on the street, somewhat street photography, but if I buy second hand I get a 3500 kr for a good 6000 from mbp or an used a7iii from dba around 4500. The difference in price is not that big, but I do like the specs on a7iii and the fact it does come with better screen and better batery, color range and iso. I have never held a camera in my life, but for some reason, the picrure for me looks better on a6000. I went guessing on what I thought it looked better, and all my guesses were a6000. Now, what should I do? I am not interested in video at all.
Hi, Nice to meet you! I understand the dilemma. I'll give you my thoughts and perhaps it will help you make a decision. Where the a7iii shines over the a6000 is in video. In pictures, although, the a7iii on paper should be better, it is very hard to see any difference unless you shoot in very low light conditions. And to be honest I can't say for sure it will that big of difference (I haven't compared it in a real life test 1 to 1). For the a6000 I see these pros: You can get the a6000 for 2000 kr on dba. And the lenses for APC-sensor cameras are cheaper in general. So you can more gear for the money going this route. It is smaller and weighs less just like the lenses, which makes it easier to bring with you. (I often takes this camera with me because of this instead of the a7iii). Cons: You'll miss out on video performance. It doesn't have eye focus and you cannot focus by touching the screen (a feature I personally miss). In general the focusing system might be slower, but I don't really feel a difference in real life scenarios. Battery life is worse (you can just get another battery). Doesn't have minimum shutter speed limit, when using auto iso (also a feature I miss) Pros for the a7iii: Better video performance in quality, coloring and focusing. Comes with the touchscreen focusing. Has in body stabilization which is useful in video and can be for photos (in low light). Has better performance in low light. Has better battery life. Has minimum shutter speed limit in auto iso. Has more programmable buttons. Cons: More expensive and the lenses are more expensive. It's bigger and weighs more. All in all I like both cameras a lot. I've had the a7iii since it came out and I have used for it a lot of street photography but also work like portraits and events. I bought the a6000 used because I wanted a smaller camera that is easier to bring with me also on the days, where I don't really feel like shooting anything. It is an older camera but the image quality is on pair with the a7iii. If I was you I would properly go for the a6000.
@@blabla871 Not very much. It is true that a higher shutter number comes with a higher risk of shutter failure. But you need to make a lot of photos to ever get that high. My a7iii is at 18.000 and I have used it for 6 years now.
