i loved the 7 hours 44 minutes of spa today it was amazing!!!
[THIS IS A JOKE BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP REPLYING TELLING ME "ITS BECAUSE OF THE RED FLAG" AND THEY KEEP ARGUING]
The clock kept running during the red flag
@@StuntpilootStefthey added an extra hour and 44 minutes after it took so long to repair the barrier
@@joaquingonzalez834ffs, I stopped watching at 15 mins left of the red flag with the though that Ferrari got a 1-2
Just call it the first ever 8 hours of Spa.
Very weird. This has never happened before it's quite unsatisfactory.
Absolutely epic decision to race the lost red flag time. Huge thumbs up to Eduardo and his team.
What do you mean?
@@tanujadas9651the race was red flagged on the last 1.5 hours. And it remained like that till the timer ran out. So they decided to add back all that time.
The bad decision was the weird refuelling rules which favored cars bad at managing fuel. How can a car a lap down suddenly have a 1 minute lead? We coupd have had a great multi-car fight for the win. Instead, the winner was already decided at the restart.
@@askeladden450 Those are just the red flag and SC rules. Had the race resumed without adding time the Porsches would have still won.
@@namesii1880 wdym? and why are you talking like all prosches are the same. Jota are completely different from the porsche that was actually good, namely the 99 proton. Its not that porsche won, its that the porsche that should have been fighting for victory suddenly got thrown out of the top 5. And the worst porsches ended up 1 and 2. Next time, we should just roll a dice to decide the outcome.
Next year 8h of Spa pls ❤
It should be 12 hours

Thank you WEC for resetting the clock to the time when the red flag came out so us viewers didn't get a 4 hours and 12 minutes of Spa. Should be a rule in endurance races.
Its just so nice to see the look of the Jota teams faces seeing them so happy and cheerful about their first historic win with the 963. Amazing.
First time ever in the WEC a race was won overall by a privateer team

They manipulated the Race
@@user-swvn3ti2d ferarri might have been robbed
@@user-swvn3ti2d You're not funny.
@user-ml8vn3ti2d no, they fixed it, clock should stop for red flag, it would have been the 4 hours and 16 minutes of Spa, they did 6 hours of racing, its legit
Everyone complaining about the 7h and something of spa.. Do you realise there was 1. A lot of stop time with fcy, vsc, sc and 2. The 1h40 minute addition was the time lost because of the red flag (barrier repair). If the race would have ended there the podium especially in lmgt3 would have made no sense.
This was the right decision to simply race the 6h. (Btw I was there so its not like idk what Im talking about like the majority of the comments)
No, it was a bad decision. The most ridiculous decision of all time. Said that, I'm done.

A middle finger to Motortrend TV for showing the entire red flag break and then going to Shortys Garage right at the green flag on the restart. F shorty and his garage as well...
lol 😂, it hard to find these races in the USA, just discovered that tnt sports on Xfinity shows moto gp live, all this time I’ve been looking at TH-cam highlights.
@@seandp85 check raceday watch it lists all streams for series ;)
Sometimes I've found the WEC races on the Velocity channel, this one was on there. But it seems they barely broadcast these races. Wish they would broadcast them much more.
@@seandp85 I had to Google where MotoGP was the Sunday of the first race this year. I found the article and then had to figure out where the channel was.
Nah your 200% right bro I hate that
The Proton certainly was ruffling some feathers, the Caddy came alive, I believe a podium was probable. The number 5 Porsche needed this break but to no avail. The 499Ps dangerous very lethal. Come ye soon LeMans.
Boys...dinner is being served.
Can’t wait! 😁
I think with one more yellow the Cadi would win it. Dude just needed some patience...
Why was the 99 off the pace near the end?
Never been more excited for LeMans than I am this season 👍
Best decision honestly was made today and every single fan loved it. "Longest 6 hour race in history"
No way I thought #92 car would be able to be repaired by race time....amazing
Manthey factory is an hour from Spa, easily doable
Aaand finishing 2nd! Incredible drive :D
I really hope they don't lose that P2
In the pre race they said the Manthey factory at the Nurburgring was only 90 minutes away and they had the new car ready at around 7:00 local time
double one two finish of Porsche What a day!
I went to bed with 2.5 hrs of race left (Australian) and never would've picked JOTA for the win! Wow! Incredible race..hats off to the proton team, drive of the day
That was intense. Oh I love WEC so much.
Sad cadillac noises
The screams of ''WHY....?????'' from Cadillac team management to driver Earl Bamber......
He was a bit too impatience on that attack at the kemmel straight...
But yeah they couldve gotten a podium
sad WRT noises!!! That crash was a littke bit unnecessary ;(
@@_Ben4810 any video of that?
Everyone involved in that crash is sadly a racing incident no one to blame Cadillac charging at speed to the 99 Porsche which made him to do a block (there’s nothing wrong with both of them) but the BMW has at the wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately
Well done Richard Leitz. Simply the best.
WEC is the best!

@@user-zz3fk4pt2g are you new to racing? Who cross the line first is the winner.
But not taling about that talking about the process getting there. If you can't talk about logic why bother to even type anything.
Let me repeat again, no rules should give any competitor a minute lead and heavily penalized those that is unlucky.
Today, monday 13 May, I gonna see in TV the last 1h44min, again and again and again !!!😊
The decision by race-control to basically stop the clock at the time of the red flag and have the race to continue for that lost time was the best thing i have ever witnessed by any race-authority in all of the 40 years that I follow motorsports. Bravo!❤👍🍻
I hope the WEC will adopt it as a general rule.
Totally agreed, we all enjoyed a lot today.
Agree, but the rules should be revisited because for some teams it was really really unfair
This was a special case and understandable because they spent 1 hour 40 fixing the track barriers, if this had happened with 30/10 minutes remaining it would have ended with a red flag
It would have been fairer if all teams could have refuelled during the red flag. Jota and Penske were basically gifted 1st and 2nd, but it was a great race nevertheless.
Yea but they should have allowed to refuel all cars. This was basically 30second stop and go for Ferraris and Proton. I would not call this fair
What a race! Only on WEC!
Just got home. What a mega mega day. Just 100% awesomeness delivered. Porsche 1.2 1.2 after all the battles.
Porsche 1-2 in both Hypercar and GT3. Porsche woke up and chose violence today
(Yes i know about the red flag, but as they say "You make your own luck in this sport")
Porche payed well the stewarda today. That's all.
@solinvictus1234 Sure buddy whatever you say.
@@Bs_Void I say what is under everyone eyes. Never in history an endurance race was extended more than his natural time. No case in history the 24 hours of Le Mans or any other endurance race was ever extended, no matter what was happening and no matter how much time was left on the race. Cause that is the meaning of Endurance racing, to endure under a certain and definite amount of time, into the race, no matter what.
A total robbery happened today. Endurance concept was trashed by Germans that are cheating in motorsport since Singen 1994. A total shame.
@@solinvictus1234 Good for you 👍
@@solinvictus1234 The OTHER teams that lost??!! They brought a knife to a gunfight. Apex-Predator on a racetrack is a Porsche, everyone else is vying for first loser. And what about that DINOSAUR 911 with the engine in the wrong place...STILL waxing the field relentlessly. THE Bench-mark.
Good job Callum Ilott 🥳

Absolutely crazy ending to the race in LMGT3! 🎉 as a Manthey fan could not be happier! LMGT3 has been awesome this year
1-2 for PORSCHE in both categories! Bravo!!... Awesome!! what a great race!!
Yet another fantastic race.
we need a race longer than 6 hours but shorter than 12 hours more
The call to extend the race was the right one and it lead to an extremely exciting finish. Whomever put that rule in the book deserves a hearty pat on the back.
That call was the death of endurance racing. A slap in the face to others team better strategies plan on 6 effective hours of race and an huge testify to us of how stewarda had to get Porche win this race.
As an endurance fan i'm vomiting. That decision is disgusting, are races made upon a definite amount of times, not on laps made and endurance rules say clearly that the clock will not stop at any red flag and the race have to end at the end of the race time.
another controversial Porsche win
Personally, I go with the benchmark: NEVER bet on Porsche to lose.
@@user-zz3fk4pt2g I can second this. It’s almost like watching sebulba racing pod racers sometimes lol
another perfect day for Porsche
what an effort from Jota ! respect
Cadillac to Earl Bamber: “we’ve decided to go in a different direction moving forward.” Impatience cost them a realistic podium finish.
That car was nowhere until Earl got in it. While he did cost them a potential podium, he also got them to the position they were in at the time too.
@@Woodsy3211 tbf, Bamber's push was only enabled because Lynn was conserving tyres in the opening stints. Was a good drive by Bamber until his brain fade but hugely enabled by his teammate
To be Fair to Earl Bamber most likely he didn’t see the BMW right beside him he focus on the Aston Martin (Ahead on the same side of Aston Martin is the BMW) then the 99 Porsche hence why no lift (most likely)
Porsche is da big winner! Huge momentum push for em
Bring back the LMP2’s
First victory for customer team.
Callum Ilott deserves a single seat drive next yr.
I'd love to see him back in IndyCar, but Jota and WEC are an upgrade on Juncos.
great stuff, the insane crash bringing out the red, the time extension and that finish. iron dames "may" not be happy with their finish after starting SO strong. 🏁
Good result for mick schumacher with p12
First privates win in hypercar
For some one who don't know about the restart of the rave , i put the whole rule in the previous video
So sad for the Iron Dames they could‘ve won this were dominating the whole race.. They really miscalculated there too fuel wise 🤦♂️
Golden era of motorsport
I'd rather watch WEC than F1.
Nice race for Hertz team Jota LET'S GOOO!!!!!!!!!! Just a little unfortunate for Toyota Gazoo Racing
Ferrari got absolutely robbed off the 1-2-4 Proton also got screwed over for being the better Porsche team the whole week. If you are going to rewind the clock and reset the race gaps then you should have allowed change of tires and refueling.
Exactly. Yes this is motor racing and these things happen but at least if it is red flagged let the teams to refuel and change tyre. This way you are punishing the leader even more. You cannot explain the unfairness of this sport to a non motorsport fan. There is no other sport that I know of that has so much unfairness in it. And everybody seems to accept it because it adds more excitement and unpredictibility.
Geez those Iron Lynx Lambos were thirsty in this race. 😨 Both Iron Lynx and Iron Dames having to make extra stops.
That's the price you paid when you use engine both with most cylinders and displacement on grid
It's a fugly vehicle to boot.
Porsche masterclass at spa..... ❤❤❤
Ilott and Stevens winning without Norman Nato. Proving that 2 driver races should be more of a thing imo
You can pull it off of course it used to be done, but fatigue is biggest enemy in endurance race so have a third drivers help
@@kidpagronprimsank05 true. Definitely not worth doing for LeMans
Congrats Porsche! Felt bad for Cadillac tho
4:49 there is a massive flaw in that statement
Glad they didn’t call it at the red flag. All the work and effort of these teams, thank you for finishing it!
Awesome result....
Apart from me being a Button fan 😂
Porsche is Legend 💯🔥🙌💥🏆🏆👏👏👏
WEC >>>> F1
I can think of two instances when a WSC race wasnt restarted in the Group C era. The 1985 Monza 1000 km was interrupted because of a fallen tree . The leaders up until that point was the Kremer Porsche 962 of Winkelhock & Surer and were declared winners. The 1990 Montreal 480 km was interrupted after 61 laps because of a manhole cover that became dislodged from the ground effects of a car and landing on the Brun Porsche 962 of Jesus Pareja. Both these races were not restarted and drivers and teams received half points.
Porsche ❤
Porsche dominance can bore fans
😍😍😍😍
The bmw flashing behind the Toyota 😂😂
Honestly Damn that was a very good race can't wait for highlights
Love how we get mistakes of the commentator on this ep of 2024 wec favorite when he call a BMW a mustang
A lot of people complaining about this race was too long. While I'm only interested the 24 Hours of Spa, this is the only proper lenght for a real endurance race. See you at the end of june, same place, more race!
who the hell is watching an endurance racing series complaining about the race being too long?? let alone the allotted 6 hours there's 8,10,12,24 hours
The only people mad the race continued reinstating the lost time of the red flag are Ferrari fans 😂 Everyone else it's happy with the decision
ferrari absolutely deserved to win and were on course to doing so but i don't think some of these fans have ever experienced a red flag and just bad timing. literally sobbing over the race not being ended after 4 hours instead of the actual 6. WEC & the FIA are goated for giving us the entire racing time
A change of bop rules can turn result completely, not pure racing..
JOTA!!!! Well done everyone
FERRARi!
Edorado Freites for FIA's President.
Congrats to porsche! Definitely though bop will be changed again for lemans. The non ferrari or porsche cars just have excessive bop
Especially the Peugeot. Heaviest car with second less power...
What an unlucky day for WRT 😅 for the 31 to have a pretty much faultless recovery drive on a weekend where the 92 was in pieces due to a driver error yet still end up losing a whole bunch of points sums up the weekend at their home track.
Proving that it wasn't the FIA's whim to add an extra race, it would require more explanation than usual.
That day I was cheering for the 6 porsche, loving the 2 caddy's comeback, neither of them have won, the 12 porsche crew drove a great race and won this one however the real winner yesterday was motorsport, adding the extra race time was the best decision from the sport perspective in a long time, F1 has been red flagging races and letting them run to the end and now WEC is showing how it should be done
