So peaceful compared to to the music they have in movies nowadays. When I hear this music in B& W movies , it brings me back to when they would show these movies on TV as a child on the school holidays .
Stop saying Underrated. In your head maybe, but it was & still is very rated thru the 20th Century. Only in Millennial land is everything they.see or watch they immediately say UNDERRATED!
Likely, the most Dreamy of Noirs ... Noirs are the most intimate of art forms - they are intimate conversations. ... They don't DICTATE to you - as with too many 'amusing park rides' of too many contemporary films. .. They welcome you as a PARTICIPANT with your own dreads, dreams, and desires. ... Additionally, dreamy Noirs like this one are best watched under the covers, late at night, and hopefully, under a rainy night.
Darn good movie. Seen it before and it's even better the second time. I'm not much of a fan of soupy romance movies, but this one held my attention from the very beginning. Great love story and an awesome musical score. Cummings and company all gave stellar performances.

Saw comment can't find that when costumes by listed in the credits, it's a cherry on top. I'm always surprised by how many credits don't include who did the clothes, but show hairstyles even when it's not a period piece.
Funny, in the end of credits there are only 13 names listed for producing this film, now there are 100s of names giving in accreditation, for the making of an ordinary film.
Good movie, but the second half varies greatly from the Woolrich novel. Also, Don Wilson - the announcer for the Jack Benny radio program - has a cameo as night club owner, Fats.
A great film noir of crime and suspense, Helen, starring the great Robert Cummings and brilliant character actor Peter Lorre. I think the Goddess of Tamil Nadu will enjoy it!☕👍🌹🌻♥♥😎
Mr Roman is quite a psychopath. One thing i noticed, when Eddie was racing the train, several shots of the speedometer showed it going up to 100 mph, and several to 110 mph. No big deal though.
An honest man - looking for a fresh chance in life - finds a nice posh wallet in the street. The owner is a rather mysterious yet very brutal gangster type with a very beautiful - yet lonely & manipulative - blonde wife in tow. O, What could possibly go wrong, huh ?
Peter Lorre would be alright in this role if he didn't keep spitting ... doesn't make his character very appealing. I guess it was acceptable in the forties, fifties, thirties, twenties and some other decades?
super film mais a la fin il y une incoherence ...Comment le bras droit du malfrat peut mourir en voiture aec le train alors qu'il est tué dans le magasin chinois en Havane?Bon ca reste un bon film noir.
I'm 30 minutes in and I'm about to dip out. I don't vibe with any of the characters. The Chuck should have kept his day job cause he's not brite at all. Eddie is an oddball. Peter Lorre is Always on point.
Movie poor in every way Cummings got better in his over all career but not here, but never quite good enough to actually come across as a genuine hero type; but give him marks for never giving up.The blonde actress very poor casting, mobsters too damned sinister for words. The ending of them FOFL how very convenient and appro. of nothing much.
Can we take a moment to just appreciate the music?
Glory!

Bob looks so young in this and it's 1946.
Hes fabulous. Thank you for the download. ♥ ♥
Because it's 1946 & back then when you are filmed you still look young, frozen in time. Unfortunately we all get older & physically change.
Gotta love the Multi-Talented, and underrated actor Bob Cummings was. Thanks for sharing this wonderful oldie. 👍👍 10⭐
A unique film that belongs in it's own category,
whatever that may be... Great!
A very underrated movie. I remember never hearing of it before and seeing it on TH-cam, so I checked it out and really liked it
It's excellent. 👍

Looking forward to watch this intriguing movie in HD quality. Thanks in advance : )
Back seat gas and brake pedals were a nice touch, that gave backseat driving a new meaning 😊
-- Black and white films are the best. 😊❤️⚪️⚫️
It's an art form. I love films from this period.
I vow never to watch a “colorized” film.
Exactly, these kinda films are the best!

Well well said...
Thank you for vietsub
Why did B/W ever go out of fashion its the best and its all I watch
@christop_bader Right?! Well, CCC is "the" place to be for B&W movies. Hope you enjoy! Cheers!!
its never out of fashion
Guter Film . Ich mag die Liebesgeschichte
Very nice movie back when things were a lot different I do really enjoy this kind of movies Never hear of it before though! 3 thumbs up 👍 👍👍
Don't know about different. Mental illness, domestic violence, coercion all seem to be contemporary themes.
Saw this years ago but definitely worth a double take. Very good flick, tku for post.
2nd watch for me too.
fantastic thank you
Awesome movie excellent acting great story .
Good film. Thank you for posting.
Great movie 🎉

Gritty little thriller, not exactly noir, with Robert Cummings, Steve Cochran and the great Peter Lorre
Misfit: Peter Lorre is a wonderful slimeball of an actor - truly unforgettable

❤ Great film! Thanks for posting. Loved the twists in the plot ❤
Great 😊
Loved Cochran in "White Heat".
If it's HD, I'm all in!

A lot of people went uncredited back then, only the heads of the departments got credited, not the teams that worked for them.
Yes, everybody has to get a participation medal these days. @@eidolon1809
@@eidolon1809not to mention a film from this time didn't need thousands of CGI artists like the monotonous dreck that is put out today.
Super film❤

Exquisite! Keeps you in the sark while giving you a cookie.😄
The Cutty Sark?
Underrated a very misused word nowadays, something is not underrated because one has not seen or heard of it.

Oh yes my dear man
Hi helen 😊
I don't get what happened after Scotty sees the lady get shot in the store in Havana? He then wakes up and calls the doctor?
I'd like to see Mr. Roman.
A cena do acidente com o trem é bárbara. Peter Lore parece que sabe que vai morrer😢😢😢
If there would be a 2024 reboot then Jacob Elordi would be a perfect choice for playing Mr Roman
Love everything about the movie but I don't get it at the end.
It could be something like the books we read when we were little “Consider another End for the Story” 2 outcomes in one Movie 😊 Wooowww

Those vehicles from 40's CANNOT manage 120MPH

O, What could possibly go wrong, huh ?
It would have made more sense to have lost a few seconds and have the model car give way to the model train (at about 1.24.00)
I laughed out loud. That was "overkill." 😂
