This was done on Dolphin Emulator and not a real wii, a savestate was used because I wasn't expecting this fastball to happen which is why you see the yellow text and a slight pause time before both pitches
This is the second time I've ever seen a bug in Wii Sports. (The first time involved a bug that requires you to *remove the batteries from the Wii Remote* while you're playing.)
The ball was hit so hard to where it went out of the whole main map of the baseball field. The void around the map is green, so the ball is infinitely falling in the green void but this isn’t softlocked. The game will eventually just rule it as a foul ball and resume.
How do you know it hit the skybox? I don't see why the skybox would have collision anyways cause that would be really unnecessary as the devs never expect you to touch it since that is out of the play boundaries
If only this game had real life physics pretty sure the bat would've exploded and the ball probably wouldn't've made it very far But I can only imagine how fast the ball speed was off the bat
I have never seen this happen before! Last time I saw something freaky like this happen in Wii Sports was when I played Wii Bowling in college and I had one pin left and it wasn’t even standing ON the lane, there was like one pixel of the sprite keeping it standing and it was hovering behind the end of the lane.
When I was younger, I thought it did something cool when you did ‘hit it here’. Turns out that’s just part of the game. Which means, another one of my childhood curiosities was fake…
@NewRaph It would certainly be a hilarious way to do it, making games more difficult to play with absurdly fast throws and increasing the chances of the ball going Out of the Park. Then just outright disable the OotP triggers so the game just softlocks, in essence (barring quitting in the pause menu.) Granted, it would mean other sports would have separate measures. Such as... Tennis- Remove the hit box on the tennis ball so it can't be served. Bowling- The game only lasts for 3 frames. Golf- The shot power is increased by 10x for every shot, or unnatural wind. Boxing- Remove the Mii hitboxes so every punch from both sides don't connect, and instead just push the opponent's head around.
@@derpaderpy4931 That would definitely be hilarious but for this baseball, if you wait long enough the camera comes back to the player and if you had any strikes or balls, those get reset but it takes quite a while
Why were you saving and loading a save state both times the ball was thrown? That's probably what messed with it and I don't see why you would do that lol
I wasn't, I just cut the parts where I didn't hit the ball out, which is why you see the save state being loaded right after I created it, I made the save state as the ball was being thrown, and if I missed it, I would reload the save state until I hit it
But you loaded the exact same save state twice, at 2 different times which was after you missed it and you are 3-0 down. Just confusing lol. But yeah regardless loading it probably messed with whatever logic was going on.@@NewRaph
