Toyota Noise From Dash

  • A howling or groaning noise from the glove box area of the dash when adjusting the volume settings of your ac\heat settings is typically the blower motor assembly.
    Always ensure that leaves and debris are clear from the cowl area of windshield base, as this can ultimately end up in the blower motor casing and cause noise as the wheel of blower motor is spinning.
    Caution for the Air Bag Circuit connectors (they are a bright yellow and typically for this service do not require unplugging). Disconnecting the battery for every service or repair that you may be performing is always good measure. Using a battery saver will ensure you do not lose radio presets.
    Denso OE Parts always recommended for Japanese Imports.
    When replacing the blower as an assembly ,it is best practice to replace the related blower resistor, as they work hand in hand.
    A big thank you to our recent subscribers and our little channel hitting the 300 subs mark. Still trying to work out the sound (just crappy at the moment).Will work to not only bring you more tips oriented videos, but certainly improve the quality of production.

    Nice video, thanks. My one start roaring on speeds 3 and above but will let it run to its end then replace. In Uk Toyota car parts are expensive. Non original parts for Toyota cause more trouble than help or fix issues. 👍🚗

    I have a Prius. I have a very moaning groaning sound from under the dash. Not rattling at all. It used to happen only once a week. Now more frequently. And its most likely to start in a minor or major way when hard braking. Turning the fan back to low or off stops the moan. And it operates fairly normally again. The forums keep mentioning a baffle which opens and closes the vents might be making the noise. Does anyone have an opinion?

    I hav Ae a 2013 Toyota highlander and just last night I started hearing a noise when I turn the temperature dial; it's like a humming noise to adjust to every time raise or lower the temperature. Can you please diagnose this?

    Thanks for the vids but I have a similar noise from the dash of my son's Corolla. When I adjust the fan speed it does not change. But when I select the recirc press between recirc and vent it stop as it switches. Thoughts anyone?

    Any idea what it usually is if the blower motor is noisy and doesn’t always even start spinning? Maybe a relay going south _and_ a broken motor?

    My 1999 Toyota 4Runner has started making a noise from similar location but it's a very soft sound like if a fan was on a low setting. Is it likely the same issue and what kind of ship aside from dealer can I take it to for getting it fixed in LA? Thanks!

    What he did NOT follow up on what the fan dash lights NOT responding.....Obviously changing JUST the fan would not fix the problem, but did changing the RESISTOR fix the dash lights?????????

  • @freddyflintstoned913
    @freddyflintstoned913 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would not have replace the motor resistor. The obvious problem is the broken fan.

    • @Desertcarcare
      @Desertcarcare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mister Berzins ~definitely could just replace blower motor, however that vital resistor works together in that circuit ~if the blower motor, as it wears creates excessive electrical load ~that resistor will be impacted.

    • @Desertcarcare
      @Desertcarcare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also : in many occasions the worn shaft of a blower motor could cause the blade to run out of round ~look at the whole picture and remember there is a cause and effect factor when it comes to replacing a failed component.

    I have a 3rd gen 4runner i was driving with the vents open and hot air was coming out but the air outside was cold, my vent is to the cold side too. Why does this happen? And also driver side vent sounds like leaves inside. How do i fix that?

      The fan is the same type of fan used in your BATHROOM..Yes you can just buy the so called 'squirrel cage'....I did that in my bathroom and it fixed the noise, as stuff just comes loose after a while...
