You are dealing with classic stressors: moving and the death of a parent, plus jet lag. We started a journey similar but not the same 15y ago: retiring at 55 or so, moving from the US and becoming expats...using that base for extensive travel. We went through the deaths of 2 parents...and the accusation that we had abandoned them, which we hadn't. But we had stressors you seem to be blissfully free from, emotionally, financially, and time wise: children. I think many of your followers are in our camp of dealing with long distance child issues: weddings, illness, financial disaster, emotional requirements, distance from grandchildren, inheritance concerns, among others. What you have discussed about flexibility and looking forward are so useful. But with children, all adult children, mind you, there are mindboggling issues that crop up....for example, a suddenly apartmentless child in the US without experience resources calling you in China to fix the problem...where the Chinese block the internet resources one needs. Has anyone else asked you about whether you understood in the planning stages that being childfree made it an easier game?

    Another beautiful video!
What you speak of is everything that I have experienced in my 8 years of travel. It was 5 years in the planning but, once I made that leap, everything else fell by the wayside. In 8 years, I have not had a nano second of doubting the decision I made to quit my job, sell my condo (furnished), get rid of my "stuff" and set sail.
"Travel is the only thing we spend money on that makes us richer."
I'm very sorry for your loss & wish you much patience while digging through 80 years worth of "stuff". If nothing else, it will be an act of love & an affirmation that the changes you've both made in your lives will ensure you don't leave 80 years worth of stuff for others to sift through.
Namaste & best wishes for a speedy turnaround on the tasks at hand.

OMG the outtakes cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣 Love it!
Now all I can say is this: do what you have to do, focus on yourselves and your family. It is a lot to sort through when wrapping up someone's estate, on top of grieving.
As for cats, I have 6! Started w 2 feral sisters, then yr and a bit later rescued a 4 wk old abandoned in neighbour's yard. Then I rescued the 4th, then the 5th, and lastly nursed 3 10 day old kittens and kept one. Voila! I have 6 dependents! I have loved cats all my life (and dogs and really, any animal). So I totally get why it was emotional to contemplate Tanzi's future.
I'm happy you are both doing ok and seem healthy. That is what matters most!

My condolences on the passing of your Dad. Glad you’re both taking time to grieve and reconnect with family. Suggestion: assuming you have the time while you’re home in the UK, you could have a few videos for those of us interested in the UK as a long stay destination. I’ve seen YT videos on the visa process, but not much on where to consider staying, locations that are friendlier to long stay travelers, less expensive areas to consider, etc, etc. Most of what I’ve seen for England is “places to see in London” and typical tourist stuff.

Wow! You're dealing with a lot. You have a great attitude. I thought you might say you're taking Tansy. She's a beautiful cat. I've always loved animals but never had a cat until I started fostering Joy in 2020. Her first owner died, her second owner dumped her, and I'm staying stateside as long as she's living. She's a geriatric cat who has chronic health issues, but she is thriving with LOVE and good vet care. I'm trusting the process that I'm exactly where I need to be and she's traveling all over the US.
Sending you both positive vibes as you navigate this next chapter. I'll be sure to tune in to see what happens next.

Cat lovers will be queuing hopefully. And what a beauty. Your Dad was a very kind man. We are truly concerned looking at our investment pots this week and what this reckless Government has managed to inflict on the Nation. Never thought we could be run by such utter shambolic incompetence. You both must be thinking seriously about how bad this could get? You are both resilient and financially astute but lets face it this could get far worse. Perhaps your views on this in your next update may be appreciated by some viewers trying to plan ahead. Good luck with everything.

Oh my god, I just LOVE you guys! TAKE a break! Take ALL the time you need. You could ring me up a year from now and I'd still jump onboard the Neil and Sarah Adventure! Maybe if you felt like it, you could just post on your private FB page. Let us know how you're doing.... because we wanna know. And mostly because we care! But only if you can do so without it being a total drain while you're in the middle of all these jobs. Neil, if you can get that house sorted out in a month or two, it would be a miracle! Sarah, have a BEAUTIFUL visit with your mum. One final thing (for now) - the bloobers at the end.... I couldn't stop laughing!!! xo xo

Thank goodness you’ve both honed your PMA these last few years. You’re braver than a lot of us would be when confronting change, you have a lot to work through. As I write this, one of my cats is sat on my lap. I bought mine with me from the UK to Canada 13 years ago, so I can well imagine the hard path of rehoming Tansy. I considered that with mine years ago, but the idea was too difficult, so I brought them. Sadly, you can’t take her with you or stay behind to look after her, so get in all the cuddles while you can. Take all the time you need away from TH-cam, I’m sure we’ll all be here when you get back!

We are also happy you are making sure that Tanzy will be cared for :). A few questions for next week's Q&A.
    1) what are you currently thinking for your next stage of travel, ie back to Chiang Mai for the martial arts or a totally new adventure? 2) some feedback on how you’re managing in a world of high inflation, the fall in index funds, stock prices and market volatility, and how this affects your budgeting? 3) would you ever consider going back to work if needed, ie because of everything in 2. above?
Thank you for your brilliant videos, our favorite of the week, which we always look forward to watching 😀

Hello Sarah and Neil, I’m one of your followers and I feel like you two are part of my family. You inspire me because you’re “one of us,” and I’m very happy for your good times and saddened by your “complications” as Neil says😊
The situation with Tensey is really sad and my heart goes out to you and to her, I’m sure God has a plan for her too, He has brought her this far.
My deepest condolences about your loss, btw, the passing of our parents is one of the hardest things we have to endure, many things are just different after that.
I admire your welcoming and curiosity regarding change, and the way you all share your difficult times with poise and dignity, I’m definitely cheering you on, and my suggestion for future shows is just doing what you have been, sharing what’s happening with you all, I think the curiosity of others to hear you is to compare ourselves with you and relate to you at one level or another, it’s what “socializing” is all about.
Laughing, loving and caring together with you has been a good thing! It’s just life, but it gives us hope and perspective about what’s possible and doable!
I look forward to your future videos when you’re ready.♥️

    Another great video guys.
2 things soldiers don’t like: Change and the way things are. 😂
Jokes aside some great analogies and a great outlook on life.
I love your outlook about how you address problems/issues/concerns. I think your experiences so far in your journey have allowed you to develop that outlook.
Systematically dealing with complication is the best way. A little analogy of my own is when I had to address my MSc dissertation. I procrastinated for over a year and it was too overwhelming until I realised I could break it down into chunks/chapters. Since then I just address things ‘bit-by-bit’.
Honestly, I was pi*sing myself at the outtakes at the end. How Neil was getting so stressed and how Sarah just couldn’t grasp it.
Minor update of my own, I’ve been in Thailand for 1 month now and my costs were £800. No alcohol.
Edit: recalculated - £873. However, I have been everywhere in Thailand during that time: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai, Mae Hong Son loop, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin, Chumphon, Koh Tao, Surat Thani, Phuket, back to Bangkok, Pattaya and now in Koh Chang. All on the little 125 cc Honda Click. 😂

I want to be on Everest Base Camp on my 40th birthday. After that, I might spend a year in Central America learning Spanish then once I’ve picked up the language, take a road trip down South America. All the best to both of you while you work through the challenges you’re facing. Tansy is such a sweet ball of fluff ❤️ We’ll be here when you get back. Good luck with everything!

Sounds like you have a good attitude towards all of your challenges. One day at a time. As a recovering over planner I’ve learned that peace of mind now comes from living life on life’s terms and being flexible. I don’t plan much anymore. We are selling our house in Mexico and possibly moving to Colombia but one thing at a time. Downsizing once again. We’re becoming experts. 😏 Wish you the best and we enjoy your TH-cam content whatever it may be.

You both are so calm. I am very impressed with your patience.
    It will all work out
My father passed not long ago, he always would say better days are coming. When something goes not as planned, I think about that saying.
PS. Do those little wireless mics you use connect to a go pro.

Thank you Angel. They do connect to a GoPro (that is what we have been using. However it needs to be a Hero 9, 10 or 11 with the addon called the "Media Mod". Hope that helps.
      Best regards,
      Neil & Sarah

Great video! So glad Tanzy will be looked after and settled into a new home. Too many people are willing to drop a family member's beloved pet at the shelter (best case scenario) or just dump it on the street. 😢 We've often debated about our own two cats and little dog when the time comes for us to begin our travels. They are family and will be looked after in only the best possible way, you can be sure of that! Tanzy is a beauty and I'm sure you will find her a wonderful home. Take all the time you need. We'll be here when you get back. 🙂

Enjoyed that video, I also have cat issues, I’ve been left with the family moggy so long term travel raises the issue of what to do with her?
Regarding your next move travel-wise , I think the most obvious option is to go back to Chiangmai… you seemed settled there.
BTW if you need a Uk address for post etc. you guys are more than welcome to use mine.

I'm from a town similar to Stoke. I left the country aged 25. Post-industrial England is no place for working class folk. Just my opinion. 😀 (Good luck needless to say 🤪👍.)

Bobby and I love pets too and are also traveling the world with two small dogs. You can get a pet passport for that kitty and take her with you guys. It would be great for your fans to see you travel the world with a mascot so they would know it is possible to do it too. Dee

I’m getting very mixed feelings from what you are saying. I’m sure you’re devastated but it feels like got a little fed up with travel. Just be honest, you gave it a good shot. It wasn’t for you, there’s no shame in that. I’m sure you’ll settle back into UK living. All the best with that, just remember we’re only here once.
