Solid review. I have both of these and agree with all your points. I love the hook on the Charge's serrated blade. One-hand open to cut a zip tie is fun!
This is the battle for middle-earth in the multitool world. You can use the Leatherman bits if you buy the old style bit adapter (Supertool & Rebar style) for the Swiss tool because the 3D Philips fits, just don't force it too much.
It's a tough call. The Leatherman is better in some ways, with it's dual knife blades, stronger locks and one handed deployment of those blades... but the Vic Spirit X has all the tools on the outside and more of them and it's slimmer in the pocket... but its a bit of a nail breaker getting them all open...
It’s Leatherman for me. Always. I found a Swiss Champ years ago at work. Never cared for it. It just sits in a drawer. 😂 My most used Leatherman is my little Style PS. I really wish Leatherman brought back the Style CS. I regret not buying it when I had the chance.
I love my Swisschamp... There are times when I want a knife based toolkit, and others when I want a toolkit that has a knife. Stay tuned, I have a new Leatherman Arc arriving tomorrow...
See, there is something I never even thought of... lol I use synthetic motorcycle oil or Lucas Extreme gun oil in the pivots, but never considered that I could use it to cut food. Doh! Oh well, its mainly just in the pivot and I can't imagine a trace amount 2 or 3 times a year is gonna kill me... haha

I have the new top of the line ARC model on order, should be here by the end of the week.

I use food safe mineral oil on any knife/multitool with a blade that could possibly be used for food, ST300 on my belt today :)
