    I'm going to a Plein Air painting on the Connecticut River between Colebrook & Pittsburgh, NH this morning. I've been watching your tutorials in hopes I can do a better painting than I usually do. Knowing this was painted in NH helps!! Thanks for your tutorials.

    Thank you for generously sharing your time and amazing talent with this video. I love how you explain things in such a detailed manner, explaining the process thoroughly. Watercolor is hard to self-teach and I appreciate being able to learn from your videos. This painting is absolutely beautiful, I love the light and how it sparkles through the entire piece, and the colors that are vibrant but realistic. Wow!

    Stunning! Beautiful! Perfect! It's amazing how you transformed all the splatter into tree leaves, sky and rock texture but that sparkling water is mesmerizing. I've seen people produce sparkle in ocean scenes by taking a brush filled with pigment and swiftly swiping across a rough canvas. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this method - for sharing all of it.

    • @RickSurowiczWatercolor
      @RickSurowiczWatercolor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend a warm and cool version of the primaries (red,blue,yellow), a few earth tones such as raw sienna, raw umber. I also like sap green as a convenience green. As far as brushes, Princeton has a few excellent series of synthetic sable and squirrel that are reasonably priced (Aqua Elite and Neptune). I list these on the studio page of my website where I list all the materials I use. rsurowiczart.com/studio/

However I feel like going back to give it a try once again I will definitely try to recreate Ur painting tutorial just to get the hang of it. Although I think wet on wet may work for me better. Because I have tried something like Ur tutorial before and it turned out quite muddy. Have u done any other wet on wet tutorials?

    • @RickSurowiczWatercolor
      @RickSurowiczWatercolor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gayle, I normally use a combination of wet on dry and wet in wet. I frequently use a spray bottle to soften edges and diffuse color which shifts my painting from wet on dry to wet in wet. You'll find some combination of both in most of my videos. I use a rubber cement pick up eraser to lift masking fluid. I list all the materials I use on the studio page of my website rsurowiczart.com/studio/
