    I rebuilt my body using Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 BBB program after my cancer treatment, it was a long process but the program did me wonders. I used an elite FTS SS Yoke bar for all my squat sets. Can’t thank both these pros enough for passing on their experience and wisdom. The program and the bar literally saved my training life.

    Jim is by far my favorite guest. Always tune in when he's up. I'd say just make him the permanent co-host but I know that's impossible.

    GREAT content ,, always love to hear the passion that Jim brings. I've been doing 5-3-1 for 5 years THE BEST training program bar none ,, just turned 63 and still adding weight to the bar each month,,,

    The warm-up for your kids is GOLD - when I think about how much time was wasted getting minimal pull-up work in for the kids, I kick myself. Thank you Jim!!

    • @JimWendler

      SquatRX - this warm-up was/is one of the "secret sauces" of our training. Doing all the standard B.S. warm-up was great for wasting time and following the company line.

    Wendler has quite the eloquent writing style... (The Dr. Jordan Peterson of powerlifting ) lol.
    Bought and read 5/3/1 last year and beyond 5/3/1 January 2022. More so than his programs, his principles really helped give me perspective on making progress. I'm primed up to hit some personal records mid January.
    A big milestone was benching over 300 on my 30th birthday.... This year I hope to hit 345 at 198-205 bw range.

    Im going to run Bulding the Monolith, I can only do chinups and dips for sets of 5 only tho..
    Can atleast half of the assistance be substituted with different exercises?

    • @jw6170
      @jw6170 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll bet if you run it as designed you’ll be doing more than sets of 5 at the end

      @@muhammadtyson8676 If you can only do sets of 5 on dips/chins, i would recommend just cutting the volume in half for the recommended amount - your set of 5 is going to be much harder for you than a set of 5 would be for most people running that program - most people should be doing 12-15 chin ups pretty easily and 15-20 dips. It's fine if you can't do that amount now but just recognize that your relative intensity on those exercises is higher. Unless you have access to an assisted pullup/dip machine, in which case no shame in using that (or using bands).
