- In this video i'm stripping thick aluminum cables and melting them in to huge ingots by pouring them in custom made Graphite Molds.

Unfortunately not. Maybe cast iron, but I’m not sure of that.

I even liked the "clank" of banging the stripped bars against each other. The sound treatment of these videos is always enjoyable. Nicely done.
Why is the machine so wide, when it seems that only a thin area is used?

@@shubhambaidya There are big channels that upload only once a month. And I’m doing projects that take a long time, and all by myself. This video was a quick video because the project that I’m working on at the moment failed, and it set me back 7 days.

What will you do with the ingots now?
You didn't remove the slag before casting the ingots this time. Why not? Or, did you remove it, and just not film that part?
Is the quenching of the ingots in water for dramatic effect? Why not lhem cool naturally?

It's called quadrant aluminium cable. It's used for 3 phase and neutral mains supply off the electricity distribution network.
Why does the aluminum “sinks” when it finishes solidifying?????
I would be gutted if i stripped all that old RYB and only got aluminium.

I need to know why ingots sink into themselves when they cool down. It really bothers me for some reason.
The metal expands when it melts and then contracts as it cools in the mold. The outside cools first because it’s exposed to the cooler air, but the inside is insulated by the skin and as it slowly cools it “sucks” the skin down forming the annoying dimple in the ingot.

High voltage power lines. They are cheaper than copper which makes a big difference on long runs of wiring.

@@vicferrari9380 That diameter wire is solid. A larger size will have several of those wires twisted together like an elevator cable.

I don't understand why just cash it in the way they are. I was going to refine some silver flatware. 925 silver to .999 pure to make it worth 200 dollars more but 2 gallons of nitric acid was 160 dollars plus soda bicarbonate the gas to smelting and time it wasn't worth it. Is this for profit or just a hobby something you like to do?
