We removed the jackknife and built a box. I found a place in Michigan that makes custom foam mattress cut to size. All costs involved to create the bed was under $500.

Pet door in and RV that is scary
That's not a pet door, the screen door was there, he loves just watching the world from it when I have the outside door open.
