Hey Craig, wow, I totally forgot you existed. I used to follow Screw Attack back in the day. I just listened to your podcasts with James and Jirard. I’m so happy to see this channel. I’ve turned on notifications and will be watching all the ads all the way through, it’s the least I can do for someone who was such a huge part of my teenage years. I don’t know if you are still planning to do the podcast, but please continue, I absolutely loved it, and I would love to see Pat Contri on the cast.

This game is so fucking fun I played it well into the late 90s on my NES. Im not even a sports guy, but this and NBA Jam, and NFL Blitz really stuck out as the best sports video games.

Surprisingly the Blades of Steel I grew up with was the Gameboy version which I got really good at I would beat the CPU on Pro. I finally played the NES Blades of Steel by downloading it on the Wii Virtual Console, but despite how dominant I was at the Gameboy version, somehow I couldn't do that well on the NES version. I put the CPU on Pro because I thought both games were the same. lol!
Not only was this the best hockey game for nes the fighting mechanic made it one of the better 1v1 fighting games too
With the exception of Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, the best hockey games seem to be on 2D Sprite consoles.

Whoa. Why was the clock so fast? Is that a game mode?
Nope, that's not because of the mode. It goes this fast in every game. It counts down the first third of the game, then the second etc.
Still mad at the stupid kid I lent my Blades of Steel to when I was in grade school, on the promise that he'd lend me Mega Man. Sonovabitch ended up keeping my game and I got jack schitt.
