- CAN ONE MAN EAT A WHOLE ROAST PIG? We are about to find out... Today I try a highly requested food challenge that I think is impossible - Eating a whole pig. Crispy roast pigs are common in many different cuisines, especially in Asian cuisine! Whether it be crispy pork belly, or whole suckling pigs like this challenge today. We are at "As You Wish" a famous restaurant in Bangkok Thailand which boasts having the BEST suckling pig in Thailand and even the worlds best crispy pork. This top rated Bangkok restaurant generally serves these whole BBQ pigs as family meals and are luxury dining meals often eaten for celebrations and special occasions. However, they dared the world for someone to complete one of their ฿3,500 whole pig meals and I took on the gourmet food Challenge with my friend Yong @10kcalmuscle ! We had 60 minutes to eat the whole crispy pig challenge which included the pig and a large salad, a family order of bread, and a family sized potato chips.. This challenge was giant, and the camera does not do it justice. This is by far the fattiest food challenge I have ever attempted, and likely the highest calorie challenge ever. I would estimate this challenge between 20,000-30,000 calories. It is essentially a 5kg pork belly challenge as the crispy skin has many layers of fat, and it is mostly fat. The pigs take two days to prepare, with the multi step cooking and drying process, which the skin stays crispy for a whole two days! This is the crispiest pork i have ever had, its like eating 5kg of crispy pork belly! Thanks to Yong & As You Wish.

Thats why you have the veggies with the pig to balance it out, when they say it’s to cut the fat it’s not a myth or assumption it’s literally what it’s there for.
Gonna add something here, these people who are saying “but it’s a whole pig what is the greens going to do” are probably not asians. It’s engrained in Asian culture to have balance in our meals and even a small amount of greens/acid can go a very long way.

Acidic dipping sauces help as well. Acid cuts fat which is why a lot of people put pickled things as a pairing with items.

To be clear, that is not a full pig! It is a porchetta. So, a normal pig would be about 50-150kg not 5kg. This for you, Joel is just an appetizer so don't make a big deal over nothing!😅😅😅

Exactly. Perhaps the only real people with the right to complain is vegetarian or vegans and even then they should respect everyone's choice to eat meat as long as its not an endangered species or similar then we should all respect peoples choices. Plus, videos like this are good for local tourism.

Try Lechon from the Philippines. It is a full-sized adult pig, but there is a smaller version of it. The skin is also crispy, it is also cooked over the fire, but the cooking process is a little different since they rotate the pig on a stake to ensure the pig is cooked evenly.

That's a small one. Made for one person. It was a staple item for all events when I was growing up. We had a makeshift giant rotisserie to make this. The pig was put on a steel bar with a steering wheel affixed to one end. Everyone would take turns spinning it. We upgraded to a 2-cycle engine with a chain to turn it years later. Haven't seen it made that way for decades since relocating to the states. Good memories!

Every crunch made my mouth water more and more! I'm not usually into eating meat that "looks like" The animal but that looked and SOUNDED delicious!!! Reminded me of eating a Pork Roast in the UK and getting the Crackling perfectly crispy and juicy, YUM!!!!

I love Pork Crackle..here in New Zealand growing up when mum made a pork roast for dinner us kids would all be hoping we got the biggets pieces of pork crackle lol.
Theirs was alot more brittle then what ive seen here.

it's just the pork skin of a suckling pig/piglet/month old baby pig. if you think a whole pig looks like that you need to visit a farm, leave the city for a few days of your life.

@@iamnotmentalhe says a couple of times that those suckling pigs are under one month old not six. Suckling pigs are max six weeks old as in the name. No six month old pig is still nursing on its mother. Maybe you should visit a farm.
