This is just one of a series of videos showing rehearsals for this event - Angelina was not happy with the band and it took three tries for them to get the timing right - the videos show how Angelina took charge and made her feelings known.

This was on Nov 10th 2014. As others mentioned already, there's a longer clip from the same rehearsal for the song, with I believe three iterations, and the actual performance. There's another rehearsal with Egil at about the same time, not sure if earlier or not. I'll try to give a link in a reply to this post, which is in a playlist which also includes more performances of the song, some more at age 8.

One of the notable things about her early rehearsals - especially the "sound checks" done in the venues where the final performances will be - is how little she seems to be "marking" (i.e., "saving her voice" by not going so hard on loud or intricate parts). I've noticed her do more of that recently. Apparently either someone suggested that to her or she learned on her own that sometimes it's better to "save it" for the final performance.

PLEASE go back and find a longer version of this rehearsal. I think that was the band’s second try. She had them slow it down again, lower the volume of the brass section, etc. the first time thru, you can see Angelina is really upset, gives the piano player the stink eye, and goes and gets someone to tell the band to follow her! It’s amazing to watch “The Boss” at work!

I seem to remember seeing the actual live performance from this rehearsal. There were several videos of this venue. This points out just another reason Angelina is so calm when on stage-she’s been doing it since a small child-standing on a big stage all by herself, singing in front of a bunch of experienced musicians who she has probably already told how to play their parts!

This was a famous rehearsal (among her fans): she had the orchestra go through the song at least three times, each time slowing them down... the first one she was evidently unhappy with as the pace was too fast.... it is fascinating to watch the whole thing - and then the final performance which is also on YT: th-cam.com/video/sWf6qRvRMho/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for doing all this background work. Sometimes even we, who have been Angels for 7+ years, forget how much work she actually puts into her amazing performances. It's too easy to think she just popped out of the egg a fully-developed, world-class singer. As in every field, there are geniuses who never reach their potential, for reasons we may never know. And, we never hear of them. With Angelina, we see a "perfect storm" (place of birth, supportive/protective family, financial resources, work ethic, etc.) allowing this genius/gifted person to develop and flower.

This "comporate event" is an annual awards ceremony called “Orkla Growth Award”, held by Orkla ASA, one of Norway's largest companies - they honor the most successful of Orklay's 20,000 employees there.
The 2014 awards ceremony took place in early November (10th or 11th), so Angelina was still 8 years old, but it had been half a year since her NGT victory in May and the progress she has made since then is correctly described by the host of this event: astonishing.
I believe we see in this video dress rehearsal - cuz she looks more happy with the band as during the takes before, as the band eventually agreed to go at Angelina's tempo rather than at tempo to play by Etta. This three-take-rehearsal video (along with the second video with "final product" in the evening) impresses me every time I watch it again.

My guess is the band leader decided that this little girl will sing at the pace we want to play. Eventually, they played at the pace she wanted. This was, I believe, the third, possibly fourth run through the song. Angie was quite unhappy with the band in the first run ... motioning with her hands and shaking her head, but continued through the song. The band was too loud and playing at a much faster pace than she wanted. By the end (this run) she got what she wanted.

Another brilliant observational reaction. Around this time Angelina had to work with some sub-par bands that didn't realise just who they were working with. One in particular, an amateur swing band, is particularly embarrassing. She struggles with At Last but loses the contest. I can't remember the name of the band (probably just as well) but the conductor is shaped like a treble clef! But in 2017 she hooks up with a top quality military band, Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps, and they make truly beautiful music together! I can't wait for you to get to that video!

She didn’t have to work with those subpar bands, and if you notice, she never worked with them again! They overlooked the fact that she was the performer, not them! I think that was the only example I have heard that she had that problem.

So as others mentioned, I think this may have been the second of three tries, in the last try she slows this down even more for the final performance. The three rehearsal performance video is not listed in this database but I will drop the link here as well as the concert performance for you. You will see her dislike of the rehearsal and take charge. However parts of this video has been edited out unfortunately, her discussions with the conductor, as it was quite long but very interesting, you will see her make signs to show her disapproval. At that time I saw this I was not able to archive the uncut video before removal.

Thanks for another enjoyable reaction to Angelina. Angelina was NOT happy with the band at this event. There is video of rehearsals, I believe of "My Funny Valentine" (trusting my memory), with Angelina instructing the band to play quieter. She didn't seem as upset with band for this rehearsal, so I am guessing it was done after the numerous rehearsals of the other song.

Based on the presence/absence of a mic stand and the amount of activity around her (checking sound levels, etc.), the proper order seems to be: MFV takes, AL takes 1-3, and finally the AL take he reacted to here.

I don't know what video you've got but at this rehearsal Angelina was not happy with the orchestra and had it started again three times with a different tempo until she was satisfied, please got the good one and you will see Angelina that at her young age she knows very well what she wants musically and does not let herself be impressed or discouraged by a group of adult men who do not seem very motivated, I encourage you to continue you are doing a remarkable job.
