when shannon noll was playing in ballarat he told us of how this song saved someone's life. the man was about to give up and commit suicide untill he heard this song on the radio. that proves just how meaningful shannon's songs are. i dont care what people say about him there is no artist like shannon noll
Yes it's s great song and i agree with the sentiment! Suicide is certainly not the answer. Many of us who have felt like taking our lives...there's no shame in feeling this way and it's a very real if not normal human experience. There is an unseen light who is very real and able to handle everything we ever go through.

For those who don't know him, Shannon Noll was first discovered through the 'Australian Idol' competition. Shannon was the eventual runner-up to winner 'Guy Sebastian' in the inaugural 2003 competition. A great vocalist capable of singing a wide variety of song types. The song was used as the main musical promotional theme for the 2006 Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne, Australia that year. It's my favourite song of Shannon's, & it's very motivational. I really like the beautiful hanging/echoing electric guitar work in this song too.

Shannon may not know it but there was a time in my life where I was so scared to return back to the work force after 4 years being a stay at home mom and being an immigrant - I watched him on Australian Idol and fell in love with his voice and his words and how he was just a real person expressing his feelings -- I bought his cd on a Friday and listened to this song for 3 days !!!! and I got up and went to work on Monday and faced my fears ....9 years later I am still there.. I still listen to you Shannon

My favourite memory of this song. It was 2006. I was in year 8 and we were on a school trip to Canberra. We were having dinner. I can't remember whether it was the main meal or the dessert, but one of the guys, Davy, got way too much food, but he was determined to finish it all. Ben, another friend, and I decided we needed to support our friend in his endeavour. Singing this song was what we chose.
