Lyrics:
We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oh-wo-wo-wo, oh-wo-wo-wo
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear
Oh-wo-wo-wo, oh-wo-wo-wo - เพลง

Hi John farnham fans. I'm nearly 80 and this masterpiece of music still energises me, makes me feel alive. It should be the entire world's anthem - everyone should listen to it.
All you fans worldwide - I invite you to join me in my daily Farnham fix - watch the videos of John's live performances of You're the Voice every day - best "energiser" ever.
👍🏌🏌🎶🎶
Apart from listening to John Farnham, is there any advice you can give us to get to our 80s??🙂THX!
Well, guess it's genetics (mum was 95 when she passed. And she smoked until into her 70s, and was still enjoying wine to the end). Don't think "old", don't carry with you negativity from your earlier life experiences, learn to not let the past dictate your emotions now, that's destructive and you're worth far more than that, so believe in yourself. Never allow negative people/feelings into your life, and if they do creep in then watch It's a Long Way to the Top... Store in your mind not only the sheer energy from that song but also the love between John and his fans, and remember it. No one has a perfect life but we can choose to make rhe best of it.
And - I cry when I see and hear perfection - ice skater years ago, Donald Jackson? Canadian? , a friend who is a concert pianist - more than perfection, he plays with heart and soul and you can hear that emotion in his playing . And John Farnham? . The total package. 'nuff said?

Exactly! It sounds like a preaching come out of the gospel. Songs that really matter like this one, we don't find many anymore. You should listen to the brand new version of For King & Country, an australian band now settled in the US.
It's here, trust me. Music changes with the ages, but the human spirit and human condition always shines through with genuine emotions and feelings in some manner...might not always be the way we usually like it
Nothing is going to beat this man in terms of talent. John Farnham is probably the greatest Australian act we have ever had.
I wish more countries knew of this man's existence, because he changed my life and i wish people knew just how much he inspired me creatively.

This is one of the most beautiful song and challenging lyrics of the 80's. It should be aired on all radios and become every country's national anthem! A shame our world hasn't learnt the lesson much ever since! The Christian band For King and Country has just released a great cover of this song on their album Unsung Hero. You should all listen to it. A great rendition. Can't stop listening to it.
This song changed the world!
Best. 80s anthem. ever.

It's a nice sentiment but sadly JF didn't write this song. Watch Finding the Voice to see who wrote the music and lyrics. Several people were involved and in actual fact JF and his team didn't have permission to record it but they did anyway. It's a great story.

I love 80s and 90s music. When you listen to the their message, a message that they came to before the invention of the internet and all the bullshit that came with it, still rings true. It shows me that humans were pretty much the same back then as they are now.

Good post. I think the internet have destroyed Humanity. Its true, or at least keeping lower-middle class exited with clips and funny stuff on the internet. I grew up when normal people stopped outside the grocery store to talk 20 mins asking normal questions. Now people are afraid, manipulated from internet, goverments, psychos playing on other people getting afraid. People sitting home analyzing things. Today I saw a guy in our truck, he was watching 400 clips in 20min on the way to the customer. Hes neck was like the letter L and His brain had transformed into a maximum of 3 seconds memory thinking the rest is deleted from internet.
Anyway good song.

@John Farnham wow i got a reply from you!!! :-) Well I actually just became your fan overnight last night, and i am from Saigon. Have you been to Saigon?
My grandpa played the bagpipe part of this song!😮😁
awesome... my fav part of the song... love me some bagpipes... :)
Liar
Nice! 👍👍
Mate!! That's amazing!!! Your grandpa is/was a fucking dude!!!
Great 😎👍🏻
Very underrated singer but it's timeless lyrics timeless vocals
Not in Australia, he's not!
National treasure!
One of the few songs to feature the rarest of animals, the bagpipe solo. AC/DC's 'long way to the top' being the only other example that comes to mind.
One of THE greatest "message" songs of all time. I was seventeen the first time I heard it and it still has that power to make me wonder why the whole world hasn't listened to it and acted on the message twenty seven years later.
A truly iconic rock song that should be heard by every living soul and taken on board. Classic is simply too mild a world to describe what this song is. It's past that, it towers over most of the music of the eighties and since as if the others are ants scurrying around in the shadow of a mountain.
Agreed there brah, a brilliant song with a strong message in it :)
Bolton fan !
And this is how a timeless anthem is done!

What a song, what a cause, what a person. Peace and reconciliation. We need to learn to listen.
I first heard this song when the bloody war on Bougainville was just starting in 1989...I had goosebumps and I thought to myself that this is it. My people are fighting for their land and they are not gonna sit in silence...Made sense to me at that time and I never forgot this song..Thanks J.F
I noticed you are a fan of John Farnham and a regular visitor to his TH-cam channel, it's really lovely to know the world appreciates good music... How long have you been a fan of John Farnham ?
We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oh, whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear
Oh, whoa
This time, we know we all can stand together
With the power to be powerful
Believing we can make it better
Ooh, we're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oh, whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear
Oh, whoa
Ooh, we're all someone's daughter

The Greatest singer the United Kingdom and Australia ever produced, if only the UK had seen sense and made John Farnham an icon in the UK, rather than the UK's self obsession with American Music. 🇬🇧 🇦🇺
C'mon mate the UK recognise nothing we ever put out there check out the brilliant artists we've produced over the years and the pommy snobs still hold the notion were just discarded convicts
Actually this song was written by two Brits and originally performed by Chris Thompson, a Brit.
fttt…What a joke, not sure where you got that from. Check the top 10 bestselling arrtissts popular music history 70% of them are English, not American- That's despite only having 15% of the population size(England = 55,000,000)
@@lindsaykelly2224 The UK sure does recognise there own musician. It's the home of a list of top A list stars. Often actual pillar stones With in the industrie.
Think of
The Beatles.
Black Sabbath
Queen
Elton John
Radiohead
Phil Collins
Eric Clapton
Sex Pistols
Motörhead
Mark Knopfler
and that's just a few.
If anything the UK has so much great musicians and groups that they outshine almost everything.
And of course John Farnham, who was originally from Dagenham in Essex.
Road trip through Norway, radio plays You‘re the voice! Epic!!
Im an African Australian but I have spent the majority of my life in Australia since I was a child and this song makes me so proud to be Australian. No matter how people say Australia is racist (i get it btw, been a victim) but I will always love my Australian brothers and sisters. We're a special kind ❤

This song is a genuine masterpiece. The 80s was and always will be the dominant music genre. The words have never been so meaningful! Choreography of the whole thing is just incredible and my personal opinion, when the bagpipes come in that’s when the goosebumps kick in. My goal as a future dad will be to never let the 80s die.
Song was played during freedom marches. He violently disagreed with it he said. Fk him the commo
@@user-vk2wp4ot8h bread and circuses. Don’t you see what’s going on
The 80s were a decade, not a genre.
'The 80s was and always will be the dominant music genre' - nope. It may have been for you, but for a person of say, 70 years old it was the 60's/70's, for a person of 22 it was maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago.
It seems to be whenever you were young and alive and unencumbered by career or mortgages or children etc and everything was an adventure or party - that's when you thought YOUR music was the best, most meaningful, pressed all of your emotional buttons.
Anyone who was 16-25 in the 50's, 60's, 70's etc believed their decade was the best for music, and it was as true for them as it is for you.
