As much as I LOVE Odyssey (it IS my favorite game after all), from a casual consumer standpoint you definitely made the right decision putting 3dw+ and 8dx higher

I think Mario+Rabbids kingdom battle should be higher solely for the fact of how good it is and u can get it most of the time for $10-$15
Honestly I think Mario + Rabbids is super underrated. I hate the Rabbids and don’t really care for strategy games, but this game was so much fun. Honestly, that game is easily in my top 5.

I think I am one of the few people that did get both the Mario and Luigi Mario Kart Live Home Circuit kits and had 2 Switches to play with them. My friends and I got them for our college house and it was a ton of fun transforming our entire home into different tracks. Although it honestly doesn't have a lot of replayability. It was really fun for like 3 times but then it just becomes too much of a hassle to set up and properly enjoy

I know you mentioned it, but Mario Maker 2 has a pretty legit campaign, expectations being in check. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Idk why Mario Maker 2 sorta fell out of favor or something. Game is amazing and still kind of feels like a miracle it even exists.
I love Odyssey but I can't understand the hype about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It gets boring quite fast, especially when you play it alone.
I just got a switch last month and have only ever played Mario Kart 8 with my best friend, and after a couple rounds, we are always ready to switch to a different game. To me, Mario Kart is one of those games that’s fun for about 20 minutes, and then you just move onto something else, so I understand what you mean by this. Also, I just got Mario Odyssey and haven’t started it yet because I’m currently trying to finish up Mario + Rabbids, but I can’t wait to get into it bc I’ve constantly heard people praise this game
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is pretty fun but mainly with others. I enjoyed it when i played online. But now that I have to have a nintendo membership...I haven't been on that game in a long time.

Super Mario Maker 2 is not only my favorite Switch game, but favorite game of all time, there's so much customization, making levels is actually very fun, and playing them is also really fun, there's also endless challenge, Course World, you can play WITH FRIENDS, etc. I love this game so much and it's definitely my #1.

Its the reason I even bought my switch. Ive made hundreds of levels, even if that means deleting many old ones, but its just that great! I just wish for SMM3 or some new content.

I’m waiting for Yoshi’s island to come to the switch. I have so many memories from my childhood with that game. Yoshi’s crafted world isn’t what I mean: I genuinely want a switch version of the exact layout of Yoshi’s island.

ngl, I'd say Super Mario Party is pretty good. I don't think it's the best MP, but I've found it to be highly enjoyable and I love playing it with my family.

@@SwitchStop I feel like the top 3 are completely different games. Only one isn’t a port only one is a normal Mario game with multiplayer and only one is a spin off.
I think Captain Toad Treasure Tracker should have been on this list, as it has ties to Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Odyssey, as well as being a 3d platformer. I also think Luigi's Mansion 3 should be on the list, as Mario is present in the game.

(A disappointing Mario Party game that got overshadowed by the other Mario Party game)
9) Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 (The game is a bit lackluster and a bit boring.)
8) Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
(A decent and nostalgic game but nothing mind-blowing in my opinion.)
7) Super Mario Bros. 35
(I'll include this in my list. It was fun while it lasted.)
6) Mario Party Superstars
(Not a bad game by any means, but I'm not a big fan of the Mario Party series. Although it was fun.)
5) Super Mario 3D All-Stars
(A great collection, but it didn't upgrade much and it didn't include Super Mario Galaxy 2.)
4) Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
(It's great for solo and multiplayer and has a lot of variety.)
3) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
(It's the best Mario Kart, what do I need to say more about this?)
2) Super Mario Maker 2
(I REALLY like making levels, playing other people's levels and playing online.)
1) Super Mario Odyssey
(It's my favorite Mario game, it's my favorite Switch game, and probably my favorite video game of all time. I adore Mario Odyssey.)

You seem like a good guy. I appreciate that you're on the younger side and show sunshine and 64 love. I also appreciate that you give 3dworld its proper props. I can't however for the life of me understand how 3D Allstars which houses 3 of the best games ever made is somehow worse than mario party superstars. That's literally a crazy tier take.

One downside to Odyssey is that it has no real updates but that is hardly a downside because I feel like it has to be a Super Mario Galaxy 2 situation where the developers were so overwhelmed with ideas that it just turned into a sequel but of course that is not confirmed and it has been what 5 years and the only real update is Luigi's Balloon World thingy. Still a fantastic game and I think that you ranked it very well.
I love Origami King and the rabbid games I wish they could get more love. Also, Mario odysseys not number 1?

Believe it or not they added a update for Mario Kart Live Home circuit where you can play with only one Nintendo switch split screen co-op with the rc car Mario and Luigi and another mode where you can play with one rc car and randomly switch between 2-4 players and that’s the only way we can play as Peach, Toad and Yoshi and the main player’s rc car character Mario or Luigi

Mario + rabbids deservers to be higher on this List I do hate the rabbids but they don’t really annoy you in this game and it’s a crime to put this game lower than the Mario sports games I wasn’t really that into strategy games but after I played this game I fell in love with the genre so this game is even good when people who haven’t or don’t like strategy games.

I didn't buy Mario and Sonic in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics because they didn't have the miis in it. I really enjoyed them in the 2016 version.
Ever since the game came out I always wanted super Mario odessey and I also watched gameplays of it and now I fully know how to beat it but I don’t have it on my switch sadly but I always longed for this game for nearly 6 years and maybe one day I’ll buy it

Interesting choices
While I’m not a fan of how Nintendo treated the Mario 3d all stars game it’s hard to argue with the value of it for a new switch owner. For the same price as any of the other games on this list you get 3 FULL 3d mario games in one cartridge, hard to beat that value getting 3 of arguably the best Mario games for the same price as any of the others. You would definitely get the most play time game wise out of 3d all stars! And to me I don’t really consider Mario kart in the same line as the 2d and 3d mario games, might not be how everyone else sees it lol
Hi! I’m a new switch owner and am very Interested in getting the 3D All Stars seeing it has Mario 64 and that was my favorite game growing up.!! I actually just got 3D wrld Bowsers fury but I can’t find 3D All Stars anywhere online for under $100 😫 I was wondering if you can please help me to find it for the same price as the other games?🙏🏽I’m really hoping I’m not late to the part

Mine are super mario maker 2 as best by far, followed by mario party superstars, and third is mario kart 8 deluxe
I would still rank Odyssey as number one, but 3D World Bowsers Fury is better if you want multiplayer

and this is only the non-subscription required games. factor in the subscription required games your options skyrocket. Super Mario Bros 1 through 3 and Dr. Mario on the NES App, Super Mario Kart, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World on the SNES App and Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, the og Paper Mario Mario Kart 64 and as when November 2nd arrives(as of the time of this comment it's not come yet) the og Mario Party and Mario Party 2 on the N64 app.

If someone could only get one game on their switch I would tell them to get smash bros if they mainly want to play with friends and BOTW if they want to play a solo game, also I think out of the switch games that came out on the release of the switch the best one is BOTW ten times out of ten

where are the arcade archives and the mario character spinoffs (captain toad, yoshi, luigi, and dk)? i kind of understand the character spinoffs, but the arcade archive mario bros and vs super mario bros are still mario games

I agree that the sports games and stuff like that deserve to be high on the list, buuuuuut,
I think it's a little unfair to rank Home Circuit with the standard Mario games because it's just not. Now I understand it would be weird to just not include it, but it's really not like other games in any way, if anything it's more like Nintendo labo.
I don't own Mario Party Superstars so I don't know, maybe Super Mario Party just pales in comparison, but It's still loads of fun. The 6 sided die does sort of slow down the pace and I don't know about you but I can personally can get past that. There's tons of maps and modes and little side games and things to do.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a really good game and I think it deserves lower. Not much else.
Super Mario Party only has 4 maps to Party on. If you haven't played any other game in the series then that is way to low. The game is way to focused on other content and other modes and the core Mario Party is bad. Sure the other modes are fun but if play this game with friends (especially if they've never played before) I'd rather play the Mario party mode. Mario Party Superstars does this a lot better and has better minigames, boards (and their functions) and is just a better experience.
@@TomsRetroGames Maybe the maps and main mode aren't as fleshed out as superstars, like I said I don't have it, but the fact that there's only four boards shouldn't be a huge deal especially considering superstars only has five.

I believe that mario+rabbids should be much higher cuz i love the rabbids and its an awesome strategy game
I honestly don't like how they gave Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi sports outfits for Switch sports games (except for Mario and Sonic At The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the Mario Strikers Series as they at least kept their original caps) as I really wish they just stick to their classic overalls or at least have their overalls outfit as their alternative outfit instead of having it unlockable as it is impossible to unlock them in Mario Tennis Aces.

I guess Super Smash Bros. Ultimate doesn't qualify as _just_ a Mario game due to it being a Nintendo crossover. Similarly, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, WarioWare: Get it Together, Yoshi's Crafted World, and Luigi's Mansion 3 doesn't really star Mario himself.
I'd be mad at you for dunking Super Mario Party, as it's my favorite game on Switch, but even I can see where Mario Party Superstars is better from a general point of view. I do like playing Superstars...
I can agree with the placement of the Tokyo Olympics, even though I do like it, and the Mario sports are rather mid-tier, although Golf is my personal favorite.

Wow. I am 29 and I lost touch with Mario after I last had the DS Nintendo with color, and coming back is rough. I can’t find a single game that satisfies my Nintendo desire.

All of these games have these non linear formats and honestly I don’t like it.
I was given the game he ranked number one and I’m sorry I’m bored with it. There are so many training wheels on the new Mario cart games…it’s not half as challenging as the old ones and it feels dissatisfying. I feel, sadly, that I am aging and sounding like an oldie. But I really hope someone can help point me in the right direction here. I miss the old Mario, yoshi, waligi, wario games from my childhood. 😢
You missed Minecraft, Luigis mansion three, Captain toad treasure tracker, donkey Kong country tropical freeze, Yoshi‘s crafted world, WarioWare get it together, and of course super smash Bros ultimate.

Honestly I don’t think he should say the negative state but ppl need to know the negative state to make sure if they want to buy the game or not, is revealing the negative state a yes or a no?
Kingdom battle was fun as heck. But sparks of hope was worse. The story was better but it got wayy too easy for me. Kingdom Battle challenged me more and i enjoyed it more.

Mario Party SuperStars only has 10 characters so I prefer Super Mario Party even though it is a very unpopular opinion. I can not decide which game is better because of the only 10 characters in Mario Party SuperStars, Mario Party SuperStars is like the Top 100 but fixed.
My opinion: You forgot Luigi’s mansion 3 tho is would be 3. U deluxe would be at number 9. Super Mario party and aces/ super rushed would switch places. Mario Kart would be 7 and Kingdom Battle 2. Odyssey would be 1. I don’t count 3d all stars.

I think strikers is unfairly downrated. The gameplay is actually really fun and although the content was light at launch, it's incredibly addictive and replayable. I've spent hours and hours on it. Way better than tennis IMO.
