      Thanks for watching Simon😊👍 this really was a day we will never forget, we were so lucky to have those stunning views🤩🥰🙏. It was mostly the steps on the way down that tired us out as the sun was out the whole way beating down😎🥵.ATB Shell and Pete

    Great video. Really enjoyed it and can't understand why you've only got two comments. Did Snowdon four years ago and just did Scafell Pike last week at 19 stone, so need to lose more weight for the Ben next year. Have booked accommodation from Sept 10th to 17th, so was encouraged that you got good weather mid Sept.
    Well done.

      Hi Peter, thanks so much for watching and for your positive comment, we really appreciate it😊👍. Well done to you too on climbing Snowden and Scafell Pike, both long days, we hope you got the views to make it all worth it! The day we climbed the Ben will stay with us forever, it really is a stunning mountain🤩. Fingers crossed you get a similar day for your attempt next year🤞 have a great weekend, Shell and Pete

      Thanks for taking the time to reply. I plan to lose at least 3-4 more stones in weight and do a lot more walking in preparation for next September. We have a whole week; so hopefully we can pick a good day, but unless it's horrendous, we will go up anyway.
      We picked the best day for Scafell Pike, but we still had two hailstorms on the way down and a lot of rain, but still worth it.

      @@peterculkin811 yes the tourist track has a good well defined path all the way so even in cloud you would be fine navigation wise, although fingers crossed it won't be🤞 it's a fantastic area to spend a week in, so much to do and the scenery is just spectacular, we usually try to get a week up in the highlands ourselves each year. I (Shell) have always struggled with my weight myself and i find hiking really helps👍

      Ah thanks William and Jena. It is certainly nice to look back on some of our younger days hiking😆👍. This was a great climb, Ben nevis is the highest mountain in the UK, so it was a memorable one🥰. Thanks so much for watching, have a wonderful weekend, Shell and Pete😊👍

    I've found this to be the best video regarding the Ben Nevis walk/climb. The so called 'tourist path' is not for a complete novice as some other videos have hinted at in my opinion.
    I walked Ben Nevis last week in 7.5 hours + 30 minutes at the summit. I'm 49, 2 stoneish overweight, medium fitness, occasional walker who has been walking approx. 5 miles every other day in preparation for Ben Nevis and I found the walk tough going as it is relentless especially on the descent. The walking on stones seems never to end and I wish I had invested in hiking poles as many seemed to of have. A great feeling of achievement though and the views(if lucky) are amazing.

      Hi there,
      Thanks so much for this lovely feedback, we are so pleased you found our video helpful and hopefully truthful. We totally agree, the tourist path is still a challenge and a good level of fitness and some experience mountain hiking is required in our opinion. Those stone steps are pretty relentless on the descent!🙈. Nevertheless you are right the views are incredible and we are so glad we did it. Well done to you too for summiting the UKs highest peak😊👍.
      All the best

      @@o.bsoutdoors3871 any plans for
      Scafell Pike?

    • @o.bsoutdoors3871
      @o.bsoutdoors3871  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sah1746 we have both climbed scafell pike a few years ago via the brown tongue and hollow stones route. Although this was before we started our you tube channel and also we didn't get any views as the summit was in cloud, so we would like to climb it again (the only problem being how busy this peak can get). A much better climb, in our opinion anyway, is the pikes neighbor, scafell, only a fraction lower but much quieter and the views are spectacular🤩. The brown tongue route is again regarded as the easiest route up the pike, but does present challenges especially when going through the hollow stones boulder section. We wish you luck on your future mountain hiking adventures😊👊👍
