I enjoyed that; that 100-footer looks terrifying...

Hi Both - firstly I love all of your videos Ive recently got myself a boat and they have been super helpful. Im mostly single handing motoring around Lough Erne. Question- If I don't have a Marian to drop off at the waiting Jetty is it possible to get through the locks single handed ?

Hi Connor, congratulations on your purchase, and we're glad you enjoy the videos. It's not really possible to traverse the locks single handed, but if you tell the lock keeper at the first lock he should be able to arrange for a waterways patroller to meet you at each lock👍

@Driftwood Boating Blog hi i have a shetland 644. Would my boat be ok on the canal water depth wise. She has a keel on my boat. Also I'm planning to bring my boat from loch ree kilinure to vicarstown. Would that be possible

Yep you should have no worries with the depth, but weed on the canal during the summer is often an issue. Spring or autumn are the best times to travel on the canal to avoid the worst of the weed 👍

    Another great video, thank you.
At the end of your video you invited questions ... in true Irish spirit ...
What is twice the half of one and a half?

Ha love it! I'll go with "one and a half". Glad you liked the video.

@@DriftwoodBoatBlog Excellent! Well done! ... go to the top of the class!
PS I just bought you book. Looking forward to the read.
Harry you are a natural with the camera ... your easy laid back style is candy to the ears & eyes. Please give us more history and facts about the locations you and Mar visit. It is all so very interesting.
Mar, I believe you could be an inspiration to today's youth. whether they be feminists, millennial social justice warriors or couch potatoes! Pump up your channel and continue to show that strong women, (like you), have a great place in life!
One more brain teaser ... What can go UP a chimney DOWN but can't come DOWN a chimney UP?

@@MrRupit123 Hi Stephen, Thanks for your comments, and we will try to live up to them. I'll have your book on it's way today. Your brain teaser had us stumped and to be honest we googled it in the end (sorry!) Umbrella? why would anyone put an umbrella up a chimney? Anyway Mar has this one for you: A father and his son are driving in a car when they are involved in a serious crash. The father is killed instantly and the son is seriously injured. The son is rushed to hospital where they decide he needs to be operated on. Then the chief surgeon walks in and sees the boy and says "I can't operate on that boy, he is my son" How can this be? (NB he was never adopted, fostered or anything like that)

@@DriftwoodBoatBlog aha! The chief surgeon is the boy's mother :-)

Hi, you would need to get a Lough key from Waterways Ireland. They can also advise on bridge heights or water draft. Hope you have a great trip 👍
