Lyrics: Moufdi Zakaria (while imprisoned by French colonial forces)
Composer: Mohamed Fawzi.
The song was adopted as the national anthem of Algeria 🇩🇿 in 1962, when the resistant natives defeated the French colonizers and invaders, and gained independence from France.
"Kassaman" or "Qassaman" or قَسَمًا translated as "we pledge", "the oath" or "we swear"
