Just followed your wiring diagram to build a harness for my 2001 TT & various MK4 clusters - it only took about an hour to throw together and test out! Thanks for the insightful video, Ian 🙂
Hi, Great video, just what I was looking for! I'm just about to wire up a MK1 TT cluster in an earlier CE2 fusebox. Is the FIS completely CanBus driven, or is there a possibility of getting some functions to work? Also can the audible bleeping on the cluster be muted at all (I have a full version of VCDS)? Many thanks

Sounds. Like a good project. The grey pin has the 3 signals controlling the screen. When a buttons pressed they short to ground. There are many more signals at the grey pin too for the engine so keep studying the pinout the functions to want working at the cluster.
Hi, congratulations for the video, I would like to ask you if, according to your experience, the golf4 instrument panel can be fitted in the Audi A3 8L with the necessary coding. Thank you
Hello. Interesting question but I don't think it will work. They might have different information layouts that A3 might not be able to use. Some thing to experiment with - I have not tried though.
Did z buy this ports separate or got it from wrecked cars? (What can u usualy find in wrecked car, I thought people would take all the interesting bits (like radio, gateway, other nodules), before u even have a chance to get to the car) I am thinking of just buying a premade harness from china (mine has to have quadlock, obd2 and can gateway port, blue plug would be nice so I get easy acsess to can lines), not sure whats cheaper to buy premade or buy all the connectors separate (and pay for shipping) or buying something premade
hello great vid but do you know how i can remove the key immo on the bench cuz i got it powered upp and everything but i cant get rid off the immo thing i have a skoda fabia 2006 gauge cluster and trying to hook it up on to a pc
So you want to remove the flashing immobilizer light when powered up on the bench? .you can't - it will always be flashing until the system can see all other immobiliser parts from the ecu and the key itself.
Great video. Q: I only have the 2 cables (32pin) on my audi tt MK1 8N. Not the 16pin plug. Do I just stick with the diagram or do I need something additional? also: I have seen another video where they only connect the blue 32pin cable to get it working as "ON". Is this correct? Thanks a lot.
So your screen mustn't be full FIS if you only have two connectors. They might be wired up like a golf. So this wiring should work. The 16 pin plug is the OBD connector required to talk to the cluster while in the bench. If you only wanted to power up on bench then only blue is required.
@@ianpgonzaga I will try that. will pin it as i dont have the plugs yet. will need to visit a junkyard soon:) Thanks so much for your support and great video's Ian. Really appreciate it!
I have got power to the cluster and Kline is hooked up properly but can't connect to cluster when I read with Eeprom programer. My power supply is 1.5 amps is that enough or do I need more?
Hi i made a cable for the mk1 tt cluster from 2002 following youre instruction, it lits up the fis display and some lamps but its not beeping i am able to connect to it via vagcom but i cant run the output tests. and the km and clock is not showing are it supposed to do that? i can read the error codes and read the coding data. do i need to connect the s-contact maybe i ting its ignition on? the cluster i am using is 8n19208080A
@@slobodankostic9571 nice work. If you can connect and see diagnostics then you should be able to do output tests as that's all through K line. What cable are you using ?

Hi. Will be different depending on the car. See the pinout for your car on this page. That should help.

Isn't Tacoma Toyota? I'm not sure what instrument cluster options there are for a Toyota cluster. It'd be cluster dependant... Not engine and ecu

Hello, a nice video, but the wiring diagram for Audi A3 8L does not work with it. I can't read it!

The wiring is at 5:06. 3 wires required from the blue pin and one from the green pin to connect to K Line.

Hi, how do change km to miles in a Volkswagen up 2012 Automatic please
This I do not know how to do lol.
I think it's a software thing but you need better tools and not just a cheap cable set.
which pin is for illumination?
No need to wire this up - they all light up with the 12v/IGN/GND if it's been programmed that way.
Otherwise you test illumination with VCDS.
@@ianpgonzaga thnx for replying, can't I just basically trigger the cluster illumination on bench?
@@bekire2215No - not just illumination itself.
