Zip ties, that is a great recommendation that came to my mind on the 2nd dive I did in my life! On my OWD course, the zip tie of my inflator broke. It happened in the pool, so it wasn’t really a problem, and I continued the lesson with just pushing the tube tightly on the inflator, but if it happens in some depth, a zip tie saves your dive for sure! And it is so small, that there is no excuse to not have them with you on any dive.
Zack I found your channel when looking up scuba brands and after watching more of your videos you have to be one of the funniest and best scuba channels out there. I love your videos like this they’re always so informative and you always make me laugh keep up the awesome work.
I have carried a save a dive kit for most all my 45+ years of diving. It has changed over the years. Being the largest when I was an instructor. Rarely needed for myself. O-rings, tighten a loose hose replace a fin strap. But, has saved a lot of other's dives.
13:48 I got the SeaDog stainless adjustable wrench you suggested in a different short video. Better than the al adjustable wrench you have in this video. The SeaDog adjustable travels with a double ender clipped off stowed in my lower drysuit pocket now. "Sea Dog Stainless Steel Adjustable Wrench and Bottle Opener" Thanks for the tip! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
12:33 lets get honest the Dive Rite XT1/XT4 regs are spot on for price, made in the US, cold water performance even for ice diving and Dive Rite will sell anyone spare parts kits. Hell of a lot more than we can say for failing Apex these days where spare parts are not readily available as they once were. If you have the skill set you can preform your own maintenance on Dive Rite regs. Just need to offer that as a quality option. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
So smart to take a picture of your business card!!! I am a treasure hunter and so hard to return things AND I was in Hawaii all week. Sorry I just found your channel today! Next trip.
I’m trying to lay my hands on the Tarantool 2.0. They’re expensive, but look like they put way more effort into the design. It’ll live in my wetnotes or butt pouch being how thin it also is. Great video.
Where does one find decently thick wetsuit pants? Everything I can find is quite thin and I can’t imagine will help with lift much… thanks for the content.
Yeah, they also stopped making parts for it. Unfortunate. I know there are some folks out there that will out parts kits together for these and service them. My concern is that if they're willing to ignore the immense liability that goes a long with doing that, they might not be the best techs. Just my thoughts on it.
Mk 5 still a great regulator, I have several. All the variations. Still some parts floating around. As long as I can get HP seats I can keep them going.
Good tips man… I suck at thumbnails. I’m also found (disappointingly) is if the thumbnail is negative, you get more views. I’m sorry I had a successful dive and lived lol
Yeah it sucks, I hate doing thumbnails. It always feels like I'm not being truthful, but you kinda have to do it or no one will see your video. I also hate that having a large face in the thumbnail is important for the algo, so every one of these thumbnails has my big dumb face all over it, lol.
@@DiveVibe my god yes… you seem to be much more comfortable with it and being on camera. I’m still working up to that. I would love to discover something that would make our niche more popular and I guarantee you it’s not my face on a thumbnail :)
Don’t be a Christmas tree diver. Only take what you need on a dive. Preventative maintenance is important. If it takes half an hour to gear up, you either have too much gear or need to hurry the f@$k up! 😂
Listen, mate, if you’re staring down a debt bigger than your surface interval, it’s time to weaponise that misery. Start a series called ‘Diving on a Budget: How to Afford the Ocean When You’re Drowning in Debt’. Film yourself patching wetsuits with duct tape and breathing through a garden hose you’ve ‘borrowed’ from the neighbour. Viewers love nothing more than watching someone slowly unravel, especially when it’s in high-definition underwater shots with inspirational music overlaid. Think those crazy Russians diving in Chernobyl, but with less radiation and more existential dread. If the debt’s pulling you down faster than a failed weight check and you're crying into your mask so much you have to clear it every 5 seconds, it’s time to get creative. Start pimping yourself out as a luxury “human BCD” for rich tourists - strap them on, smile for the GoPro, and call it ‘The Full-Service Dive Experience.’ Failing that, go full “lost treasure hunter” and start selling ‘limited-edition artefacts’ you’ve definitely not just pulled out of a local pond. Before you know it, you’ll be debt-free and debating whether your dignity was ever worth the price of a decent dive computer.
Oh yeah. That bonus tip was worth the whole video
Love the sarcastic reference at 6;22.
The tools under water tip was brilliant, especially the mouthpiece, even as a rec diver, you never know what one might need.
Thanks friend!

Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. You just made my day.

loved this video - cannot wait for the save a dive kit episode
I love your sense of humor😂

Ayyyy fellow medic, with knowledge in a topic I'm interested in also? Hell yeah subscribed

You're welcome! Thanks Eric.

That is awesome!
Looking for more!!!!
Im on it!
Too hot for a wet suit chance would be a fine thing 😂 diving in north wales in the uk in 4/6°c waters it’s drysuits all the time
Great video !!
my buddy found a brand new suunto dive computer, one dive on it. no owner info at all, so he kept it. my perdix allows my info on the start up screen.
My petrel 2 does the same thing and I waste that start up screen with "Good morning Zach. All systems nominal." lol
Brah! I Always keep a hair tie on my infiltrator hose! 😆

Well that's sick. I might have to get one! Thanks for watching Caleb!
PANDORA TOOL 3.0 - TITANIUM will not rust.
I put a text document on all of my SD cards titled "Owners Info" - In it, my name, phone number and email address.
What happened to the yellow leader on your Apeks spools?
They're off brand. I wind them myself. amzn.to/3Q5gnfp
I totally keep the Chinese star of fix it all with me in my dive gear

I use 3mm pants I got from amazon. Decent amount of lift. Freediving pants go up to 7mm. My buddy does 5mm top and 7mm bottom in a freediving suit.
FYI, Scubapro yoke to DIN conversion doesn't work on MK5.

@@jeffconley6366 It is. Especially good since it sounds like you service them yourself. Thanks Jeff!

How to erase debt: quit diving 😢

Only take what you need on a dive.
Preventative maintenance is important.
If it takes half an hour to gear up, you either have too much gear or need to hurry the f@$k up! 😂
Lol, well I am talking about technical ccr shore dives with multiple 80s as bailout and a scooter.

You can't erase debt, you can only redistribute it to everyone else.

I don’t think “Hacks” and diving equipment should be in the same sentence..
