Many don’t know this, but Huish is the parent company to all of the following: Atomic, Hollis, oceanic, BARE, Seattle and Suunto
What about damaging the lens? If the lens is on the bottom, wouldn't it get scratched when it hits the rocks?
It has its own protection for it. Like a lil glass before the camera so no impact on the camera itself. I have one i can show you where it is.
@@laizywaizy5776 I just bought the Insta360 X4, so you could drop it to the bottom, bring it back up and see EVERY angle, regardless of how it landed, and not just hoping that it lands and tips into the right direction. I admire DiveVibe's presentation skills in his videos, and like a lot of divers: love new stuff, so I like his material.
0:51 - Dude, we all watch your videos for this EXACT reason to add more gear to our Gear Intensive Hobby
👍😎🤿🇵🇭! More cool stuff to add to more cool stuff!
I just wish ONE of these sidemount BCD manufacturers would offer a model with leg loops instead of a crotch strap. I know, cave divers probably consider leg loops to be a “snag point”. I call BS. If you are diving naked, then yes, the leg loops might be potentially considered a snag point. Otherwise, leg loops are no more a snag point than whatever is covering your body. Someday, someone will produce a sidemount BCD with leg loops. The crotch strap is lame. It’s a major chafe point. I’m supposed to use an inferior strap method because some guys who shove themselves into holes think leg loops MIGHT be a snag hazard?!? Well, leg loops MIGHT POTENTIALLY be a snag hazard to a very small population of people. Meanwhile, the crotch strap IS lame ✅ The crotch strap is a significant chafe point. ✅ /rant off
Would this work for you? www.caveadventurers.com/store/cave-adventurers-scooter-crotch-strap.html It fits on the K2 and xdeep.
How does the NEX regulators compare with the Deep6 signature series? If you have experience with the Deep6 can you please create a video? Thanks
Nail clippers are also good for cutting zip ties and less conspicuous for air travel. For sidemount I also carry a 5/16 nut driver (MUCH quicker than a flathead screwdriver or multitool) to quickly set up my clamps (more secure to use clamps than the cam bands) and with the nut driver i can set it up so quickly, especially helpful on a boat. Also for keeping consistent measurements super quickly on at what height on the cylinder to place my clamps, I have a string pre-measured to hang off the valve and it hangs to the perfect length. So I don’t need to measure. I also carry extra of the following: bolt snaps, extra contact lenses, duct tape, silicone grease, o rings, lithium AA batteries for my shearwater, EZ cut, mouthpiece, ear drops, mask, bungee, multi tool, Allen keys (especially the size for removing yoke inserts on tanks for DIN), zip ties, reef-safe sunblock, extra dsmb and spool, backup light, hair ties, and seasickness acupressure wrist bands. I have different pouches for each category of item- for my body, for my gear, and in the water (which i carry in my butt pouch).
That's a very thorough kit! Thanks for the info!

In Southern California where atomic is headquartered, every dive shop tries to push every new diver to the atomic split fins. The only thing they’re good for is kicking out on the surface during surf as we often need to do long surface swims in choppy conditions during shore dives . Less cramping. But in the water they are useless for frog kicking, which is what you’re supposed to do. And they’re too big for travel.
I bought this light too. It's awesome for the price. Smaller than I thought. Would be great as a helmet mounted light. Compared it against some of my other 3k lumen lights and it's better than most of them.
Been diving mine for about a year. Air & Nitrox. Dig the layout and mods that can be made so I can see everything I want and nothing I don't on a single screen. And, of course, shortly after buying this one, Shearwater came out with the Peregrine TX w/AI. Which worked out perfectly as the point of trying this one was to gift it to my wife once she received her OW cert (which she has! woohoo!) and I would upgrade to something else. Well, my upgrade is going to the be the same dive computer just with AI...because I'm a numbers nerd and like that kind of stuff. Great content, by the way! S/F - RWB
That's a pretty decent idea. I use a sack trolley with a ratchet strap for mine, but I can see myself making one of those to put in my dive bag.
I love your sense of humor😂
Nice video:) one constructive comment is maybe make the video full screen and have you in the PIP in the corner next time. I like your reaction tho. Thanks for the video! Also, why is the reg so squeaky?
Thanks! Usually it's a harmonic thing and you can flip the spring over to fix it.
This suite has been on my radar since I signed up to get my open water cert. During my 2nd check dive I got to dive with a few people doing there dry suit dive. And it just so happens that my dive buddy that I never met before had bought this exact suit. So naturally I had a lot of wisdoms. He mostly could not answer them because.. well hey this was his first dry suit! I was informed by him that he was able to take advantage of a sale ( believe it was around Christmas time last year) and got a super discount. All this being said thank you for the video about this suit! I can not wait to do my dry suit course in a few weeks. Then purchase hopefully this hollis dry suit at a bargain this winter!! I dive with the hollis m1 and I am in love!!
came across this and it is a good video but I think there needs to be a little context here. I have been diving for ten years. Not much by many people's standards but, none the less, I would point out that this is abit biased to the technical diving side of things. I am not a technical diver and connot speak to their point on these issues. As a rec diver I would say you should listen very closely to their concerns that caused them to down rate certain brands. They aren't wrong, but do your care if HOG made a bade side mount BCD if you are a rec diver? there are sveral other examples like this. good info. shouldn't be discounted. just should be put in context. listen closely before just looking at the graphic and choosing. that said, i really agree with their Suunto comments. My sheawater dies and I was given a Suunto by the dive shop and OMG it was so loud, hard to manipulate and so conservative I cannot believe I completed more than 2 dives in a day.
I’ve used an Ogio backpack for years to travel with my sidewinder. The one I have is big enough I can even pack my can lights in it.
He says help and this guy is like what is that?
You're saying that a Russian man was saying help in English?
@@flynxyy Yes. If you are international, out of country, people say help. You can hear him call for help and begin to struggle at 3 min. There are other videos where the host of the video watch is more respectful and actually analyzes this dive in detail.
Look at Yuhsin regs, I believe they are made in the same factory and yuhsin makes these regs, very popular OEM/ODM in Taiwan. Same design first and second too, just a different face plate.
Love the vid. Definitely bought one as the price can't be beat. I recommend buying through the link above because I assume it's an affiliate link and it helps our guy out so he can keep making great content.
Totally just did an impulse buy after watching this video! $36 on their website right now. Fingers crossed!
Took 10 days to get it. Super bright, but flooded on the first dive. I will say, it still worked with the light completely flooded though! Guess it was too good to be true.
I'm really impressed! Delivered Friday, dove it Saturday. The light auto dims with a low battery. I didn't find it too hard to lock and unlock using dry gloves. Just use the pinch and twist.
Thought itd be silence 😅😅😅
4:40 One time i ran into this glitch where i would clip through the floor in my Prawn and this was the only way to solve it without losing the save. You just keep falling and jump out to repair the Prawn halfway.
I was comparing what I've spent in gear vs my brother and omg. I've spent a TOTAL of around £1300 only, including bcd, drysuit, regs(apeks) and two tanks, fins mask and hood included, and wing for twinset+ another two 2x12L for the twins, another set of regs(Scubapro), jet fins + free weights. (Price doesn't include servicing, and the gear is not old or rusted). My brother has spent thousands in basically the same but buying first hand, but only has two tanks for side-mount which he uses for normal dives as well. He was pissed😂. I'm one of those who's always trying to find bargains, and trust me, there are many out there, just make sure you know what to buy and ask people who know better than you if it's worth it. My instructor and ny brother still can't believe how much money I've saved (and keep saving). Good luck everyone, it can be done!
Great review! What size battery does the light use? 18650?
Thanks Dan! It uses a 21700.
I ordered mine before I saw this video. I have been using the SD05 for a while, and wanted a spare, so i ordered the 06. Iused mine for the first time tonight in cold water with drygloves. The lock is a little hard to turn, there is no real way to get a good grip on it, and I found it required 2 hands to unlock, but not all that hard to do. It's not enough of an issue to stop me from making this my new primary light. It's brighter and with a tighter spot than the SD05 has.
@@OysterScuba Thanks for the input!
I use their 3-led version - absolute beast of a light.
Another well done vid! Worth a spare backup at that price. Will get on your patreon soon, want to turn my MK6 to a mechanical rebreather, now I am on a 7.
That's a fun project! Thanks Harry!

Sorry for the question but first I love the videos but why are your videos always dark?
Yes those are UDTs
Dude, that suit is dope!!
As I am living in Austria and mostly diving there almost all of my dives are altitude dives. There are almost no lakes below 1000ft (300m) here. Most of my dives are happening around 2000ft above sea level which is not that bad but my highest altitude dive so far was at 7300ft (2200m) and 7 minutes in the dive descending to 21m i've got 14 minutes of NDL left. The difference is crazy. Need to dive this lake again with my Shearwater (it measures the ambient pressure before the dive and calculates accordingly) and check it out there. The last time was with an Suunto set to Altitude 2 because that was all you could do.
Why didnt you use your ccr
I think it’s cases like yuri lipski or John jones (who died after being stuck upside down in a cave for 29 hours) that keep me from doing anything like this. I’m terrified of water enough as it is to keep me pretty far from even the surface of a giant hole like this but things like what happened here have made me realize how much funner it is to watch experienced, non-afraid people do it than to do it myself
Question, Is new Oceanic junk compared to the older stuff say 2002-2004 product line? My dads health at 70 has ended his diving career and he has passed on all his gear to me I know I will need to see if all the gear can be serviced and brought up to snuff. Is Oceanic just junk all around?? Specific to their Regulators is my concern
I have a Suunto Zoop and it has the features as the Peregrine and it was $250. I don't see any reason to get a Peregrine. If I get into deco diving or light tec diving I'll Probably just go with the Perdix or Teric
We need a new tier list for 2024
Wondering. Is there a way to shoot underwater in a lake 24/7? Have a live feed to a blog site. My brother has a home on a lake and I thought it would be great to have a live feed under the dock for example. Perhaps a wide angle shot. Would a go pro be able to do this? How about lights? I also have a Eyoyo Camera. I have only shot things at a down angle though. I need something that can do a live feed 24 hours a day. The infrared lights on the Eyoyo looks great at night.
At 6:39 you talk about custom hoses. Do you have to reach out to them directly to get custom hoses? You should have broken the video into chapters, easier to refer back to on these reviews. Again: I like your videos, their formatting, ambience, etc.!
Im sure eventually they will have a way to order custom hoses online, but for now just shoot them an email. TH-cam will auto generate those chapters eventually.
What are your thoughts on the Zeagle F8 regulators.
I was wondering that very thing. Also, an opinion on Zeagle BCs.
Great tip!!
Did I miss it? Diaphragm or Piston 1st. stage?
Hi Craig! Diaphragm
I want to see how they work up here in Canada during the winter. Scuba pros are the way to go up here. I wanna see the ability when frozen. Wanna send them for testing? Lmao.
"Can you buy them in Europe?" - I mean you can barely even buy them in the US.
You might want to consider setting your microphone to mono. Every time you move it from the right in front of your mouth it pans audio to the left or right channel depending on where you're holding it. This feels really weird when you're wearing headphones.
Yup, will do next time. First time using this microphone.
