I was out of college and had been out for almost 10 years when Santana came out, but I still feel such a connection to her like her coming out to her grandmother and being rejected was just like my experience with my mom. I have always related to Santana the most out of any character on Glee. Moreso than Kurt even.

When Quinn was going through her rebel phase & when she wanted to ruined the competition for everyone. Shes the one that called out Quinn for acting like she needs a man & i feel like she really needed to hear that. She helped Rachel multiple times. Maybe because she wasn't a "profesional singer" I mean that she only have 1 solo that btw its truly awesome so that's maybe why she doesn't have one but I also think that she deserved 1,000 emmys or a grammy and probably if you're reading this you probably think I'm crazy but I think that she deserves the world she is just more talented than every famous singer or actress I've ever know. Naya was truly the only real triple-threat on Glee. She could sing, she could act, she could dance and did all 3 phenomenally. Even when she sang, you could feel the emotions and see the passion on her face-she was a top notch performer. Lea was truly intimidated by her in the show and in real life. RIP Naya 🕊🖤

They did however say that when Santana learned Rachel needed an understudy she takes it upon herself to audition. Perhaps they could've worded the part about going after Rachel's part, but I think it was technically referring to the understudy, just worded wrong.
Technically she does. When Rachel extends a peace offering of 10 shows, Santana says no, and that she wants all of them and won't be content until Rachel quits.

I feel the exact same. Smooth Criminal and Adele Mash up should have been near the top, not just honorable mention. No one has even mentioned the Shake It Out quartet either.

Santana was my favourite character by the end, mostly because of how Sassy she was, and her love for Brittany. It's hard to believe that the woman who brought her to life so vibrantly is now gone, but not forgotten. 😭💔 Rest in peace, Naya, you'll be greatly missed! 😢💕

Santana was the best, most well rounded character and Naya being the incredible performer she was, took her to a whole different level. Then they pair her with Brittany who is the funniest of the show and give them a compellin, beautiful arch... they're the best of the show
Yeah, Kurt's arc was amazing for the first two seasons and Blaine too...but by the end, they suffered from the same writing problems the rest of the show had of some really odd decisions and one offs. Blaine in particular had this kind of turn around that I disliked, despite Darren Criss being my favorite on Glee. Like, he was this confident, self-assured out-and-proud role model for Kurt...and then they realized Kurt was graduating and basically reversed that dynamic and things got weird. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed that Kurt became more confident. But the reversal in their relationship kind of ruined the dynamic. Santana & Brittany were so consistently portrayed that when you consider every season, they stood out much more.
Santana was the most real character, I loved her! I found her intimidating at times but honestly she kept it real and I loved how all the ladies came to her defence when she came out. I even found her silver tongue more savage than Sue’s! She had a good heart and cared very deeply about everyone, even Racheal.
Number 8: Naya Rivera said in an interview the she hated that scene, considering it her worst scene in the show or something like that. Rest in peace Naya
She and Chris both said that they didn't appreciate how the insults were personal and had to do with Chris's appearance rather than the actual personality characteristics of Kurt.
I never got why glee always shadowed the best characters and put the spotlight on the worst. I'm glad she gradually started to become a spotlight character as the seasons passed by
Because Ryan Murphy personally wrote Rachel for Lea Michele and they are very close. So basically, what Lea said was what happened, if she hated someone, they were tortured or axed. In the end we never got a happy ending for Santana (apart from her marrying Brit). We never know where her career went or how her song with Mercedes did.
Eh, I'd be a liar if I said Rachel Berry wasn't my favorite character on the show, even with all of the recent reveals. But certainly Rachel, Santana & Kurt were such great characters because they were such consistent characters. So many of the other characters got treated so poorly. Mercedes was always relegated to supporting roles in other story arcs, and I personally dislike the way everyone portrayed Finn as a "good guy" - I think he was actually a terrible person (clearly the character, not the actor). He consistently makes the wrong choices when his character is put to the test. The way he treats Kurt, both Quinn & Rachel repeatedly, all of that. Unacceptable to portray the biggest bully on the show as "the nicest guy".
Tbh I feel this way so strongly about Blaine. I freaking love Darren Criss, but Blaine as a character is more interesting as supporting than main. All of his arcs are comical and I feel like he has little to no character development over the seasons despite hogging so much screentime. They shouldve given more spotlight to Santana, Mercedes, Quinn, and Brittany cos theyre wayyyy more interesting than Blaine imo
The moment the world found out that Santana Lopez outdid Rachel Berry and was second only to Mercedes as the best singer. I was stunned. She became my idol that night.

After learning about how the Santana rant from Jagged Little Tappestry really affected Chris Colfer in real life, and that Naya hated it because of that, it feels weird to me to add it onto this list. I think standing up for Kurt and Blaine should take the spot of the rant instead, because that's just a better scene in my opinion and no one was actually hurt while filming that. Also, I think Santana coming out to her Abuela should be MUCH higher, like second if not the top pick. After Naya's passing, there was an out pour of love and appreciation for that scene from bi or lesbian girls, especially latina girls, who had been struggling to come out and had never seen someone like them on such a big TV show before, and how that scene helped so many people. The fact that it's number six just feels criminal to me.

Dimitri Chéneau It is an amazing scene and Kurt definitely deserved to have Santana chew him out. Still, the things she said were not just attacking Kurt. If some of the content has been different than that scene would be brilliant but unfortunately a lot of the insults were aimed at Chris. A scene Naya hated that attacked one of her friends should not be in a video honoring her.
To me, this just shows what a big heart Naya had; that she felt so guilty about filming this scene that she apologised to Chris profusely and never truly forgave herself for it. She adored Chris and admired him so much and I think that deserves to be said. She was a sweetheart because she cared for others unconditionally.

Santana was my favourite character by the end, mostly because of how Sassy she was, and her love for Brittany. It's hard to believe that the woman who brought her to life so vibrantly is now gone, but not forgotten. 😭💔 Rest in peace, Naya, you'll be greatly missed! 😢💕

Santana was the best, most well rounded character and Naya being the incredible performer she was, took her to a whole different level. Then they pair her with Brittany who is the funniest of the show and give them a compellin, beautiful arch... they're the best of the show
Yeah, Kurt's arc was amazing for the first two seasons and Blaine too...but by the end, they suffered from the same writing problems the rest of the show had of some really odd decisions and one offs. Blaine in particular had this kind of turn around that I disliked, despite Darren Criss being my favorite on Glee. Like, he was this confident, self-assured out-and-proud role model for Kurt...and then they realized Kurt was graduating and basically reversed that dynamic and things got weird. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed that Kurt became more confident. But the reversal in their relationship kind of ruined the dynamic. Santana & Brittany were so consistently portrayed that when you consider every season, they stood out much more.

Santana was the most real character, I loved her! I found her intimidating at times but honestly she kept it real and I loved how all the ladies came to her defence when she came out. I even found her silver tongue more savage than Sue’s! She had a good heart and cared very deeply about everyone, even Racheal.
Number 8: Naya Rivera said in an interview the she hated that scene, considering it her worst scene in the show or something like that.

She and Chris both said that they didn't appreciate how the insults were personal and had to do with Chris's appearance rather than the actual personality characteristics of Kurt.
ANYTIME Santana and Mercedes sing together it's gorgeous. Their voices compliment each other so much.
I never got why glee always shadowed the best characters and put the spotlight on the worst. I'm glad she gradually started to become a spotlight character as the seasons passed by

Because Ryan Murphy personally wrote Rachel for Lea Michele and they are very close. So basically, what Lea said was what happened, if she hated someone, they were tortured or axed.
In the end we never got a happy ending for Santana (apart from her marrying Brit). We never know where her career went or how her song with Mercedes did.
Eh, I'd be a liar if I said Rachel Berry wasn't my favorite character on the show, even with all of the recent reveals. But certainly Rachel, Santana & Kurt were such great characters because they were such consistent characters. So many of the other characters got treated so poorly. Mercedes was always relegated to supporting roles in other story arcs, and I personally dislike the way everyone portrayed Finn as a "good guy" - I think he was actually a terrible person (clearly the character, not the actor). He consistently makes the wrong choices when his character is put to the test. The way he treats Kurt, both Quinn & Rachel repeatedly, all of that. Unacceptable to portray the biggest bully on the show as "the nicest guy".
Tbh I feel this way so strongly about Blaine. I freaking love Darren Criss, but Blaine as a character is more interesting as supporting than main. All of his arcs are comical and I feel like he has little to no character development over the seasons despite hogging so much screentime. They shouldve given more spotlight to Santana, Mercedes, Quinn, and Brittany cos theyre wayyyy more interesting than Blaine imo

Glee was Santana’s show. She was the better acted and performed character. She was the more interesting and sympathetic character and Naya gave her a depth no one else ever could have. Losing Naya has been such a loss. She deserved all the top ten countdowns and so much more.

After learning about how the Santana rant from Jagged Little Tappestry really affected Chris Colfer in real life, and that Naya hated it because of that, it feels weird to me to add it onto this list. I think standing up for Kurt and Blaine should take the spot of the rant instead, because that's just a better scene in my opinion and no one was actually hurt while filming that. Also, I think Santana coming out to her Abuela should be MUCH higher, like second if not the top pick. After Naya's passing, there was an out pour of love and appreciation for that scene from bi or lesbian girls, especially latina girls, who had been struggling to come out and had never seen someone like them on such a big TV show before, and how that scene helped so many people. The fact that it's number six just feels criminal to me.

Dimitri Chéneau It is an amazing scene and Kurt definitely deserved to have Santana chew him out. Still, the things she said were not just attacking Kurt. If some of the content has been different than that scene would be brilliant but unfortunately a lot of the insults were aimed at Chris. A scene Naya hated that attacked one of her friends should not be in a video honoring her.
To me, this just shows what a big heart Naya had; that she felt so guilty about filming this scene that she apologised to Chris profusely and never truly forgave herself for it. She adored Chris and admired him so much and I think that deserves to be said. She was a sweetheart because she cared for others unconditionally.
