I can admit I’m totally obsessed with your videos. My boys were even teasing me about it the other day😆. You are beyond fabulous, and I have totally benefited from your talents! Thank you for making the time to put together these videos!!!!!!!
You’ve just made my evening, thank you for your lovely kind comments. I witnessed a friend being distraught today from one mean person on line and that persons comments have pushed her back into a very deep black hole. So thank you, I’m incredibly lucky with the community of followers I have and feel very grateful to receive such nice comments, thank you!
I love how natural you are, letting us see you laughing about 'the accidents'. This was another great informative guide.
Thank you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's my turn to say thank you. Turned 40 and with 2 young kids, I've just had to get rid of lots of stuff from the last years that doesn't fit anymore. Felt totally lost (hard to make quick decisions when time poor for shopping) until I found this channel. Now I finally have ideas. Melissa, you're a real friend to women!!!
That’s a lovely thing to say, thank you 😘
I'm also a mom and I agree!
Just a quick comment to say that I had to use my husbands case for my toiletries but come on, I'm a stylist, not a magician!!!
😂😂😂
Well I didn't want to say but I suspected as much 😂
I usually put my haircare in my husband’s bag. 😂😂
Me too! 😁
😂
such great outfits ! Great to see lovely pieces and gorgeous shoes. I too have a champagne strappy pair I wear with everything. I really enjoy wearing dresses on holiday for meals and out and about. Wonderful inspiration.
Thank you! Xx
Thank you for suggesting the fake tan - stay safe in the strong summer sun, ladies! ❤
Always!
Always me too
18 months ago I was left with a life changing disability which meant I could no longer wear the clothes I had always worn. For 8 months I didn't leave the house and felt very low. Thank goodness I found you!! Alongside medical treatment, slowly I have learnt with your help, that I can adapt what I wear and try and look stylish once more. I am growing in confidence and will once more venture out on short trips. We have booked our first trip abroad in a long time so this video has been a life saver (not sure how I'll do costumes though..that's another challenge). Thank you, thank you, thank you Melissa from the bottom of my heart. One quick question, how would you change this wardrobe if you were on holiday for two weeks??
🤗
Oh my goodness, it sounds like you’ve had a tough time but I’m glad to hear that things are slowly improving and it’s wonderful to think that we may have helped you. It’s comments like yours that encourage me to continue to do this, even though I don’t really have the time to!!!! Enjoy your trip, I’m sure you’ll look fabulous! To answer your question, the only thing I’d do differently for 2 weeks is to take some hand washing tablets with me so I can wash and repeat the outfits!!! X
My new fav MM credo - must put this on the MM merch t-shirt ‘you don’t want those puppies poppin’ out when you’re on the back of a banana boat with your kids!’ Words to live by!! 😂. So true, MM. safety first! Cuteness, second!! Love your travel prep vids from over the years. Always learning on this channel. Many thanks
I have a tendency to speak before I think but never a truer word spoken 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard at that!😂😂
Absolutely love your videos Melissa. Amazing stylist and natural and down to earth with it. Bloody brilliant x
Thank you so much!!
Thank you Melissa for all your wonderful videos! I discovered your channel about a year ago, feeling very 'meh' as I approach 40 and had no idea what my style was any more after having kids! Thanks to you, I have totally revamped my style, I am much more considered in my purchases, and I have learned so much from your videos. I can't thank you enough! When I get dressed now, my husband even tells me I've 'done a Melissa' as he can recognise your styling tips! I was on a sun holiday a couple of weeks ago, and found one of your packing videos from last year to follow. It helped me enormously and I was so happy and confident with the outfits I took. PS - I have bought the Zara gladiator sandals this morning! Can't wait 'til they arrive 🙂
Love hearing all of that, thank you 🙏
Absolutely love your videos, Melissa. You are so engaging and friendly but also so professional. Having watched for 6 weeks now, I can honestly say you have changed my life! Going on hols soon as very appropriate for me today!
Thank you so much, that’s so nice of you to say!
The selection of dresses are right up my street, gorgeous and so flatterning, thank you for this super useful upload 🎉😊
You’re welcome 😊
Hi Melissa, love your ideas. We don't go on beach holidays, I wondered if you would consider doing a packing for a UK weekend break video? Places like Bath, Canterbury etc. Or northern European cities in the shoulder seasons?
Absolutely!! I’ll add it to the suggestion list. Thank
A Sunday afternoon and a Melissa video!! Yay! Thank you. Ok, ok I gave in to the white flutter sleeved bathing suit. Smile. Have a great holiday, Melissa!
I absolutely loved every item in this video!! Also green is my favorite color so that helped a lot. You looked stunning in every outfit. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
Thank you so much!!
Ha ha bottom accidents!!!! Love it. My holiday this year involves trundling around Germany on trains so no beach wear needed - I shall be aiming for comfortable coordination. 😊
I'm really loving your channel, I have just discovered it recently. You have given me lots of great ideas and inspired me to try things I wouldn't have thought of. After watching this one I went to H&M and bought a pile of things. I never wear shirts - I don't like them, but after watching this I just thought that matching short and shirt was a fantastic idea and I bought a matching linen short and shirt from H&M. I also tried on shirts over jeans and a vest or t-shirt and it looked so good, really making my clothes look modern. I have never bought matching clothes before, but I also love your tip to have two things in the same colour in your outfit, and I tried on some outfits with matching tops and bottoms which I would never have done before. Thank you!
Sounds like you’ve really taken our advice on board - well done, we hope it makes you feel wonderful!
Your blouse is gorgeous!
Love the necklace layering and of course the outfits.I tend to take short city breaks. How about what to take for 4 nights in Edinburgh/Paris/Amsterdam/Vienna - a holiday with lots of walking but perhaps theatre and smart dinners in the mix. What season though? I like May or September, so perhaps transtional dressing required (which I'm not that competent at) maybe a video early September for this kind of trip? I'd be grateful.
I’ll add it to the suggestions list x
You're the best. Simply the best!
Wow, thanks!
Love your videos.
Few times looked in my wardrobe and thought I've nothing to wear. Picked up lots of useful tips.
Colours I've always stayed away from is white, creams and brown. I think I need to add them to my wardrobe as base colours.
So glad!
I like Keira’s style! She looks super comfy but ‘cool’ (fun cool not temperature haha). More from Keira please 😄
Will do!
When I traveled to Spain & Portugal for 9 days I planned every outfit and took photos. My suitcase weighed only 22lbs….the lightest it’s ever been! I will always plan my outfits.
You make me laugh so much Melissa. Thank you. I love all your green outfits. In fact all the outfits are gorgeous. 😀🌺🌺
Oh thank you! 😘
Oh thanks Melissa, just condensed my holiday clothes today. Great ideas.x
You are so welcome!
What a great fun video Melissa 🙌 it sure puts me in the holiday mode ☺️ great piece and you look great in all of them and you definitely look radiant and the fake tan looks very natural on you ☺️ happy holiday 🥰
Thanks so much! 😊
That’s a lot of outfits for seven days. Loved every one of them.😊Has given me lots of ideas for our next trip. 🎉
love this channel
Yes!! I need this for an upcoming 7 day holiday! Perfect timing! Thank you MM!!
I love watching your videos. This one was especially helpful as I have a beach trip coming up in a month. Thanks again for all your content! Greetings from USA.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for another fabulous video! Staying out of the sun is a big deal! I have vitiligo. I started losing the melatonin in my skin in my 30s, so I avoided the sun, because I would burn easily on those areas of my body, but also because the areas that did tan would get much darker and emphasize the problem. Now I'm 60. I lost almost all of my melatonin and I just appear very fair, which is my natural skin color anyway. All this is to say, that at 60 my skin looks great! No dark or age spots. I think it's do to my avoidance of the sun. It was a pain at times, but at least now I'm enjoying, IMO, a more youthful appearance.
I’m glad everything has worked out for the best with your skin. X
So look forward to Sundays for your videos, they are so helpful. Thank you 😊
Glad you like them!
Loved this video Melissa - and I went out and bought the Mango bag and some coordinated sets from Zara and they r so comfortable! Thanks for the inspiration 😊
So glad!
One thing I always consider when going abroad is what type of heels will be appropriate. I’ve been in countries which have cobblestones or a boardwalk with gaps, and struggled with a narrow heel in the evening. I usually take wider, block heels or smart wedges now to be safe.
Very good point!
Beautifully put together as always and such good sound advice thank you Melissa😊
Glad it was helpful!
Not planning a summer holiday but really enjoyed the video anyway.🤗👍
I think this video was brilliant Melissa. I loved all your outfits and they looked so lovely on you. Thank you 😊
Oh thank you!
Thank you so much for these videos. It’s great advice which I feel like I am actually putting into practice when shopping 😊
I'm so glad!
Beautiful selection! Makes me want to go on holidays already 😊
When I go on a vacation, I go someplace warm I always pack dresses. They’re the easiest to pack and they look nice for any occasion.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful recent holiday/vacation. I wish I had as many olive green items as you have kelly green! (In time 😊) That 2-piece blue outfit is adorable on you!! (not appropriate for me, but you rock it!!) You'll be pleased to know that as I browse clothes online, that I keep your tips in mind. Great video as always.
That’s great to hear x
Fabulous as always, looking forward to next week 👏👏
Can we have a video of which clothes you found you wore the most and which were too warm?
I wore everything but only needed the cardigan on the plane and not at my destination (oh, and I only wore heels the once but I’m still glad I had them with me as the sandals wouldn’t have been right for the venue). X
Perfect timing as I am packing for my holiday ❤
Happy holidays!
i think this was made for me, i love every single peice.
Oh good! glad you liked it x
This was one of my favourite videos, I found it very helpful and so many lovely outfits too. Thank you!
So glad!
You look gorgeous in everything you've picked out, Melissa! Love all the colors and outfits on you! I always struggle with picking out the best dresses for myself, being very petite and straight (not much curves). I will have to look through your past videos for more inspiration and outfits that match both my style and body.
I love the look of jumpsuits however the biggest caveat for me is using the public restroom when wearing them. I simply hate it when my clothes touch the floor, not to mention fumbling with my clothes in the tiny restroom when inside the plane, ugh no thanks.
Just buy a top and pant in the same colour way and you’ll look like you’re wearing a jumpsuit but without the issues you describe. X
When traveling, I usually wear a Scottevest jacket or similar vest. It holds everything that I need immediately or that doesn’t fit in my suitcase. I sometimes travel with only an underseat personal item.
Funny thing! I am actually coming to London and then Ireland this summer. I anticipate needing outfits that look good with sneakers. Would love to see a video featuring sneakers and sight seeing outfits.
You could have put some plain white trainers with any of those outfits. X
Love you, I am 34 and I am soo over 'Insta perfect women'. Love your real approach to fashion.
Thank you and me too - bring on the lumps, bumps and very normal women's bodies - I'd much rather see that!
Great video i must try this for my holiday in 2 weeks time! I do love to take dresses, find them so easy. Thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊
😊 Delighted to hear your on LTK 💕
🤗
This video is perfectly timed. I need to pack for a week to Greece.❤🙏😇
Hope you have a fantastic time! Xx
Always look forward to Sundays love watching your videos. The holiday capsule wardrobe is lovely and you make styling look so effortless. My favourite dresses are the green and white one and love the green top and trousers 🥰
Oh thank you! 🙏
Great video. I just packed for and stayed for 8/9 days in the American Ozarks (near Branson MO) and took almost exactly the right number of clothes, didn't wear the white jeans, the white bodysuit, and the jean jacket, wait, also didn't wear the swimsuits as weather didn't permit. I love a good solid packing plan!
We drove so everything stayed on hangers! 15 hours is really too far to drive, we did stay overnight each way. 😊
I’ve driven from Los Angeles to Bellingham, Washington a number of times. That’s about 1100 to 1200 miles. As a 74 year old, I’ve found it is much, much easier on my body to leave at about 3:30 AM and drive straight through in one day than it is to split up the day so I’m driving for many hour 2 days in a row.
@@kathygann7632 this was right at 950 miles. I'm afraid I'd fall asleep at the wheel doing it all at once. 😎🤷♂️👀
Good stuff!
Thank you for another fab video. I always enjoy seeing what you pack for a holiday. Even though I don’t always go abroad, the process can be applied anywhere. Although the great British weather can make it more interesting. You mentioned that some people asked how you keep your white clothes stain free, I have Nancy Birtwhistle’s books and she has a lot of excellent ways of removing stains, which I have found work. She also has a great travel wash you can make yourself as a dry powder which you can add water to at your destination if you do have an “accident”. Hope that helps.
Ohhhhh, that does help, I’ll look her up. Thanks so much for sharing! X
She is on Instagram too. I find her cleaning videos slightly addictive but they work.
Looking forward to the postpartum styling!
Who hoo been waiting for this 🎉
As always, a really good video
Thanks again! xx
Love you and your personality sooo much Melissa. You are such a gem!!!
You never ever have to show your back (it's YOUR decision!), but I hope you know that your figure is perfection 👌!
Thanks for another great video!
😘 Sabine
Thank you 😘
I'm learning so much from your fabulous videos Melissa - thankyou so much!
I'm so glad!
Another “brilliant” video! Enjoy your trip, Melissa! ❤ from Iowa
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you!!! You have the absolute best videos.
Glad you like them!
❤ Beautiful outfits!
Fabulous video Melissa, very helpful, thank you.😊
Just found this channel! Absolutely fantastic- thank you!
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you for joining us x
Such a good taste for all the outfits thank you so much for the tips, from RJ, Brazil 😊
I enjoyed this video. Great styling ideas. I look forward to next week video, i am also 3 months PP and it is a nightmare to style my new body in anything but leggings.
It’s filmed and will be up on Sunday night at 5pm GMT time (if I can find the time to edit it that is!!!)
Hi Melissa, would it be possible sometime to do a video on different styles of hats! The best styles for different face/body shapes long/short hair and outfit. Whether I wear a neutral baseball cap or bucket style they never seem to look quite right. I am not sure whether it is because I am petite with short hair that it looks less flattering or just the wrong style/overall look! Thank you very much.
Probably not in all honesty as i would need many different models in the studio all at the same time to show you the comparisons and given that I live in the middle of nowhere and struggle to get models anyway, it probably just wouldn't happen! Sorry...We can obviously give you a 1:1 session where we can work this out for you personally. If you visit www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk you'll see all of the details. x
@@mmpersonalstyling Thank you x
I would love a special video on socks. Which style, which color goes with which shoes. Especially light colored shoes. I struggle with that quite a bit.
I rarely wear socks I’m afraid, unless inside a boot and then I don’t care what they look like!
Hi Melissa, love your channel, just found you!! I’ve binged for 3 days soaking in everything I can to help me dress better for my pear short frame body. I’ve learned so much!!!
I live in Hot Arizona where it’s get to be 110-118 for 3 months out of the year. I wear boxer shorts and light weight T-shirts all summer, I’m tired of looking frumpy 😢
Our winter is not cold, rarely wear a sweater or coat.
I’m very conscience about my shelf lower abdomen and I’m trying to figure out how to dress without layers.
And I’m not a “dress” kind of girl
I’m on a tight budget but I have purchased some clothes on Amazon the other day in hopes I can put together some outfits where I don’t feel frumpy
Can you do more hot hot 🥵 weather casual outfits without layering. I do wear a lot of shorts I have okay legs not skinny and I like wearing shorts
I’m afraid I can’t do hot weather videos when it’s our winter as we simply don’t have the summer clothes in our shops. You’re better to just look at our summer videos. Sorry!
Really enjoyed this xx
Thank you ! Great video x
You are so welcome!
Hi Melissa, I absolutely love the Me & Em dresses (sleeves, waist, flow) but I am just above the size range and (14 U.S.) and oftentimes are sold out. If you have another source for similar dresses, please share! Thank you!
Try Boden, they are more inclusive on their sizing. X
You've got that super well organised 😀, great tips there. I've never managed to pack just a carry on, my toiletries are the issue. Maybe I'll have a fighting chance when the liquids rule is changed!! Thanks as always x
A friend of mine always orders her toiletries/suncream etc to collect from Boots at the airport. This means she can carry them on regardless of volume.
@gailsykes2691 I've thought about doing that in the past but they don't do all the skincare and body products I use/need for my very fussy skin! 😔🙂 Hopefully the technology will be everywhere soon so that we're not restricted to a tiny sandwich bag of tester size toiletries!
@JoR00ke Good point about availability of certain items, i hadn't thought of that. I have heard they're doing away with the 100ml rule but they seem to be taking their time - as usual. It always puzzled me that you could take a litre of liquids as long as the bottles only held 100ml - but you can't fit 10 bottles in the bags 🤔🤦♀️.
@@gailsykes2691 ha ha yes so true, if they let us use any size bag for them it would be a help. Fingers crossed we can all have an easier bag packing experience soon 🙏 x
Great idea!!
Hi Mellissa
Thank you for replying to my question. You have a lovely personality that comes across in all your videos. The one thing I wanted to know was what do you cleanse your face with?
I don’t! I use whatever shower gel is in the shower - and it’s often my husband’s full hair and body wash! I use cerave moisturiser in the morning and then I use the current body radio frequency and red light treatments and that’s it. The lighting in my studio is good so I promise you my skin doesn’t actually look as smooth as it does on my videos!
Fabulous ideas for making a great holiday wardrobe Thankyou !
Just one thing that didn’t come up in the moonshot - where is your navy blue jumpsuit from that you show for wearing in the flight please ? ❤
It’s from Reiss but about 4 years ago so we just had to link some similar pieces for you instead.
Hi Melissa, great video as always. Just a couple of observations as i travel a lot. I find jumpsuits difficult for travelling as i never want the top part to fall to the ground by accident in either the plane or airport toilets as i couldn't bear to have to then wear it on my top half!! Also, i never travel in white since the flight attendant dropped lasagne on my leg accidentally on one flight😅😅
That’s so funny, I travel in white and jumpsuits all of the time! Just shows we’re all different and that’s fine. As for the jumpsuit falling on the floor, I just hold it up so it doesn’t do that. If you like the look but the other aspects put you off then just wear a top and bottom in the same colour and you’ll get the same look. X
@mmpersonalstyling yes, I love that tip about separates, Melissa. I got the green trousers and top from H&M that you also had in a previous video as thought they looked just like a jumpsuit ❤
Great video , learning a lot 👍
Such a great video; thank you for sharing it with us. I would have never thought about pairing a white bathing suit with the shorts, but I really appreciated the dual purpose of using the bathing suit as a top as well as of course as a bathing suit. I can see how having dual purpose items like that really save on space when packing for a vacation!
Quick question: would the high-waisted H&M shorts with the best look okay on a petite woman who is short waisted? I generally avoid belting anything because of the rectangle shape plus the short waisted torso. What do you think?
Yes but you'll need to pull out the vest to rebalance you're shorter torso and make it appear longer. x
@@mmpersonalstyling thank you, Melissa!
Question?- What bra do you wear with your spagetti straps? I am a 36DD and I don't have a strapless.
A strapless one - you can them so they’re multi purpose so you can wear the straps the majority of the time x
Am I right in thinking the outfits only get worn once on holiday? I lost track of the days😂 If I'm not too fussed re-wearing outfits, can I cut down the number of items if I need to pack in a smaller case?
Absolutely you can - I just like having a new option each night!
If you wanted to save space, could you not just use the same cover up for every day and also, the same green linen short set for going out? Also, how many purses are you bringing? Do you not use the small bag that was in your tote for going out? Trying to consolidate down to a carry on
Yes you could do all of your suggestions, I just didn’t need to save space as it all fitted in my carry on!
Purchased the green peplum dress
Hope you love it!
Another amazing video! So practical and enjoyable to watch. One question I have is how do you keep your clothes looking so good quality? What are your secrets to machine washing? Thanks in advance.
No secrets other than never mixing whites and always using colour catchers. X
Do you have a video about what underclothes to wear with different outfits?
We do on our courses but not on TH-cam. X
All the everyday ladies here🙂 ⏬
I like to wear skirts and dresses, but sometimes it can be too cold even in the summer. How to solve that? Tights? And what colour then?
You can wear leggings that don’t show under your skirts but other than that avoid or add more layers for warmth. X
I always wear a knee-length dress with leggings or a maxi dress cause of the toilet..... and a scarf to cover my face cause of the Aircon. There a tones of videos about does and don'ts on the plane. One is taking of the shoes. Thank you for your video.
Thankyou ☺️
Love your videos ,I like me and em dresses but don’t go up to a size 18 ,I struggle to get nice holiday dresses in my size, any brands you suggest
Thanks
Yes, try Boden, they do some lovely ones. X
By the way I am obsessed with green ❤
Me too … can you tell?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
Would you consider a holiday outfits for an older woman perhaps your mum
Yes absolutely- if someone volunteers then I’ll happily do it xx
Depending on which airports you are travelling through, you may need to remove any shoes, so not easy with lots of straps.
Yes but it’s only a moments worth of inconvenience so it’s worth it!
Where is the green short set from? Make? The one you’ve linked is not the same.. no tie or side slits .. thanks ☺️
It’s from fat face but it had sold out so we had to link similar instead.
@@mmpersonalstyling thanks x
Would you be able to do one for a holiday in England??
Yes, it’s coming!!
Beautiful holiday wardrobe!
Would you say the two green dresses are generally office appropriate?
Personally I’d say so if it’s a smart casual office…
Your skin looks so dewy and clear. What skincare do you use ?
I don’t use anything other than cerave moisturiser and the current body red light masks and radio frequency device. I do drink anything other than hot or cold water (no alcohol, no tea or coffee etc.). BUT… it could also be down to the lighting and camera (so I’m sure it’s not quite like this in real life’!!
Great advice - which bra do you wear with the black sundress? or none? think id struggle with that
Just a strapless one…
Oh my gosh! Those dresses! I’m going to buy the green one but I can’t decide between the black or the green in that style. I love the green but do you think that colour of green will date? I love your videos, they are my favourite. ❤
I think black is more likely to make you look older than the green one. Go for the colour!
@@mmpersonalstyling Thank you! I appreciate the advice. Green it is. 😊
