I'm going to tell you something. I bought oxygen recently and was lost actually trying it. You made this look so simple that I can now go and design some sites i have had on the back burner. Thanks you so much for this video.
i am a web designer and I used all other page builders to get good results in speed but no other page builder gave me good results. Finally, I have shifted to oxygen and after using oxygen I never expected from oxygen that it gives me what i want from page builder and I can say that this plugin will definitely become the future of WordPress builder
Nice overview of using templates, but do you have a video of building sites from scratch based on actual mockups? Or basically, 99% of the time I build sites based on client mockups built by designers, templates are never a thing we use, so I need to know if I can build ANY sort of design from scratch. For example, when I tested this, and had to use the "Columns" container, you only have 6 options of column layouts. Is this not adjustable? You only have particular media breakpoints, are these not adjustable? Breakpoints should be based on the needs of my content, not device widths. I like that I can add a custom class to a module, but I found that my classname did not overwrite the built-in classes! I had no way to add !important or otherwise find a way to make my class override the default. Any time a page builder gets in the way rather than allow full control, that hurts a bit. I just need a visual way to help build what I would code by scratch in the first place. Not give me a preselected set of defaults that can't be changed and have no way to customize. But I'm still testing it out ;)
Is it possible to create a wp magazine template with Oxygen? What about fancy post blocks addons like livemesh (elementor) or wp post modules (WP bakery) ? will you ever release some stuff like that?
I was following each step. Except on the forms I used the WPform lite plug-in. Seems not to work right because it doesn't look the same as when I did it on the WPform lite editor... Is there a way to make them work correctly inside Oxygen? is this a compatibility issue? any help Is really appreciate it
It looks so fast. I'm a Divi user ( FAIL BUZZER SOUND ). When you go from backend to frontend it takes litterally 4 seconds to load (on Divi). On Oxygen you just click Frontend and you have it. I watched your video about loading time optimization. I had 8.9 loading time before i watched your video. I'm now at 1.3 (with cloudflare activation also). 1.3 sec with animated content on Slider Revolution. Which is pretty d*** good. My next step is to do that with Oxygen. I'm so curious. I give you my word i buy it tomorrow. I did so much today already ^^ Thank you for all your videos and advices.
It'd be great if people doing tutorials would keep in mind that when they state what selection they're clicking at the same instant that they're clicking it, we can't see what they clicked on, and where. For example: 4:39. You should say where you're going while hovering over the item, _then_ click it.
I have lifetime Divi license and just purchased Oxygen too. While I think Divi is easier to use I constantly have problems with the builder loading. If it loads at all it still takes too long. So far Oxygen has been way faster on both the frontend and backend.
@@tinkerbrained - I had a Divi license but did not renew. While it's easier to do things on the front end I always struggled with over all site structure especially with custom headers and footers. I built a shop front with two headers in about 6hrs in Oxygen. Once you get your head round how Oxygen works it feels way easier than any other builder I've used. Only gripe I have is no undos...
This tutorial was great. I have a web site that was custom built but I would like to redesign the home page to look like the one you made here. Can I use Oxygen just to redesign one web page on my site?
Thanks for your great tutorial..inspired by it I bought Oxygen, but the screens I see are not like the ones in your video..could you explain please?..thanks
oxygen builder should add new videos to make it more competitive and up to date. unless not much has changed, tutorials such as these should be maximum 1 year old. .
I've been liking all what I've been watching till that Ugly Contact form showed up. This is a huge drawback. Contact Form needs to have templates as well and the ability to integrate mailing services such as Mail Gun and the others. All of them have APIs.
The contact form was a separate third party plugin so it's not a drawback because it has nothing to do with oxygen itself. You can just use a different plugin with more features if you desire. He was just giving an example of how to use shortcodes from third party plugins.
@@tinkerbrained This is an extremely old comment. You can style any Shortcode or Codeblock output in Oxygen. Just active custom selector and Style it however you want.
You have to put the form into the modal and play with the settings for the pop-up. It can be even animated! Here is the video - th-cam.com/video/zyoBPUjX-H8/w-d-xo.html
Yeah it’s nice and I can follow with my experience but it’s still not user friendly to the start up business owner like using square space. Until someone simplifies it using terminology and and the simplicity as other popular builders, it will remain a platform for web developers. Hopefully someday because I love Wordpress. It’s stupid complex in comparison to square space like builders and I mean correct me if I’m wrong but I think the amount of small business owners needing to build their own sites far outweighs the developers. Hopefully soon.
No. The last thing we need is another squarespace. It's like saying why make airplanes since I can't drive to work in them and there's all these people that need to drive to work.
@@chrisb5823 Well said, Squarespace has to me the most overrated platform, complete style over substance, I can think of 10 sitebuilders I'd take over Squarespace. No, Wix ain't one of them either.
@@OxygenBuilder How do we know the feature requests are going to be considered? There is no indication? Do you go by how many people leave a comment on the feature request?
Now I just feel stupid. This looks so simple, but I have a half built site that someone else started, and the new menu items aren't automatically appearing.
Use the Social Icons element at +Add > Helpers > Social Icons, or simply design your own social links bar using icons, images, text, and link wrappers.

One of the very few "easy to follow" tutorial. It took me an hour, but it worked for me. Thanks!
When I say I am totally tech dyslexic, its an understatement. Your explanations are thorough & easy to follow. Thank you.
This has swung it for me. The initial template with header / inner content / footer is fantastic.

@@giantkylec It's hard core for noobies who call themselves web designers/web developers.
I saw an article on Oxygen by a "WordPress expert" that said Oxygen had a "steep learning curve" lol. Literally takes only 10 - 15 minutes to learn.

If everybody creates a simple page builder, that leaves a niche for a powerful builder for developers, doesn't it?
