Superb score Fil..... Welcome to the 959 owners club! Looks like a real good example there mate, it's very rare to find one without cracked wishbones and broken drive hubs. I would hazard a guess that this has been restored with NOS parts at some stage. The extra ribbed skid plates are actually from the Celica GRB, they are slightly different from the 959, as are the hubs and shock towers/body posts. The black speed controls were standard until the late eighties, the browny orangey ones came in around 1990 (ish) if I remember correctly. The black one was probably the one that the car came with, and the other was probably fitted when it was restored. Like I say, that's a great example buddy..... MCI and TBG do some great reproduction body shells for these should you wish to do a new body, although personally, I love the original with all of its dents and dings! The protective film was a great idea, and great to see you taking her out for a rip, but be careful!! These things are soooo fragile, and finding new parts is extremely hard and expensive! They are an absolute delight to drive once running right, and give a very life like driving experience. You may need to service those dampers, seeing that rear wheel kicking up like that..... the suspension usually is devine on this car! I own three of these now, and know this chassis inside and out, if you need any advice just drop me a message buddy. So then, fancy trying to beat my 959 slalom challenge time of 8.86 mate? 😂 Great video Sir! 🙏 👍 👍 👍 Oh, and the slicks were an optional extra mate. The kit came with rally blocks as standard. Welcome to the club 👍 Some parts in the box are for the Celica. The original speed controller has a plug for the "LED". Power dump can be due to Nicd, they tend to lose power fast and maybe 1060 went in Limp mode. Where's the cockpit ? And yeah the Technigold is pretty nippy on this chassis, I was amazed too. Now can't wait to see the Porsche on the skate park jumps 😁😂🤝
