My plot theory:
The 2 girls at the start were sisters, just like Odd and Even. But one of them was killed by the Javelin thrower soldier, even though combat was over. The surviving sister was crowned Queen, but she couldn't bear to live without her sister. So she's now searching for a replacement -- which is why she altered Odd's dice roll. Had Even made it to her 12'th birthday, the Queen would have altered her roll, too. But the Queen's dead sister isn't gone, she's the Ghost. The Ghost saw the bond that Even and Odd share, and wants to use it to help her sister, the Queen, let go -- or end her tyranny.
You always find such great games to play, thanks for letting me see these gems without having to find time to play them myself(I have very little time).

more cards isn't necessarily more better in card games with a limited hand. if you can only hold 5 cards at a time, you should be pruning your deck so that the cards that better match your style show up more often.
